I have no plans to ever use PODS again. I have read many reviews of people who have had similar situations to mine and all have dealt with poor customer service and PODS lack of willingness to provide a reasonable service. Things started out find, they dropped the POD at our house and we loaded it up and then had it picked up. At the time we were putting it in storage until we found a new house. That all went well. Once we found a house I called to have the POD delivered and found out our new house was out of the service area (6 miles). The servicing facility makes no exceptions for delivering out of the service area. I was/am willing to pay extra knowing it is out of the service area but that is a no go. I have talked to three different customer service people and at this point only one of them gets any credit for trying to help me. The rest just tell me I have to go pick my stuff up from the facility 50 miles away. I talked to a moving company about getting my stuff and they said if I could get PODS to move the container to a closer facility that it would save me money. So I called PODS they said they needed to get approval from the location that the POD is currently located. Almost a week later I had not heard anything so I reached out to PODS again and find out that it will cost me $300 to move the container between facilities. This is not acceptable, if they will not deliver to my house they can deliver to the other facility at no charge, or deliver to my house for a charge. I wish I had read the reviews before going with PODS, they do not care about their customers and cost a lot of money for them not to provide the service that was purchased.

My POD was not delivered on the scheduled delivery day, and I was not contacted about this change until hours after the delivery window, despite the company providing a delivery window the evening before. After filing a complaint with the claims department, I was told that I would be contacted about the issue within a couple of days. I was never contacted despite many follow-up phone calls and live chat sessions. It has now been several months and I have not heard back from PODS regarding my claim. I will never use this company again and would strongly discourage anyone else from using this company as well. UPACK provides a much better, more reliable service with excellent costumer care.

Left me at a transit center will a full truck and moving crew, $1,600 in charges and kept repeating "sorry for the inconvience" instead of problem solving. Then cancelled my order while in possesion of my household goods. That took two days on the phone to sort out. Repeated instances of not returning phone calls from customer service reps, supervisors, CEO and even my "executive customer complaint specialist". Only got one of those when I contacted the President of PODS parent company at home. That was after four days straight of contacting PODS CEO at work and home emails. Tried to delay delivering my household goods more than a month past my move in date. Refused to compensate for my extensive picture documented damage of household goods. Flat out nightmare from start to finish. Never using again and suggest others avoid this crooked and unresponsive company if at all humanly possible.

We packed the POD 10 days before a cross country move, and scheduled delivery to our new home for the day after we were to arrive. Everything happened on the scheduled dates - it was very easy.

This would have been a great experience if the communication was better. Despite securing my PODS a full two months prior to the date I needed it delivered, I ended up having to spend an extra $750 to get my container out of storage because the company was unable to deliver on the date I needed (it would have been a full three weeks late otherwise). There was no accountability and their "customer advocate" is a joke. Yeah, I get it. You guys are busy; but to lie to a customer to get her off the phone and having uninterested customer advocates is just poor business.

I have truly never written a review in my life but I have to share about PODS because I hope someone can avoid the experience I’ve had from start to finish. PODS boasts high ratings on their website (which I have to believe are inflated) but truly PODS under-delivered in every way on my trans national move. From the beginning PODS promised same day pick up and delivery for both ends of my move. Only on one end of my move was that available and the driver came 5 hours later than promised. On the back end of my move PODS could not pick my POD up until 6 days after the deliver date even though they promised same day drop off and pickup. Customer service rudely told me that I was on my own. I opted to get a U Haul and pick my stuff up myself. A customer service agent told me I could access my container any day and their website says it is open M-S. I called PODS to confirm and they aggressively told me the facility is closed on Sunday and I had missed the window for any other day that weekend. I have to now pay for movers last minute which is more than I would have paid if I had just done that from the start. Not to mention average wait times exceeds 90 minutes on most of my calls. I was hoping PODs would be a reliable and professional company, but I was deeply disappointed. I would recommend anyone else… like literally anyone else. I’d be willing to put in a ship and sail it around the Horne of Africa before using PODS again.

I am extremely disappointed in the lack of commitment to honor what the PODS company says they will do for you. They canceled my PODS container order within hours of the delivery time and their solution was to schedule a PODS container to be delivery a month later. I explained I had movers and a floor replacement service all lined up to start the day the PODS container was going to be delivered so canceling on me with just a few hours notice was unacceptable. When I asked about options for a smaller container (note, I had to ask) I was told one could be delivered a few days later. I explained this was not okay and I now have to reschedule my movers and floor company. I was told there would be a price adjustment beyond the difference in price for the smaller container and at the end PODS didn't follow through with their promise again as there was no price adjustment. Using the PODS storage container cost me way more than it ever should have. Horrible customer service just horrible. Side note, PODS always responds to "contact them" so they can help resolve any issues. I have done this several times and nothing changes.

