The CEO of Rite Aid earns $20 million per year but they can't be bothered to hire enough staff to fill prescriptions. Flu shots are never available because the pharmacists are too busy. Many shelves are bare, which gives the place a dystopian Soviet Union vibe. The few employees who work here are professionals but Rite Aid clearly does not care about its customers or employees.

I wish they would hire more pharmacy staff, it seems like everytime I go to pick up a prescription it's lined up pretty much to the front door.
Edit #1 - Again lined up all the way down the isle.
Edit #2 -Tried contacting via the app while in line and the form doesn't seem to be working and customer care is closed. There are also 2 very disgruntled people in line.
Edit #3 - another 1/2 hour wait - reducing to one star as there are multiple staff behind the counter but only one at the 3 tills
Edit #4 - was going to commend them for having more pharmacy staff during busy times but bow i ran into the "closed for lunch" issue, I'm trying very hard to support local businesses but rite aid is making it very hard. Yes I called customer service and let then know too.

I had surgery today, and was looking forward to getting home, taking a painkiller, and resting. We drove two hours home only to find that my prescription was NOT ready. The person at the counter not only acknowledged that they don’t answer the phone, but also claimed that the system was down (very conveniently, after just looking at the request in said system) and that they were “several days behind” filling prescriptions. If someone had an emergency, they’d be hard pressed to get their needed medications. This is unacceptable!

Twice this month completely ran out of pain meds. Waiting for 4 to 8 days to fill. Tried calling many, many times. No answers. The last straw was when I approached the manager, he was rude and dismissive. I asked him what the customers are to do if they can't get rite aid to answer the phone. Qoute " come in and stand in line like everyone else". The line is to pick up drugs not ask if it's ready. Rite aid needs to sell the business to someone how can run a business. Would love to hear form district manager

If I could give them zero stars I would… called in a prescription a week prior to needing. Was told come come get it Sat. Not ready yet. Came in Sunday, told to come back at 1. Came back at 1 not in stock. Came back the next day, come back at 1. Came back not ready yet give us 30min. Not in stock. Going back today to hopefully pick it up. Trying to not take it out on the messenger but this prescription is now 3 days late from when I was supposed to take it and it is one that I have to take exactly the same day/time each week… switching pharmacies after this. I’ll gladly drive 40min to oak harbor to bypass this awful store. They also asked me why I didn’t call to check on this instead of standing in a 45+ min line, we’ll sir I called about 30x but no one ever picks up the phone.

Not coming up with a solution for dropping off prescriptions when you close the prescription drop off window is really not using the significant brain power that exists in pharmacy staff. Thinking that it’s ok for customers to wait in a Half hour line to drop off scrips reflects extremely poorly on you.

The shelves are always empty. Every time I go there for am emergency to get something, they do not have what I need because their shelves are empty. They need to go out of business. The last time I was in there, it was around 730 in the evening, so it was dead. I went in there with sweats and a hoodie. The lady littetally stopped what she was doing and pretended to clean the isle that I was in and then proceeded to follow me around the store. Then when I was checking out, their system is so slow that when they print out the receipts, it takes like 2 minutes. My card was approved and I had paid, I didn't want to stay for the receipt so I picked up my items and started to leave and the man at the counter made me stay and wait for my receipt even though I was at the door And wanted to leave. I felt like he was holding me there without my consent. When he attempted to give it to me, I told him I did not want it and I left. I will not be going back to that store. I love helping local stores, but this store needs to go out of business and something else needs to go into it's spot.

Always understaffed - long lines and extraordinarily rude folks. They get away with it because they are the only pharmacy on this half of the island. Hope Amazon takes the lead and offers us a better option.

I understand the number of negative reviews over the past two years and sympathize with understandable complaints about long queues, wait times, refill errors, and glitches with Rite Aid's online reservation system. I have personally experienced these frustrations, but my experience is that the trouble lies in the hands of the corporation — not at all with the hardworking pharmacy staff. They're not responsible for understaffing, the sheer volume of RXs that the pharmacy has to handle, or Rite Aid's faulty online platform. Each time I have needed to resolve a problem, a pharmacist or technician has resolved it patiently and efficiently. While waiting for a pick-up, I can see pharmacists working nonstop and technicians helping TWO customers at a time at the checkout. I've found every employee to be courteous, understanding, helpful, and fast. I think wait times have improved a lot in the past several months, and I was honestly amazed by my recent immunization appointment: In and out right on time, in under two minutes. I agree with other commenters who think we should show some understanding of — and appreciation for — employees who clearly do their best to do a professional job and fulfill such important responsibilities. A little understanding and patience can go a long way.

The 2 star reviews are undeserved. don't know why this place gets such a bad wrap. They've always been super kind and helpful to me, even more than other rite aids. They get very busy but there's always 2-3 pharmacists making the line go fast. They've never messed up my prescriptions and they're very considerate on finding cost effective solutions for customers. I've always been skeptical of this place because of the poor reviews but after using them for over a year now I'm convinced south island customers are just rude ungrateful people

There is an aging population here on the south end of Whidbey. This store is EXTREMELY under stocked. The line for prescription pick up is mote than 12 deep. It's been this bad or worse for nearly a year now. It is the only pharmacy serving this part of the island. The next is 45 minute drive away. NO more excuses, first was COVID, then bankruptcy, then can't get employees, ... ENOUGH! Fix it Rite Aid or sell to another pharmacy.

Can I give zero stars??? Just the absolute worst pharmacy for wait times. How does this company even consider itself to be fully functional? I came here in an emergency, but never ever again, even in an emergency situation. I switch to Amazon 18 months ago and you should too. This company is a complete embarrassment. I don't work for Amazon, but I'm telling you, it's 100% worth the switch. Stop giving Rite Aid your money until they fix their company.

3rd time they did not gave my prescription ready. First time, they lost the fax.
Second time was told back to come back the next day, I did, then they told me again to come back the next day.
Third time, I’ll have to either wait an hour, or come back the next day.
This should be illegal, there is no other pharmacy we can get to. They know this and exploit us.
I’m looking into delivery from now on.
