Found a stray and was very worried about him they made me feel so safe about leaving him there while we found his people and we did he only stayed 1 night with me and 1 night with them ? they are truly caring and loving to these little babies. The front desk girl was amazing ❤️

WAIF is built to a state of the art operations for the safety and comfort of the animals. There is a large trail system through the woods for walks, a giant play yard to run in and a large quiet corner space for sniff walks making it a great place to volunteer and get to know the dogs. The cats have it made too with many rooms to socialize. Being a stray animal is not so hard luck at WAIF!

Awesome support for pets needing a new home. They access each animal. You get the shots & neuter histories. They spend time with each creature figuring out if it can live w other animals, children, need for fence or enclosure etc.

Great shelter! Clean environment, helpful staff, and we'll socialized animals. Nothing like I expected from an animal shelter. The woman at the desk answered all my questions, and told us about the various services this shelter provides for the community. 10/10 recommend.

WAIF staff have been knowledgeable and helpful with the recent adoption of my kitten through this agency. Especially, I would like to say that "Dee" has been so nice. She takes time to talk about everything that should be considered when placing a new pet into a new household. I appreciate her expertise and experience at WAIF. I am thrilled with the kitten I adopted, she is healthy and lively and loving. Another life saved and placed into a welcome environment with the help of WAIF. Thank you for what you do for so many animals!

You'd be better off never going here in the first place, they get your hopes up and then put them down with some random idiotic reason to deny you and the animal from a living situation better than the ones they're in at the shelter.

This has to be the cleanest most organized.Shelter I've been in. Stephanie.Escorted me and showed me some adoption ideas.She is perfect for the job she has a heart of gold. I'm.Very sensitive.When It comes to animal shelters. It's hard to walk through these places without having a tear in your eye. Thank God.That. There are people like Stephanie?That care. My hats are off.To all of you that work at this shelter.I know you work hard. And it shows.. God bless.

The staff were knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We are new to the island, and they informed our family about the danger of coyotes and eagles for small dogs and cats on Whidbey. We were shocked at the amount of missing cats on this island. Our new kitty will be indoors only!

I adopted a young cat from WAIF in December. She was well socialized and fit into our existing dog/cat family beautifully. She loves everyone. This was my first adoption from WAIF and I appreciate the time they took to help me find the right fit.