My experience with PODS was horrendous. Apparently, people you talk to on the phone don't give you all the information you need to follow how they want things done. And there is no room to take into consideration that their customers are actually human beings and may have life occurrences that don't march to their drumbeats - especially when you don't know what those drumbeats are. My advice? Hire ANYONE else!

Ruby was amazing with managing our pod pick ups today! We had complete chaos happening at our home with, painters, gutter installers, carpets installers, and landscapers everywhere! Add in that the gentleman who dropped our pods (who was very professional, skilled and kind) managed to squeeze them just right into our driveway side by side, leaving very little room for error; and a big job for whoever was coming to do the pick up service. Enter Ruby to manage the chaos/ and complicated situation. She was a rockstar! Kind, communicative, and capable. Above and beyond- when the key broke in the lock pods provided she was right there with a solution. Thank you Ruby! We couldn't have done it without you!

Pros: initial call for PODS estimate and reservation was very informative with clear expectations. Pod was delivered as described and items arrived with minimal damage.Cons: significant communication issues that would make me uncomfortable ever using this service again (see below)We used PODS for a 1200 mile move, the end of which involved a self-unload at the pods facility. Our initial reservation and delivery went smoothly, and things started going awry with the initial pick up. I was called notifying me that the driver that was supposed to pick up our pod called in sick, delaying the pick up by 1 day, but that "transport of the pod would begin right away." Because we were arranging for self pickup at our destination, we were already in the process of arranging a moving vehicle and help for our self unload day. No one from PODS communicated with me that the 1 day delay in pick up would then result in a full 1 week delivery delay, and I did not learn this information until I called myself to confirm delivery date. Due to the inconvenience and financial burden this caused, a manager assured me that I would be contacted regarding some compensation within a couple days, and I still have heard nothing about this 3 weeks later. Our second dilemma occurred when trying to unload our pod at the facility. When I initially arranged for self-pickup of my items, I was told I could come by anytime over the weekend during access hours to unload my pod. I then received a voicemail on a Friday (the day before I had planned to come) stating that I had missed an appointment. When I called to follow up, I was told the facility needed 48 hour notice for me to self unload my pod and we would be unable to access it until the following Monday. As I had already paid to rent a uhaul and recruited help, I was understandably frustrated that this was not communicated with me. Through several calls and advocating on my part, I was ultimately able to unload my pod on the Saturday as was initially planned.Final straw for me was arriving at the pods facility and not being able to find a single person who works there to help us find our pod. We ended up looking at the name tags on every accessible pod until we found ours, which took 30 minutes or so. Throughout these last several encounters, themes I noticed included inconsistency in knowledge between different associates and a complete lack of follow through. When I expressed concerns, associates also resisted connecting me with a manager and most did not attempt to problem solve with me, instead apologizing or interrupting me. While my items thankfully arrived in fairly good condition (only a couple minor dings and scratches), the inability to get clear, essential logistical information, the unpredictability, and lack of communication will result in me never using this service again.

Pod was a great option for my move. I had time to pack while it sat in my driveway. I hired helpers for the heavy furniture and i was confident that my stuff was safe and dry in the pod. Schedule way in advance as the trucks and podzillas are very busy

So now two weeks later... PODS reached out right away to say they are sorry to hear about my experience and they would forward my concerns to the team and then... nothing. Haven't heard a thing. What makes it even worse. I was telling my new neighbor how horrible the experience has been with PODS because they refused to deliver my PODS to my house stating they don't service my area and he was shocked! He said the only reason he has ever heard of PODS is because he has seen PODS on peoples driveways in the neighborhood!

When I reserved my POD service, I was asked about the dimensions and particulars of my driveway and was assured that the POD could be delivered to my home. However, when the driver arrived he shared that there was no way he could fit the POD in my driveway. I had to quickly find a rental truck option and double the time I was paying for movers to accommodate this error. When I arrived in my new city, I made an appointment to access my POD. The primary reason I chose PODS over other companies was because of this feature, where I could store my POD while I searched for a home but could access it at the storage facility to get out key items. At my appointment, I found that my POD door would not open due to a malfunction-likely due to shifted items. I immediately called customer service and was on hold for over an hour. I was told that they would file a report for me and that I should hear from an agent with a few days. This did not happen and I ended up calling and being on hold several more times before learning that my report had been filed in the wrong department and that it took over a week for the proper person to even be assigned. When I finally got in touch with that agent, I was also told that I would hear back from him with a solution within a few days. When I did not, I left a voicemail and sent an email every day for 4 days before ever hearing back-at which point he still did not have a solution. This entire process took over four weeks to resolve, and ultimately it was approved that the door could be ripped off at my home. This was after several PODS employees tried to convince me to sign what they call a "Tilt Waiver" where they absolve themselves of any liability for damages (specifically stating that this is even if the damages are unrelated to the tilt or are due to negligence) and then they would lift my container up into the air and shake it. This seemed incredibly risky and not like a good option, and it was regularly stated that I was "refusing" their preferred process. My entire experience with this company has been poor and I would not recommend them.Services: Out-of-county removals
