I got my baby cockatiel here in 2020 and it wasn’t the best experience. It very much felt like the smaller birds were considered the money makers and handled poorly. I feel as thought I was taken advantage of as a first time bird owner. I was told that my baby was dna tested and confirmed a girl, yet no documentation to prove it. I came to find out her actually a boy. The owner denied and said that he was tested and a girl but my veterinarian said otherwise along with his behaviors showing all signs of male. Secondly, the owner didn’t have a birth date for me and told me he was just weaned, even after I asked for a date of birth. When she showed up, she had him in a collapsing cloth carrier that was basically caving in on him and was very quick to hand him off and leave. I’m sure she takes wonderful care of her bigger birds, but her younger ones seem like it’s just for money and not out of love for the animal. I probably wouldn’t buy from here again after my experience, but I do love my baby and am thankful that he came into my life.

I've done business with Meg for 6 years now. She is really knowledgeable about her birds, she helps with anything you need help figuring out when you buy one of her little bundles of joy. She helped me when I got my very first bird. I was so nervous but she said to call anytime and she even picked up late at night. She helped me pick out the correct formula and even gave me some to start me out. She's given me chop instructions, ingredient dos and don't s, given me birdie bread recipes, recommended great toys and cages and is always so kind. She's helped me through first bird vet appointments and general nerves when it was my first bird. I've told many people about how great she is. If you're looking for a reputable breeder for birds look no further. Thank you Meg for bringing a lot of joy into my household!

Despite what google says, this is not a place with in-store shopping. Do not make a trip and expect to see birds. Everything should be pre-arranged with the number listed. I feel like giving fewer stars for the lack of up-to-date information, but that didn't feel right. When I spoke with the owner, we were given updated information, and I guess we should have called before driving for 5 hours.Best of luck to any bird lovers out there, but this is not a STORE of any kind. It is a private breeder with no "In-store shopping" as listed.

We are experienced bird owners, 16 years of fostering for a rescue in CA. We shopped around to find a young Indian Ringneck to add to our family forever. Meg and Whidbey Birds came up and were very close to us.Meg spoke to us via messenger to set up what we wanted and where to meet. I was hoping to come to the aviary to make sure I saw a healthy flock of breeding birds. Unfortunately she wants to keep her home private, which I can understand too. So we met in a parking lot and had a very quick transaction. I would have preferred to be able to ask more questions due to us bringing home a baby still on formula. But Meg said she would email us all the information we needed to know. When we arrived home and read through all her instructions, we followed them to a T. We also followed her advice of holding our little guy softly in a towel for 24hrs so he bonded to us when he wasn't in his heated tub. He was so scared and this bonding time of 24hrs made all the difference. From then on, he has been attached like Velcro. Meg also shared in her instructions on how he would go through a month of nipping and being sassy.....I'm so thankful that she walked us through that time...had we not known and just given up on holding him, I doubt we would have the incredible boy we have now, almost four years later. Our boy has almost half a million subscribers on TikTok and I always refer them to Meg. But it's really important you follow her directions exactly and see an avian veterinarian frequently to make sure no health issues arrive.

Meg is dishonest about simple things like gender. If she lies about something so simple, I can't imagine the other stuff she lies about. Would not recommend or use again. The reviews here are horrifying. I'm thankful our bird is healthy, but he is NOT what we agreed to. I only discovered bad reviews after buying from her. I would not have purchased otherwise. Buyer beware.

Don't buy unless you want a baby that's going to die of PBFD. I guess I will add RIP Therman to see if that jogs your memory.

I'm writing this review on behalf of my fiancée who is still heartbroken after having his beloved baby grey die of PBFD after just three months of having him. The vet that treated the bird to the tune of $10,000 dollars said that this disease 100 percent came from this breeder. We also consulted a breeder on Mercier Island who had bought some birds from this breeder and then almost lost the whole breeding program to PBFD. This disease not only kills but lives in the environment for years so we can not safely get another parrot until we move. If you wanna know the breeders response to all this lose and pain it was to offer him a discount on a new bird.

Meg was absolutely fabulous, she talked to my teenager and answered all her questions about what bird is best for beginners, everything she’d need, etc. She kept us informed of while we waited for the day our baby was ready to come home. She is only a phone call away when we have questions or concerns. Our little Kiko girl is absolutely perfect!!!

I've done a lot of business with Meg through the years. I've purchased several large and small breeds from her. They all come to me healthy and clearly loved, and ready to open their hearts to me. If I ever am concerned, all I have to do is call because she'll answer any and all of my questions. And even the babies from her that are the oldest recognize her voice when we talk on the phone and they always want to talk to "Mama Meg." It is clear she always feels that the birds she sends to homes are hers at heart. She will always view them as hers, and always wants what best for them.

My experience with Meg has been so amazing we had had to wait until our babies were ready and down to 2 feedings before they came home with us and I was so impatient because it took 3 months before our babies came home, but that is how professional she is. She makes sure that the babies are ready and the right age to go home. Even when I would check in quite a few times over 3 months she was kind and answered all of my questions and made sure we had a tote and a heating pad. I have had only positive experiences with Whidbey Birds and we have our babies now and they are thriving and my baby is singing that sweet violinsong that makes me smile and heart is so full right now thanks to our friends that we will be getting more baby birds from in the future?

I have been in contact with Meg about getting a Macaw and have now become a new owner of a 7 week old Catalina Macaw. Meg has been very helpful and would recommend her if anyone is interested in getting one of her birds.
