Our purchase seemed like frozen defrosted dinosaur meat. Our family barbecue was a culinary disaster, every plate with left over meat and it wasn't the fault of the chef. Not sure what grade quality their meat is but it seemed freezer burned. The prices seemed high in comparison to most stores.

M.P.'s review was surprising as we have been going here since they first opened and have always been pleased with the selection, quality, cleanliness and friendliness of the family. It is always our go-to stop on the way home from Birch Bay to fill our coolers and eat well for months. M.P. - if you don't care for the ribs...don't buy them! Pretty simple choice to make. The variety of meats is amazing - pork, buffalo, ground beef, steaks, beef jerky, salmon, and so much more. Of course, you are paying for quality meat and the prices aren't any higher than a grocery store. The family is genuinely core-of-the-earth farmers and nice as can be. We support local and will continue to do so. Looking forward to some BBQ steaks soon!

We went in out of curiosity since we drive by the place often. We ended up purchasing some barbecued ribs covered in what we could only guess was supposed to be BBQ sauce. This sauce was analogous to some form of low end, off brand ketchup that had a lurid affair one night in the ghetto which gave birth to a malformed ketchup/barbeque sauce child who was abandoned and grew up never knowing its parents; angry, hurt and alone it turned to a life of crime causing havoc and mischief wherever it went until it found its way onto these ribs. The meat itself was no better, it seem to die a lonely and miserable death. You could taste the sadness and pain in the meat and how it must have died alone in the cold a long, long time ago somewhere in the far north Canadian arctic. There the dead beast lay for untold eras until some Inuit discovered the carcass and decided to butcher it and sell the meat judging by how freezer burned it was. We spent many hours debating whether the sauce or meat had the most miserable existence and that the only thing they shared was the same sad lonely destiny until they were brought together that fateful day at the Sundance Meat Company. The hopes that now they at least had each other were short lived as the union was so foul we had to throw them in the garbage. As an aside; when we commented on the high prices a staff member replied 'this isn't Costco' in a indignant fashion. After going there once we can attest to that. At Costco you get fresh meat at a good price.

I went to Sundance last night to get some cow hearts for a friend's art project. The man at the counter was very nice and helped us pick out the perfect heart for her needs. It was a clean, open, well-stocked beef shop that offerred farm fresh beef at about two-thirds of the price of the super-market stuff. If you're in the area, get on I-5 and head to exit 266 in Ferndale for some great beef and beef products!
