I was married on San Juan Island many many years ago and was trying to find the exact location where I was married. I was looking for a certain stained glass window. I would have never found it without the help of these people. I was not only able to find it in a locked building but was able to find contacts to unlock the closed building for me to go to the window

Kimberly was very helpful. She provided us with every little piece of information, help us to get lodging when seems to me everything was solid booked for Labor day weekend and send us detailed information about local activities. I was very impressed with "red carpet" service.

Inviting visitors now is inappropriate. It creates fo our community a difficult challenge. Our transportation system is overwhelmed. The spread of covid has quadrupled. The choice of torist generated money over our health is no choice at all. Please don't visit now.

Possibly staffed by volunteers? Not great sales people. Lots of brochures though. Wouldn't hurt to stop here but don't expect a lot of excitement from the attendants.

The visitors bureau is not a public office. For tourism information go to the San Juan Islands chamber of commerce at 165 1st St. S., Friday Harbor.

The visitor info was good, but you can get similar info on the ferry going to Friday harbor.

We stopped in here for some advice on Thursday, Sept 15 since we were only on the island for the afternoon. The man working that day could not have been more negative about the island. When we asked him about a certain museum, he said it was not worth it. We also asked him what souvenirs would be special to purchase he said "Nothing is really special to me here since I've lived here so long!" I really couldn't believe my ears! He also didn't tell us that all the stores closed in Friday Harbor at 5:00 making us miss out the shopping we told him we wanted to do. Soooo disappointed that we even bothered to stop in.
