This is my preferred lumber yard for anything except exotic hardwoods. The selection is awesome, the staff know their stuff, and they’re on hand to help you find what you need. It’s a little more expensive than the big boxes, but the quality of the products more than makes up for it.

Do you have questions about your next home building project and want good quality lumber, but also want the experience of being treated like a bother when you ask a question? Want to be condescended to if you aren’t using the right terminology? If so, then go see Shaun at Dunn Lumber at Everett location and he will give you everything you need!Seriously though, this place is so hit or miss with getting help. You either get the nicest person in the world (Naomi and the nice woman that got my lumber in the yard) or people that go out of their way to make you feel like a bother. We get it, you know your stuff, and you’d rather just deal with contractors or with experienced home diy’ers. The rest of us are just trying to learn and we are hoping to work with someone friendly.

I purchased a sheet of 4' x 8' x 3/4 inch maple plywood at Dunn Lumber Company for $165 plus tax, no charge for 3 cuts. Big mistake. I could have purchased the same sheet (better quality at Lowe's for $90). Home Depot's 4' x 8' x 3/4 inch maple plywood was prefinished for $87. Both competitors also offer free cuts. Lesson - always check competitor's prices & product before you purchase. Dunn's product is a low grade maple plywood in my opinion. I didn't return it because I had it cut to requested sizes. I won't be purchasing from Dunn Lumber in the future. Nor will I refer business their way. Trust destroyed.

I had a wonderful experience here, I came looking for nice and straight 2x6s for a woodworking bench, of which I had no problem. The staff had no problem with me picking through the pile of boards and even helped me pick them out and load them. And the quality of the lumber was great, I'd say I only put back around 10% of the boards, how ever even most those would have sufficed. Additionally the price was cheaper than a big box store.

I don't know if management has changed or if the previous reviews were just bad luck, but I had stellar service this morning. I have to replace the trim around a window. I'm not a carpenter, but I can swing a hammer. I wasn't sure where to find an exact replacement for my lumber needs, and Home Depot suggested Dunn. I'd made maybe two steps into the store when we were greeted by a lady at the counter. I wish I could remember her name. She asked how I was and how she could help. I explained that I wasn't exactly sure what I needed, but I *thought* it was 5/4 x6x6 rough cut cedar. She conferred with the fella next to her, then I offered a small piece I'd ripped off for comparison. They consulted a third person who knew exactly what I needed- and it absolutely was not what I thought, but he was right. She offered to cut a 12' section to size for me, which I really appreciated, but declined since the price was incredibly reasonable and I may have to make an additional repair. One trip is better than two, right? She chatted up both of my boys, and was incredibly kind to my autistic son- she treated him as if he were your average neurotypical 14 year old. This meant so much to me. She should absolutely be recognized for her kindness, and for ensuring that I got what I actually needed vs what I thought I needed. The customer service was outstanding. The price was remarkably reasonable. Even though this location is further than HD for me, I think they just earned a repeat customer.

I needed to get a little piece of Hardie, but there aren't many siding jobs going on in the winter. Tone went out in the pouring rain to rescue me from the dumpster, and the whole team was extremely friendly and helpful. I got exactly what I was looking for out of it. Many, many thanks!

Assistant foreman, Grayson and Tone. My children and I were looking for wood for a woodcarving project at school, and you guys helped us out and provided us some free wood to use. Provided specific recommendations for the types of wood that will work best for their academic assignments. Grayson locating and chopping the wood to the appropriate lengths. They've really gone out of their way to help us. Thanks a lot to Tony and Grayson. Sent with appreciation from a doting mother.

I was looking for a scrap of Hardie...not easy in the winter when no siding projects happen. The whole team was so welcoming and Tone braved the horrible downpour to dumpster dive for me. I walked away with just what I needed. Thanks a bunch!

This one is fine, does the trick in a pinch. My advice at this one is know what it is that you're looking for. Though the wood they have is decent.Edit. Management really cares about your experience at this location. Changing my review from 4 to 5 stars based on their goal to improve. Looking forward to stopping into this one again!
