I started coming here earlier in the year, I had found out that Dr. Bishop has a French Bulldog and since I have two of my own. I figured he was the best vet for one of mine that has allergies. He is very thorough in his examinations and very compassionate. Very reasonable and yes as mentioned by another reviewer doesn't recommend things that aren't necessary. The vet techs are fantastic as well and the front staff is fantastic. There is a wait to get in just an fyi but definitely worth it.

Best Vet I have even been to with my pup, Dr. Reiter was so patient and kind spending real time talking and my dog was relaxed and calm the whole time. Vets are not her favorite place. So impressed with the level of care here from front desk and the staff were excellent! Highly recommend!

I had a series of less than happy experiences for our dogs vet care and was hell bent to get a veterinarian. I met one of the vets, Robert Bishop when he was gassing up his car and his Frenchie was chilling in her comfy car seat he had made for her. He was kind to talk with me. He told me that he was a vet. I asked where and he said Useless Bay Animal Clinic. So I made an appointment for our dog, as his new patient. Had about 2 week wait. Worth it. He's kind, logical, Cates about less stress, pain and procedures that exceeds any vet I have been to for over my 50 years+ of being a dog owner. As our dog had gone through a lot of emergency care, I shared that X-rays showed the vet that our dog had an object in her stomach. Instead of surgery he said he'd have knocked out our dog and done a scope with a retractor to pull the object out of her gut. It got down there, so it can come back out that way. He'd not do surgery at all costs because that's harder on the dog. I thought that was brilliant. He doesn't believe in dental work until it's necessary and does not do teeth cleaning on any regular schedule. He believes in rabies shots/vaccinations. He checked our dog for fleas and since he didn't find any signs he figured that we care for our dog. He didn't prescribe tick, flea or heartworm meds. He liked the weight of our dog. Didn't want to see her any thinner (we thought she was on the heavy side). He believes in doing the right thing for the dog, first and foremost. No follow up aptmts were scheduled and we were assured that they are there should we need them. They also use the Bellingham, WA veterinary teaching hospital called Boundary Bay for more serious emergencies, which we had found on our own through our previous emergency with our dog, around Easter time. Felt reassured that we found the best veterinarians for our dog. The bill was very reasonable and we were more than happy to pay. The facility takes credit cards and Care Credit. Staff very pleasant. Clean waiting and exam rooms. They also take products that dog owners want to donate to other dog owners to fill needs. They leave these outside the building so folks can pick and choose.

Dr Reiter , what can I say? She truly cares. I recall my first encounter with her in an emergency situation with my dog tinkerbell when she was attacked and Dr Reiter sewed her up and even followed up after! (This was a few years ago) and she was our doctor for life from then on.Yesterday, another emergency situation where my papillon got an acutely very, very sick. She again, came to the rescue!Useless bay is FAR from useless my friends! On the contrary when your pet is your dearest friend, this is the place to go - where they TRULY care ❤️

I have been going here for years for all my dogs! I'm very grateful for Dr. Rieter. One of my dogs has become more challenging at the vets now. I'm grateful for how she handles Roku. She stays calm and doesn't handle him in an alpha/dominate way. They don't treat Roku or myself in a negative way, now that he has to be muzzled and takes some "special fineness" to see him. ? Thank you, Dr. Rieter and staff!
