People (employees) are friendly and helpful

Everything about this store has gone down hill. Long lines, weird dressing room hours if they even have them open or manned at all. Trying to hunt down someone who works here to open a room is difficult. It’s just a mess. Bummer.

Their fitting rooms should be open as long as the store is open. They shouldn’t close early because what if that’s the only time you’re able to come in?

Their groceries and other items are already overpriced as it is. On top of that now you have to wait a half hour in line to pay for these overpriced items. My time is valuable to me, so I put the refrigerated items back and then left the other items in the cart without putting the cart away and I just walked out in disgust with this place

Ordering online is SO easy, and the pickup desk is right inside the entrance!

Target missed out on getting our money since we could not access the SOCKS and UNDERWEAR so we will just order from Amazon or somewhere else instead. What a joke. Leaving 2 stars because I feel bad for those poor employees who clearly have no time to stock the shelves or ring up customers since they’re spending all their time unlocking inexpensive essentials for customers. It’s no wonder brick & mortar stores are dropping like flies.

As someone who used to work here, the two stars are for the hard-working team members, who are chronically short staffed due to corporate’s aggressive metrics. From requiring the one (or two if they’re lucky) drive-up employees to deliver all drive ups within a 3-minute window, WHILE manning the Guest Service desk, to the Online Pick Up preppers who are also timed to prepare the drive ups. If they don’t meet the nigh-impossible metrics, they get yelled at by their leads who are also overburdened by corporate slashing the amount of payroll they can give the store.
This results in 1-2 check lanes open, alongside the fact that they’re now closing self checkout during certain times of the day to “prevent theft” even though they don’t even allow their loss prevention to go hands-on the thieves, only serving to embolden said thieves. Normal customers are punished with the long, snaking lines and everything being locked up, all because corporate has buried their heads in the sand and refuses to see just how damaging and short-sighted their policies have become. There’s no reason not to shop at the Walmart across the street since they have self checkouts open as well as checklanes. This Target unfortunately is only going to become more short-staffed.
I know this review is long, but I wanted to give insight to anyone wondering, as someone who used to work here. It isn’t unusual for team members to be doing the jobs/workload of 2-3 people, all while being paid the same measly wage when they deserve way more. Every worker is usually put on some unnecessary timer, and management treats not meeting the timers it like life or death, causing insane amounts of stress for the workers.
It is truly sad to see. Please be nice and sympathetic to any team members you speak to, I know it can be hard because of the frustrating, long lines and locked items, but know they hate these short-sighted police’s too and wish things weren’t this way.

The two stars are for the team members, entirely. They are lovely and very hard-working.
Before the pandemic, I was frequent Target shopper, blah blah blah. So maybe it’s just that I stopped coming here as often and stuff to send out to me more? I understand that theft prevention is a big thing for corporations right now, but the impact on the customer experience is mind-boggling. Tons of things are under lock and key, with signs everywhere, saying to use the call button to get a team member over. Except there are no call buttons. Anywhere. And then if you do find a team member, so a few of them have keys that you only have a 1 in 10 chance of finding someone who can help you. ;I have no idea why they give out so few keys to the team members.) I waited in the socks section for nearly 15 minutes, which is quite a while when you’re just staring at socks. Multiple team members tried to come help me, didn’t have keys, called for help, no one was available. Finally, the team member who helped me told me that she was the only one on the floor currently with a key, and was also trying to fill an online order and was on a timer to do so, and apologize profusely. None of that is her fault.
I’m under no illusions that my opting to no longer buy socks at Target is going to take their bottom line into the red. However, while I was standing there, admiring the socks, I watched four groups of people walk by, start to walk into that section, make a comment about it all being locked and how they didn’t have time to wait, and then walk away. I have a hard time believing that this isn’t affecting sales in some sort of profound way, but maybe it’s still worth it to them.
This experience came after several other questionable decisions by management, and I assume corporate, like closing all the self checkout during particularly busy seasons in order to “curb theft,” leaving completely unprepared team members with lines snaking down to the grocery section, customers are suddenly in for a 45 minute wait before they can leave, and people who were going to steal anyway just stuff things in their backpacks and walk out the door. Everyone loses, nobody wins. Except for corporate, who probably feel like they can now show their shareholders all of the awesome things they’re “doing” for loss prevention.
I think it’s difficult to write a bad review without sounding petty and ridiculous, but I’ve had so many experiences like this in this store lately, and I guess a small part of me hopes somebody who can do some thing reads these. I know, very funny.
