Very helpful. I'm not a knitter, but my daughter in law is and they were very helpful in selecting a gift for her.

What a great group.of people! They have a new teaching space with the ability to teach dyeing and weaving! Tons of kits - Amigurumi, hats, mittens, capes and scarves. Add to that a lovely gathering of fiber-mibded folks on Tuesday evenings. This spot is highly recommendable.Enjoy.

What a difference a great set of knitting needles makes!! I went in a week or two ago to buy a couple circular needles for a project I'm working on and after talking to the (owner?) for awhile, I decided to buy the whole chiaogoo set. I love the time she spent with me to make sure I had a set that I truly LOVE! Every time I come in, I feel like I'm talking to a friend - she gives great advice, has this "fun" energy, and the store is stocked with great products.

I am a new knitter, and stopped by to ask a question on my project and they patiently walked me through the step I was missing. Thank you.

I stopped in here last week and was blown away by this shop! Great selection with tons of natural fibers and hand dyed skeins. The staff were friendly and super knowledgeable and wound my skein into a cake for me. They also stock angora rabbit yarn which is super unique and cool!

Had a great lesson in knitting with Tara, and also a costume consult to select some %100 wool yarns for halloween. topped off the visit with some UV reactive/rabbit fur yarn which was hand spun by artisan Char, who autographed the tag for me.

A great yarn shop. I especially like the collection of decorative stitch markers which I like to turn into earrings. Parking is very convenient.

Loved the shop, loved the owner. Great selection of yarn and other goodies. Friendly staff made me feel welcomed to browse as long as I liked and helped answer questions I had.

I feel so lucky to not only have a great yarn store, but I get free knitting/crochet project troubleshooting/skills tips as rewards for shopping, they have at least one knitting/crochet social a week, AND I can get a great selection and deal on my tools & supplies for weaving & spinning too. The owner is very nice and the store is welcoming. And it's a hoot to sometimes see people or kids just learning to crochet or whatever and they go around marveling at all the squishy softness. This is more like a cool boutique toy store for creative adults than the kind of overly bright standoffish chain stores. They sometimes have great deals on consignment used tools even.Almost all the good yarn stores close to Seattle have closed, this is about 15 minutes north of where I live, a nice calm drive if it's not rush hour -- I hope lots of people find it and shop there, I would be heartbroken if they went out of business like almost all my other favorite stores did!

Lost our business within 5 minutes Verified it was the store owner per the website. My wife, who is an avid knitter, wanted to check out a couple yarn shops in Edmonds she hadn't been to yet. We made a day trip of it grabbing lunch and hitting up All Wound Up before going to Stranded By The Sea. I don't usually go in with her, I'll just sit in the car and fiddle around on my phone while she shops. By the time we got to the store I needed to use the restroom, so I asked her to let me know if they had one I could use. She shot me a text letting me know they had a restroom; so I walked in and said hi to the owner on my way to it, used it (I was in there 2-3 minutes) and then found my wife and chatted with her briefly before heading back to the car. On my way out the owner asked me if I needed any help in a tone that was clearly non-helpful. I said no thanks and continued to the car.According to my wife the owner then walked back to the bathroom, gave it a once over (as if I were cooking meth in there) and then announced loudly enough for the whole store to hear "I guess we're a public bathroom now."We had parked directly in front of the front door, so then the owner made a show of opening the door, half stepping out, and pretending to look at something off in the distance while clearly looking to see where I was, just a few feet from her. She closed the door and announced again to everyone in the store "I guess he's going to just sit in his car now." My wife, disgusted by this, walked out and we left; but not before I let the owner know that in the future she should think about what she says in front of customers, lest she lose them.

A truly lovely store. They have an incredible selection of unique yarns and roving at excellent prices. They even sell and rent spinning wheels! The owner is warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. The angora rabbit was a big hit with my daughter. We're looking forward to many more trips to this treasure! :)

Easy to miss, but so worth tracking down. Stranded by the Sea has a wonderful collection of yarn and fiber. Most of it is really reasonable priced and they have regular community events for everyone to attend. The inside of the shop has a quaint whimsy to it that exudes creativity and they have the cheapest knitting and crochet kits around. Their real specialty lies in their spinning supplies. If you live in Snohomish county, they are your best place to stock up for spinning supplies, they have all sorts of tools and fibers at a few different price points and a socials around spinning if you are new and want to learn. Highly recommended!

A cute local yarn store with a good variety of different yarns. She also has spinning supplies and offers classes and fiber groups.

I went in with one project in mind and requested help finalizing a second project. So many ideas and yarn selections. Thrilled beyond belief with this treasure of a store!
