Given wrong rock. I VERY respectfully contacted their dispatch but there was no effort at ALL on their part to come to a resolution. We have been using Sterling Breen for 2 years since we first bought our land & started developing it. We have never had an issue & we order the exact same gravel EVERY time. We have ordered thousand of dollars worth of gravel from them. They have always been very nice, great drivers, we always tip the driver, no issues. Last week we rented a Bobcat on our day off & I ordered 2 loads of the same gravel we always get from them, 1 1/4" minus. When I got home from work I noticed that one load was wrong. I emailed them , no response, left a voicemail, no response (2 of the days were a weekend) . I explained in the messages/email that we had rented equipment and weren't sure what to do with this wrong rock. Due to only having the Bobcat for a limited time, We felt we had no choice but to try and make it work but we couldn't get the 2 loads mixed together with a short 4 hours we had available to do the job. It didn't end up working like I had hoped. I called again and left a message with an employee. No phone call back so Monday so I called again and spoke with Brandy. I sent her pictures of the difference in the 2 loads (attached here). She offered no apology & no possible resolution. I was hoping she would do the right thing and offer to send out a small amount of crushed rock to help compact the loose rock. She did not. I asked for prices of something to help compact it & hung up afterwards, frustrated that we would have to spend another $300 plus JUST to rent another Bobcat to spread something to fix the situation in addition to at least a couple hundred more for a small load of crushed rock to compact the areas. The more I thought about it the more upset I became & I emailed asking for any kind of a discount, or to bring out a small amount of something crushed to help pack the loose rock. She refused. She said once it is dumped they won't do anything & they don't give refunds or discounts. Well, we can't see the gravel until it is dumped so there's that... I explained it was no fault of our own & as good business practice especially to a good return customer, you would think you could offer a small discount or SOMETHING. I would have appreciated even a 10% discount. No response but did not expect one at that point. I deleted my previous positive review for them & am now posting this. If you look at, at least one other review here, someone else had the same issue and they DID refund that person after the load was dumped. I guess they don't value their customers like I originally thought they did however I never asked for a refund. I asked for a discount on our next load that would be to fix the situation. We will suck it up and pay more for delivery from someone a little further out. Paid around $380 for a load of the wrong rock even though receipt was written correctly saying it was 1 1/4" minus. What a waste of time and money as well as very disappointing that a business we held a high opinion of and refer many people to, just simply DOES NOT CARE. Better we find out now than continue using them to develop our property.

Great people very safety conscious. Good flow in and out with customer trucks along with company trucks. Nice newer equipment

Delivered one load of the incorrect kind of rock and almost delivered another after I called and corrected it, driver had to return it. I was charged for a truck and trailer on the incorrect rock when it was just a single truck. They did refund me for the trailer's worth of incorrect rock, they honestly should have given it to me for free since it was their mistake and I can't really use it. Other than that, the pea gravel that was delivered correctly is about as good as rock gets :)

Not a bad place for rock, but most is "river rock" and it will NOT pack.
