March 2024 by Tanis L.
Stopping by the WinCo Foods on Southwest Campus Drive in Federal Way in the morning on Friday 8 March 2024 (about 8:40 a.m.) and Saturday 9 March 2024 (about 9:50 a.m.), I found available parking not too far from the store entrance and exit both days as well as the aisles well stocked. Prices were clearly visible and the different sections of the store well marked and laid out. I was attending the 2024 Men's Pac-12 Conference Swimming Championships a short ways up the road and stopped by each day for something to eat before each morning session as well as snacks. One morning I went with a pre-spectating sweet of a maple frosted Bavarian cream donut as well as some strawberry filled crêpes for snacking. I enjoyed both items, eating the donut after purchase and snacking on the crêpes across both days. The second day, I went with a deli sandwich for my pre-spectating food, specifically a turkey and Swiss cheese croissant sandwich. The croissant was fluffy and flaky, turkey slightly sweet and cheese creamy. The buttery-ness of the croissant made additional condiments not really necessary (per my tastes). I also got a Cadbury creme egg for a snack, though I ended up eating it the next morning at home. Ilya Kharun had fun with gesturing bunny ears with his hands in relation to this Easter bunny egg. Both days I arrived at the self check out area to find an available station or two. I came a little later on Saturday morning and the parking lot was a little fuller, though I still made it in early enough each day that I did not encounter longer lines.

Love shop in there, seems overcrowded when it comes to checking out your groceries, but the people are nice, and if you go early in the morning you'll have a better experience good prices

I Love the quality and the prices. It's often very crowded, so I like to go shopping early or late.

Winco has a good collection of all kinds of food, be it packaging or or in open bins, where you can have the choice to get your desired quantity. The prices are very competitive, and there is barely any store that can beat Winco's prices. The only downside is that they don't accept credit cards and phone payments or contacless payments, even with a physical debit card or cash. Recently, they have also introduced self check out counters for items 15 or fewer. That's a big convenience, given there are always long lines on the register.

I love winco. I enjoy this store for the variety it has. November 2nd 2023. Yesterday around 4:10ish I was shopping for some items. Love the bulk bins. At that time a lady was trying the dry rice while she held two carrots in her arm. She put the rice she but back into the rice bin. She then put her hand in the rice with no scoop or gloves and then asked me if I wanted the rice… I said “yes I did until I saw you out your hand in it.” She put both her hands up and said ok… maybe you can put disposable gloves near the station. Or have signs about what is allowed and not. How can I trust it. She should have used the scoop. Used a bag. Put a tiny sample in the bag and tried. Not just use unclean hands. An employee was actually there at the same time and heard our conversation.

Cheapest groceries in America. Compared to Safeway, up to 90% cheaper, same with Fred Meyer, and up to 40% cheaper than Walmart. Also unlike Safeway which is rapidly getting rid of store brands, WinCo still sells store brand groceries.

My mom was at WinCo's one day shopping for corn. On checkout, she asked a worker to help me with the self-checkout machine, she said "do it yourself" she was like fine, but when she started paying, the worker was like "6 is the max" and she was like ok and returned the rest of the corn waiting for someone to pick up my payed corn. She went to put the corn away so workers don't have to pick up after her. the worker started to whisper to her other workers and staring at me. One of the workers came up to me and said"you better watch out, there are cameras watching you!" She was like what the heck was that for. So she had to report her to the customer service. Just because English isn't my mom's first language doesn't mean the worker could act like MY MOM IS STEALING. racistim ??

I've been shopping at this Winco for almost 10 years. Also have been buying alcohol for the same amount of time here as well. Today was my first encounter of having my CHILD ID'ed for MY champagne. My child is 14 years old. I came here for a few things; Avocados, Bacon & Mimosa stuff for myself. (As a mother we all have those days where you just need a mimosa, if you feel) I go to the self checkout where I scan all my groceries and scan the mini bottles of champagne, and wait for the clerk. She comes up, I ask if she needs my ID out to scan- she ignores me and asks my child for hers. I told her she's my kid, and the clerk said she couldn't give it to me. I asked why and she said "It's the law" WHAT LAW prevents you as a legal adult over the age of 21 to buy alcohol if your KID is present? Yeah.. no law. You can just refuse if you SUSPECT you're selling to a minor. She took the champagne, and put it behind a cashier and I checked out. Took myself to SAFEWAY and bought the same thing without my minor child being questioned, as she's a child, and it's champagne for a god damn adult. Worst service ever, and will not be returning. Hire some employees who are educated and have customer service skills! I come here every week for groceries with my kids and have never had this happen before. UPDATE: I decided to get a Costco Membership, where I'm VALUED and have ditched WinCo completely. After 10+ years of loyalty to this "employee owned" company.

It’s great for all the time grocery shopping, I wish it had beet root and dill, I would be satisfied and give it 5stars. I would not have to run to another store for it. Otherwise it sells frozen pork meat and pork legs which is great for stew.

I waited for my friend to be able to help me pay for some of my groceries after I cashapped her because I forgot my card. When I come back home they didn't give me a receipt nor did they give me my creamer. They told me I was out of luck. This Winco literally just made money off of someone and didn't want to help at all.
