Even on the 4th of July the beach furthest from the campground was quiet and peaceful. I'm guessing most people go to the boat launch part of the beach. The campground is what you'd expect from a WA state camp site, the sites are close together with little privacy. Toilets were clean and well maintained. The camp host was very personable. Well worth the visit. The beach is rocky and down a steep flight of stairs so bring good shoes, and beware if you have mobility issues.

(We were camping.) The scenery was awesome. When we went to the beach, we could see the moon shining bright. Once we even saw a blood moon! So pretty. But the reason I gave it 3 stars instead of 5 is because first, there were tons of mosquitoes. Even though we expected mosquitoes, we didn't expect them to leave huge marks and itching problems. Second, so me and my dad went on a hike from the beach to the campsite. But when we walked 0.7 miles, we found out that rest of the trail was closed. At the beginning of the trail, the trail didn't say anything about being closed up ahead!

Great views. Rocky Beach but great picnic area with parking and tables. Nice walking path. Shade and sun.

Very tranquil and quiet when we were there. Nice hikes and beaches. Showers were disgustingly dirty for want of a five minute hose down. Have to load up with drinking water at the dump station before setting up as all the water stations throughout did not have the normal screw fitting for a hose.

Large park, plenty of driving and hiking trails. Lovely beach & grassy areas with benches. Very cold in winter but still beautiful.

Cama Beach State Park was my favorite state park out of the two on Camano Island. It's more developed and I really enjoyed all of the trails here along the slope and the trails going down to the beach. There are a lot of cabins down at the actual beach for rental so you can spend nights down at the beach. The thing I was most taken with this state park were the beach front views. Very beautiful and I'm sure quite a beautiful sight at sunset!

Had lunch with friends there and we all thought the food was not as good as our last visit in late 2019. Not sure what changed or what but there are other places to try.

Nice state park with lots of waterfront on Camano Island. Great views out to Saratoga Passage. Today there were a couple of huge container ships anchored out by Whidbey Island. Love all the large driftwood logs along the beach...fun to hop along and balance!!! Campsites here are pretty close together but there is plenty of shade.

I'm struggling to understand how closing state park bathrooms to the public, and instead providing port-a-potties is a reasonable way to reduce the spread of covid. Instead of cleaning established bathrooms, there are two port-a-potties sitting at the Camano State Park day use area- both completely filthy, absolutely full, no toilet paper, no sanitizer and apparently not cleaned for how long? The park is CREATING a possible health crisis through this neglect, not preventing one. Compared to many other state parks, there's not a lot to talk about at CISP. The interpretive nature trail is nice, and great for families- just 1/2 mile long. The beach areas are rocky, the views underwhelming. Not a fan.

I was lucky enough to have been able to stay at the Camano Beach Cabins as a teenager (way back in 1976-77).... It was family owned back then. I have so many fun memories from the times we stayed there. Each evening, in the club house the owner played a selection of movies for us to watch. I don't remember there being a paved entrance to the cabins, but we got to park our car next to our cabin. The owner was such a nice lady. A button had fallen off of my sweater, so I asked her if she had some needle and thread so I could sew it back on. She did. She also took the time aside to teach me the proper way to secure that particular style (shank) button that had fallen from my sweater. It was a small gesture, but her act of kindness has stayed with me my entire life.

Really beautiful state park, with a nice cafe and super clean bathrooms. We stayed in one of the waterfront cabins which was cute, clean, and had a heater. I thought it was a little pricey for the winter considering you can't use the fire pits for most of the season due to the rain so cooking options are limited to what you can microwave, and the shuttle is currently shut down so it was pretty difficult to haul bags/coolers down to and back up from the cabin. If you aren't able to handle steep trails, I definitely wouldn't suggest staying at one of these cabins until the shuttle is running again. If you do stay in the cabins, there are carts you can use to bring your stuff down a pretty steep unpaved trail to the cabins and back up to the loading area when you leave. There is currently only a microwave and fridge in the cabins, and you will need to bring your own bedding (normally quilts are supplied, but due to covid they aren't available right now). You have to clean the cabin yourself before leaving (sweep and mop the floors, clean counters, table, and sink, etc), and the gift shop/store down there are currently closed too. I wouldn't recommend staying here if there's a chance of rain on the day you're arriving or leaving, because bringing items in the metal carts up/down the trail would be super slippery and not easily managed. You're not allowed to drive down to the cabins unless it is for handicap parking.

This was a beautiful spot so close to Seattle! Great beach/park space for picnicking. Fewer options for hiking but maybe we just didn't look hard enough. We camped one night. The sites we're clean, well marked and we'll maintained. However, the trees were pretty thinned and we could see directly into about 6 other sites from our own making it feel less private than other campgrounds (even other state park campgrounds). We'd definitely consider going again. We'd also consider looking for more private campgrounds.

My family visited this park on a sunny Sunday in August. We hiked the 3 mile loop trail which took us up on the bluff with a fantastic view of the bay and returned us to the boat launch where we parked. Lots of people were putting their boats in the water while others were settled in at the various picnic tables along the beach front. The beach itself is very rocky, so it's hard to walk. Several clean restrooms are available at the parking lot/boat launch area. Definitely a scenic place to visit on a sunny weekend day. You do need a Discover Pass to park your car.
