February 2024 by Paul Kronst
Right now, the flowers are starting to bloom! In February! This garden is a species garden (not hybrid Rhododendrons in the city that are bred to bloom near Mother's Day weekend), so the Rhododendrons bloom here two to four weeks earlier than the Rhododendrons in Seattle! It is a nice stroll through the gardens.I'm a die-hard fan and like to go weekly when the flowers bloom. The Rhododendron Species garden is not in full bloom yet, I'm guessing closer to April, but there are still pretty flowers in bloom, especially Hellebores and Camillias.

What a beautiful place! After visiting Soos Garden in Auburn, we drove to this garden. We roamed for quite awhile. It was August, hummingbirds were flying about, tons of gorgeous ferns, flowers and well maintained trails made it delightful to get lost in. Being a photographer, my camera got its work out. Will be back in 2024 for sure. The ladies in the gift shop were friendly and helpful. Its truly a beautiful garden to walk around. We met a older couple visiting from England, and we kept running into them (I think we both kept doing some loops, not quite sure where we were, and refusing to look at the map), they were so awesome to chat with. It was a great day!

Looking for a free experience not too far from urban living? This place offers a sanctuary of nature, place to cool off in the heat and serenity from urban noise I didn't know about this secret gem until my date introduced me... great date experience!

Spectacular collection of rhododendrons in the understory of a grand old Douglas Fir forest. Wear earbuds to minimize the constant drone of the 5

My family and I visited the Pacific Bonsai Museum because it had free admission. We then found out that there was an additional paid section that focused on flowers and other rhododendron species. My favorite part was that there was no time limit. You could pay to get in, and then spend the whole day picnicking and walking the trails and enjoying the flowers.

I'll make it simple, if you're into and love gardening, landscaping and all things plants. Then it is definitely worth making a visit here. Just took my mother here for the first time amd she couldn't stop taking pictures!Price for entry: $8.00

Beautiful flowers and well maintained trails. A place to bring family and friends to unwind in nature. The only negative the sounds of the freeway but there's lots of parking and plants on sale. The bonsai garden is unique and leaves you in awe. Lots of buds still to bloom so will visit again soon

Living up to its name, this botanical garden is overflowing with bountiful species of rhododendrons. The garden spans 22-acres with paths branching out in all directions leading to different highlights such as the Rutherford Conservatory, Gazebo, Big-Leaf Rhododendron Garden, and Blue Poppy Meadow. Trails are primarily dirt and gravel with occasional inclines, which can be slightly difficult for accessibility. The hour-long visit was enjoyable even in the early afternoon heat in the 80s. There are a lack of signs so it can be a bit confusing to navigate. The Meadow is an open field where people were having picnics. Next to the Visitor Center has the Plant Sales Area selling many of the plants seen throughout the place, with some in clearance for 50% off. Behind the conservatory had a food truck with tables and chairs. Adult admission costs $8. The garden is also connected to the Pacific Bonsai Museum that is definitely worth checking out. Across the street down the road has two parking lots. We parked at Lot B at 11 AM on a Saturday, which was almost filled when leaving near 1 PM.

So beautiful! Excellent depiction of types of pacific ecosystems and rhododendron gardens. Plant sale too and a tropical warm greenhouse. Perfect place for a visit and destress.

I came to the rhododendron gardens at the end of March (a few weeks before everything is set to bloom), and I still enjoyed my trip. There is an indoor plant area with a short walk around and some benches to rest upon. It was an $8 entrance fee that you pay for at the gift shop. I thought it was worth it, and I will definitely be returning when they are in bloom.Restrooms: There are restrooms at the entrance. They are clean and well-maintained.

I buy all of my rhododendrons here. They are beautiful, well cared for and an amazing selection! And I am supporting a good cause!

Love coming here! 22 acres of beautiful trails. Staff is always nice. Adorable gift shop and lovely area. You will hear the noise of thr nearby roads and some trails are not as easy to understand on the map but it's fun getting momentarily lost there on occasion. The gazebo is a nice spot and there are plenty of benches. Also like the green house!

This place was beautiful! My family and I really enjoyed walking through and seeing all the different kinds of flowers. Definitely keep hydrated, there are some seating areas and a gazebo to take rest. There are plants available to purchase and a small shop with books and other novelty items.

April and May are the best times to see the Rhodies in bloom, but early June was still nice.
