It's great to have a hardware store less than ten minutes from my house. They have some great sales on miscellaneous items.

I love the convenience of this store and they have everything. Jane is wonderful. Max is great! The guys who work there are so friendly. Who I can't stand is the older long straight grayish hair lady. She's rude, unfriendly and I swear constantly watches you. Almost makes me not want to go in when I see that she's working. If she's asked a question or to get anything from her she acts like it's a huge inconvenience. You'll be fine shopping there if you avoid her.

I get really upset with the bait and switch scheme. Went to buy a hedge trimmer for 149.00. The one the clerk brought looked like the same trimmer (but with a different scu.) Rang up for $219.00. GrrSpent 40 minutes trying to get it resolved. What a waste of my time.

Copy from another review since it’s related: Just had the worst experience. Looking for a specific item online, the website showed this store (Cedar Plaza, Mountlake Terrace) has in stock. So I went here, turns out they don’t have that particular item even thought the website showed in stock. Ok fine, no big deal. The worker gladly called their Edmonds store for me and said they have what I’m looking for. I asked him to double check if it was the specific version I needed and he said yes they will hold it for you. Ok, so I drive over to the Edmonds store, wasting another 20 minutes. And what do I find there? They got it all wrong and they don’t actually have the item. The lady was completely oblivious to the different item numbers that she clearly mistyped when the other store called them. Thanks for nothing. They could’ve at least apologized and offered me the other larger sized bag of what I needed at the price of the smaller bag, but nope. Just a sorry.

You need it, they have it. Hungry? Best fried chicken I have ever had. Auto license people really know their business.

I've had excellent service at this Ace hardware in the past from individuals who knew hardware and had the ability to listen to the customers' description of a problem and come up with practical solutions. Those "MacGyver" types are the jewels in any hardware store's crown -- and the reason why we love small town hardware stores and keep going back. But the woman who opened the store yesterday on Saturday was dour and rude. I made no comment -- I just observed her self-sabotaging behavior, quietly paid, and left... and did the rest of my shopping that day at Lowe's. Not everyone's a MacGyver -- but at least try -- or, at minimum, find a way to be useful and charming enough to not be a net drain on the operation. I felt sorry, too, for the young lad she was browbeating -- just another observation. But he'll learn in time that there are better working environments to be had. Great people understand teamwork and that's what makes any job great. Just hoping the great ones I've encountered in the past at this store haven't voted with their feet and left. Attitude is important.

Every time I visit Ace I'm reminded why I just need to come here first, instead of doing so after Home Depot has failed me. Ace packs more quality and selection into about ten percent of the space. Sure, you can't buy lumber here, or major appliances, but for things like nuts and bolts? No place better.

Welcome to Edmonds Bowl Ace Hardware! The most judgemental and stressful hardware store in all of Edmonds! Let me explain... I visited the store yesterday to pick up my car tabs (as it also has a WA state department of licensing inside) and needed a couple of other items. While browsing, I noticed a woman following me for reasons I can't explain. I eventually felt so uncomfortable that I left after not finding what I needed. Today I returned to pick up my tabs and remembered what I needed. Upon looking for a staple gun, the woman helping me ended up staying with me after selecting the item I was going to purchase. I needed to buy staples for the item and continued to look, so I gently asked her to leave me alone. Yes, it felt a bit passive, but after my experience the day before, I was in no mood to be watched like a child. I'm a 38-year-old with a fantastic tech job that allows me a comfortable lifestyle. When I had what I needed, I continued to look around more, and that's when the evil BRIAN (a skeleton of a human being) interjected himself into my shopping experience and commanded me to "respect my elders." Respect is a two-way street, and you jumping at me aggressively is not a way to earn it. I told him it wasn't an age thing and I felt profiled the day prior. The idea that I was profiled still blows my mind on so many levels! I am a middle-aged white woman in a black raincoat. Is a black raincoat all it takes to make old white people afraid in Edmonds? I can't help but think so. As I mentioned, I have absolutely no reason to steal, but now BRIAN has given me a good reason to inform my community. Tomorrow, I will be calling the store manager to further explain the power of diversity, customer profiling, and how ignorant old white men make it uncomfortable for regular old white women with no illegal agendas to shop at this store. This store is a pass for anyone who wears a long black raincoat, or if you're not a straight white man. Also, Brian is aggressive and has poor customer service skills.

Mostly Snotty old ladies that work here, not friendly or helpful. Disappointing considering most of Edmonds is filled with friendly people.

The last few times I’ve been here in the past month or two, the shelves seem a bit more empty. Staff is just ok. Feels like they only help because they have to, as if they are strained to be there. Manager is condescending, and seems bothered to have to help. Cashiers were friendly though. It’s convenient, but past couple months seem different.
