I took the Feel Good Paint & Digital Illustration class with Elena and it was very accurately named. Instead of strict instructions on how to draw, she gave us prompts, exercises and encouraged us to try new materials and techniques. This class helped me quiet my perfectionism and just enjoy making art. The hour and a half ways flew by. She created a lovely, safe space for us to draw and laugh and share ideas.

The exhibits are always so thoughtful and interesting. It’s never too crowded. And it’s really cool when the glass blowing studio is bustling in the background (you can see (and hear!) the excitement through the big window in the museum).
Free. Usually easy to find street parking very close by. And there are several restaurants and stores in the area to keep the day going if you want.

I have been so very happy with my experience at Schack Art Center. In particular, under Anita Black’s guidance in the stained glass classes! She is a one of a kind instructor that brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. I have been wanting to learn the art of stained glass for a while, and I am thrilled with the amount of education I received at the Schack thanks to Anita. She truly cares about her students and makes a point to celebrate each student’s strengths and help them with their struggles while learning the art of glass!

I was fortunate to visit the Schack Art Center (3?) times. I think it is absolutely a beautiful space filled with diverse collections of media by very talented people. I also loved the addition of children's art displayed on the halls. There were classes in session and once a glass blower. A highlight is the well-curated gift shop which rivals SAM. I was happy to meet the nice lady who curated it and kudos to her.

I took a silversmithing class there. The instructor was grumpy and not very welcoming. I had a good time but silversmithing is not for me. The shop. Was delightful and I bought several things for myself there from local artists. The ladies in the gift shop were warm and welcoming. I would like to take another class there and may do my Christmas shopping there next year. They have beautiful and unique gifts there.

I have taken many classes here, specifically stained glass, fusing and now a little bit of glass blowing. Almost two years of stained glass and fusing with Anita Black and she is the absolute best teacher! Highly recommend!

Amazing experience and lovely mission with the focus they have with representing the younger creatoes artistic contributions. I loved getting to watch the glass shaping.
