Wonderful, personable owners! Kim actually travelled to Tacoma and hung art for us. His expert and safe hanging was much appreciated, as well as his artistic suggestions on placement. Thank you for a job well done!

We were looking for a piece of metal art to mount on the tile wall above our fireplace. The builder has installed an outlet and connections for a TV -- but after "killing" a TV we learned that the fireplace was just too hot. Now we had an ugly set of holes in the tile from the mounting bracket. We thought a piece of heat resistant art would be a good way to place an accent piece and cover the damage. I discovered that Birdnest carried metal art so we went in to look. I'm normally the guy who finds a couple pieces in an art gallery that are "Ok", but when we walked into Birdnest I found that I liked a lot of what they had. Nice variety of Pacific NW themed art at reasonable prices. Most importantly, we found a series of large (but not heavy) metal sculptures. Kim (owner) was extremely helpful and patient in helping us take measurements and discussing the pros/cons of how to mount them. We decided to go with a piece featuring Mt Rainier, trees, and water. Kim brought the piece to our house and handled the mounting. It was not an easy job as the tile we have is apparently from the planet Krypton. He stuck with it and we now have an elegant piece of art that not only covers up the damage but provides a very nice centerpiece to our living room. Thanks Kim!

We purchased a beautiful (and expensive) painting in Hawaii and it deserved only the best framing. We thought we would need to find a place in Tacoma or Seattle but wanted to give our home town a try first, and glad we did. As soon as we started discussing the options we knew we were in the right place. Their recommendations were just right and they produced a beautiful piece. Couldn’t be happier.

I brought in 5 very old etchings that I had inherited. Kim the owner, did a stunning job bringing theses pictures back to life. The matting, and framing we're amazing. He knows his stuff! A merchant that really cares about his customer satisfaction. I plan on bringing in another print for him to work his magic on. A great locally owned shop too!

Kim, the owner, was most gracious and accommodating. We brought in 3 pieces of artwork all of varying sizes and Kim did a fabulous job with all of our pieces! One was oversized and had been rolled up for more than 10 years. I was thrilled to see what a fantastic job he did with that one piece of art. All three pieces look wonderful in our home. We will definitely bring more work to Kim in the future.

Adequate work for top dollar. We went down the street for better work at a fair price. If this were only a gallery I would have given higher marks. The gallery has great art, photography, and jewelry. The framing, meh, we got better at the competition.

Wonderful experience. Asked for and got excellent advice regarding frames for 1 large print and 4 matching smaller pictures. The pictures turned out beautifully. Kim even made them idiot proof to hang.

Kim is an expert and helped us find just the right frames for our pictures. They were completely ready to hang and he even included the hardware to hang them. Great service!

It is a gallery, but I was much more interested in the jewelry, created by the owner's wife. I purchased a necklace and matching earrings and had a nice time hearing about the pieces I chose. As she wrapped up my purchase, she took the time to write down a description of all gemstones and elements in the jewelry so I'd have it for my records. The jewelry and artwork was reasonably priced, especially when I remembered to tell them I live in Oregon, so no sales tax was collected. It is great to be an Oregonian, even in Washington. Birdnest is a stop on the Gig Harbor Art Walk held on the first Saturday of every month.

We had a Saturday night in Gig Harbor and wandered into Birdnest Gallery late, after buying zero at the nearby seasonal "Christmas" store. Due to the dearth of unique local items and the bounty of overpriced imported items at most art shops in small touristy towns, we rarely spend much time or money. Birdnest is a wonderful exception. Local art pre-dominates by far. There are beautiful pricey items, as well as unique wonderful affordable pieces. Hadn't planned on buying anything, but in the hour we were there we chose about 6 quality, unique items at reasonable prices. And kept spotting more. Some we'll keep; some we will use as great Christmas presents. Kim, the owner, was able to relate interesting stories about each of the artists. Not at all pushy, but the stories made the pieces more compelling. We'll be back.
