East County Thriftway is a typical small town store, described as nice, very clean, and well maintained. It offers a large selection of products and is very well stocked for a local store, including fresh produce. The staff is generally noted as friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and welcoming, though customer service can be hit and miss. A common critique across reviews is the pricing, which is frequently called too expensive, absurd, and higher than other stores, with a markup that makes it not feel thrifty.
Typical small town store. Unfortunately these smaller companies have to charge more to be able to stay in business and compete with companies like Kroger causing a markup in crisis that makes convenience stores about as cheap to shop at. Large selection of products though for a small town store.

I feel underwhelmed here. Price is a little higher than Pick Rite Thriftway in Monte, and the selection is basically Safeway lite. Customer service is hit and miss. The last visit the cashier was great, the time before no so much.

Too expensive, asking price is too high for the quality they offer. Only good thing they have going for them is their staff is pretty kind overall.
