Total ripoff!!!! I bought 8oz of Tillamoock Mozzarella shredded cheese for $4.79, compared to $1.98 at Winco last week. The 29.5 oz Heinz no sugar added ketchup was $9.99 compared to $5.59 at Target. Medium sized cooked shrimp were over $12/lb compared to Winco $5.99/lb. I live in Des Moines at Wesley Homes, only about a mile or so away. I will never go there again. Winco is about 5 miles away and well worth the drive. The greed is disgusting. They know that the only grocery in Des Moines is a dollar store. This is rampant price gouging.

Safeway cares less about employees including Human Resources. Dr notes modify duty do not matter. If you can't do essential job duty. You can't work there. There lot of things they do that is very wrong. Letting shop lifters go free. You can't keep your send hydrated doing cart duty. So they only cares about money, customers employees they do not. Bad place to work. Unless you want your life to be like hell

Service by cashier, Sherie was exceptional. She left her position (there were no other customers waiting to be checked out.) She took us to the areas that should have had the ORCA cards. When they weren't to be found she decided on her own to continue looking while we did the rest of our shopping and found those cards which she had at the register on our return. She should be commended on her commitment to top-notch Customer Service.

I stopped by looking for greenery for some cupcakes and the woman in the floral department was fantastic! So friendly and helpful. I was happily surprised by how knowledgeable she was and how much time she spent helping me. The store was clean and well-organized. I'm just sorry I don't remember her name. I'll happily visit this store again. Nice work!

So, Safeway huh? Are we desperate for reviews? No, actually cynical self. I am reviewing the atmosphere, and a shout-out to the bakery counter. Pros: Safeway hours are nearly all day (5am to midnight) Charging station outside for an electric car Bakery service is 5 star service! Cons: Seedy area, not the store's fault Closed midnight to 5am Safeway has always been pricey Self checkout attentiveness (see below) First off, the cons. I want to cover that 2 employees watched our light go on as we needed help. A third walked up, and for a solid 3 minutes, they ignored us. We were in self checkout. Just scan the card please so I can leave. I was getting uncomfortable as a line was waiting. -2 stars. Bakery - y'all are on pointe! (#BalletShoutOut) That cookies and cream chocolate cheesecake lasted just long enough to smell it. It was ridiculous! My thanks for the sale, your knowledge, and an amazing shopping experience.+1 star I will return, mainly for that bakery. I wonder, do they still do sticky buns? (Stomach growls) Oh, they sell other food too :D

Easily accessible to my location. Smaller store but had what I needed. I was able to make a qucik stop for my essentials. Quick checkout and plentiful parking.

This Safeway is a friggen Gem . Lets start with Joyce, our lovely cashier today, not only does she just dangle her mask off one ear, she does even try to hide it pulling it down under her nose like the rest of the employees there. But she also wont say Hi, tell you your total of your purchase and then yell at you to "slide your card to pay" Gosh Joyce your such a joy. Not to mention the customer falling asleep in the Milk doors, but when I let an employee know hey that guy might need help, such great caring employee just shrugged shoulders and walked away. Gosh Safeway job WELL done on that customer service!!! Thank you!

I've been to this branch a few times on my way home while running errands. EXPIRED PRODUCT in all departments. Expired / moldy produce. Look, I get it 'covid' blah blah blah. Supply chain blah blah blah... employees calling out blah blah blah. Close the branch if things are that bad.

this is probably the worst grocery store i have ever been to, literally all the fruits and veggies are old and rotten. thete are no baskets at the store. you have to take a big cart no matter if youre only grabbing a few item. Employee not wearing masks. Only one or two lines open. I will literally drive twice as far to avoid this horrible store.

This is the worst Safeway in the area, Imo. Ive never seen so many maskless customers in one store. They dont enforce mask wearing like Trader Joes and Fred Meyer. The shoplifting here is insane!

I've been a loyal Safeway customer since I was a kid but this is got to be the worst Safeway I've ever been to. It's been my go-to place for the past year as it's the closest store to my house but I've grown weary of the long lines, dark parking lot and the lack of available carts.
