APR-18-2023: Sit back and relax. I have a story of life for you. I won't mention suicide, drugs, or abortion; there is a brief mention of shopping cart abuse, however. This little bit of writing is supposed to be fun or funny or something like that. If you can't see that, then I have some advice for you at the end. Or stop reading now. Your choice!I've lived in Silver Firs since 1996. This store was built around the turn of the millennium. It's hard to believe, but this store has been a consistently a remarkable store for all that time.Packaged stuff is fine, and the prices seem OK to me, but I'm not too picky on price. I value quality above all else. And I can find packaged stuff anywhere. Here are the delighters for me: I like to shop for the triple B's: Booze, Bakery, and the Bunches of produce, especially the Bunches of produce. There is so much goodness here that I can't take it all in. The apples are amazing! I can't wait for the peaches this year. Last year's crop was so good! If I don't know what to do with a plantain yet, then that's MY problem. I like the deli too (but... it doesn't start with a B, so...) When I want a Rueben sandwich, this is where I get my meat and cheese. Be sure to get the Jewish Rye bread and the Dijon mustard. OMG! Delicious! Oh! And I always get my Parmesan cheese here at that little walk-around case, too.Today I also bought some cool BBQ gear. (Hey, another B!)I think this staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful, etc. I personally know that dealing with "the public" is challenging sometimes. I used to do volunteer work and I took so much abuse from "entitled" people who just want it fixed... NOW! When I asked for "a little help, buddy, because you know, it is a volunteer thing..." Nope! That's everyone's cue to disappear. It's just human nature to be inhumane. When someone is humane, the world lights up beautifully. So, I've been there myself. These folks are really nice. They are "soldiers of niceness". They could work at Disneyland.I admit that there are some things I always buy at a specialty store, like seafood and beef. I'm too picky in these departments. You know, sustainable, organic, humane, and harvested only on the Sunday after the first full moon after a volcanic eruption, etc. Just ask any critter or fish. I'm big on that. I can't bear the idea of boiling a live crab. I just can't do it.For everything else, I am happy to buy at this Safeway. I like to think of this store as "my store". So, I take care of it like I would my own house. I'd like to teach the public on how to return carts to the cart return. It really is possible and obscenely easy to stack them nicely with the big carts on one side and the little carts on the other side. But does the public do this. No. The public practices cart abuse every day!I'm sorry some folks feel differently about the store folks. It goes both ways. Some customer folks are not very good with store folks too. The world is not perfect. Some humans are good with other people, some humans are just not very good people and so on and so forth. Some people are tired, or they have worries, or they are just bored out of their minds and look forward to a change. Some people don't floss their teeth. I've smelled that. Haven't you, dog breath?Early on in my development as a human being, I bought a cucumber at this store. I went thru self-checkout. Something went wrong. A staff member fixed it and I left. When I got home, I had an email from my bank that said I'd spent more than $100 at Safeway just now. I looked at my receipt. The staff person had entered a quantity of 92 cucumbers into the register. I went back and got it fixed. Then I got heated and called the manager. The manager asked if the staff member corrected it, and I said yes. At that moment I realized what a prick I was. Now I laugh at little things like this. This is not a problem. This is just life! Once

I have shopped here a lot since the store was built. The gas station is good. For groceries, its a bit overpriced really, especially the produce department. The selection in some departments could be improved, such as teas, and vegetarian products. It would be good if the store had a bulletin board for the community and maybe offered other things as part of the community as well. Sprouts, Fred Meyer, Albertsons, Winco and Costco are driving distance and have better prices. If you shop at Safeway be sure to get the app and use digital coupons. I don't really like the fundraising at the cash register. The pharmacy is slow and probably too slow to get immunizations there without an appointment even though it says walk-up.

The Bakery did an above and beyond job on my daughters 18th bday cake. Gave an idea and they made it happen. Thank you!

What stands out to me about this Safeway is that they offer Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses. I love Safeway for their bagels, but now they save me the trip of going to 2 different stores when I want good bagels and good deli meats. The Produce has always been good and I've never had a customer service issue. I have been to many many different Safeways and this sticks out as one of the nicer ones.

I've been shopping at this particular Safeway for over 10 years and their customer service has gone to sh#t! I'm done. The worst part about this store is the deli, EVERY TIME I come in here they have someone behind the deli with some sort of attitude problem. Just tonight, of course after a long day at the clinic I'm just trying to get some hot food for my daughter for the drive home and this WINCH behind the deli stands there, dumping chicken, piece by piece, without even acknowledging us, not even saying "I'll be right with you," absolute zero acknowledgment for almost 10 minutes! It took all my might not to cuss her ass out. I will never go into this store again. Just terrible and totally unacceptable

The Pharmacy is atrociously slow and often have no idea where any of my families meds are, particularly for our baby. There hasn't been a single time in the last 3 months where there wasn't a line 5 people long and staff looking like they're lost.

I tried to get a flu shot at Safeway yesterday at 5:30pm. After calling first and listing to message that "Walk Ins Welcome for flu shots and Covid, and any other vaccine ". Store signage gave same message. Got Rudely dismissed at the Pharmacy counter, told "No walk ins after 5pm". Guess I am finding a new Pharmacy.

This is the closest grocery option to my home in Silver Firs, but not always the best. The store is clean, the employees are great and parking/safety is above average. My real issue is the store is on the small side, meaning they don't have a huge inventory. Safeway is also not so competitive on pricing. If I'm doing a big shopping run, I'll go to Fred Meyers or WinCo just for the savings. I may sacrifice a bit of my personal comfort, but walk away with substantial savings. If I need something quick or just grabbing a few items, this Safeway is the perfect stop. The floral shop here has really improved and now competitive with Central Market. The hot deli area is usually well stocked and I've never had any quality issues!

This Safeway has fantastic customer service always, but today I encountered one employee who really went out of her way to try to help me: Mila. I was looking for mint sauce, which I'm sure I've seen at Safeway before, but couldn't find it this time. I asked Mila if she knew where I could find it. She had never heard of it, but once I described it to her, she gave me many suggestions about where it might be in the store. I took her suggestions and looked for about 10 minutes, and as I looked, she kept coming to me with products that might be helpful, and I also saw her asking another employee about it. I never found the mint sauce, but I was so impressed with how much MIla cared about helping me. Thank you, Mila!

We drive from silver lake to go to this Safeway. The staff is always nice and helpful. They don't always know where some specialty items are that they carry but I think that might be to new hires. When I can't find something I just look up where to find it on my phone on their WiFi. Overall I really like all departments but really like how the butcher counter and deli always seem to be very helpful (not super fast always) they try their best and it shows! Thanks safeway!

Curbside pick up is really useful, but I feel like they are often overloaded. The shoppers aren't always attentive, and I have received expired or moldy items. Also, with it being the Covid era, I have often noticed employees are not wearing masks properly or following the arrow guidelines in place to encourage social distancing. It makes it hard for me to want to shop here. I really wish they'd step it up and take this seriously.

Make sure that any floral arrangement sent through FTD doesn't end up being made in this floral department. The flowers, especially roses, look awful when they arrive or never open, turn brown and fall off the stem in five days. Arrangements look NOTHING like what is pictured on the FTD site. The floral manager Heather is rude, defensive and sarcastic. Poor quality poor customer service from her.

Best Grocery store in the area. The people there are always super warm and inviting. Opens from 5am-1Am. Opens on most holidays, exception being Christmas I believe. Great selection, great prices and great people. What more can you expect?
