The stay at the candle wood suites in Burlington WA was a nightmare, if have a fear of dogs or are allergic to dogs this isn’t the hotel for you. The manager there has a black golden retriever that is NEVER on a leash that is there everyday and possibly may come in contact with you. Not to mention the trash bags is left in the lobby. And we were also bitten by bed bugs but they claim the pest control came and no bed bugs were found WHICH I HAVE PROOF OF FINDINGS ON THE BED!!! Michaela is very rude I was ask to leave the hotel just because I would like to take rather legal action into the bed bugs situation. And the pest control company that came there to check the room is “Aahrats pest control” which is rude himself he claims he been in business over 30 years but only has 3 reviews his site.. and I honestly feel they personally know each other because again he come off very rude as well. The only good thing about the hotel is the helpful staff.

Not the newest place, but clean and extremely helpful staff. We stayed while house hunting for 3 months, so the free laundry on site meant a lot more than a free breakfast that we would have gotten sick of fast. Any issues were dealt with quickly and with no fuss. A bit far from Oak Harbor, but that's why it's so much more affordable. If we were here for the Tulip festival or something in Skagit County, the location would be excellent. Easy in and out, plenty of parking. Lots of good restaurants nearby, but the kitchenette is a huge help, though. I'd bring an air fryer if I had one for long stays, I missed my oven. Pretty well outfitted, could add a spatula.

Great place to stay with a small kitchenette stocked with dishes, silverware and pots. The cupboard is great if you need more cooking pans. It does not have an oven. The beds were comfortable and the area was quiet. We are repeat customers and it was great to see everything the same as last year. We stayed 7 days each time. It is affordable.

Perfect for our stay. Free laundry on site (you just have to bring or purchase your own detergent and/or dryer sheets) with three washers and three dryers. When we first checked in, first room was smokey and staff accommodated us very quickly to a clean room. Good location if going hiking into the North Cascades and convenient to the highway as well.

Looking for a place to stay as my husband, our little girl dog and I are traveling from Tumwater, Wa to Vancouver, Canada, this seemed like a good stop for us as my husband didn't want to make the full drive and I really dislike arriving at a hotel at 10 pm or later. So I found this Candlewood Suites Burlington on my hotels.com app and decided to book a night to stay here. This hotel was surprisingly very affordable for a Saturday evening with only being $129 (prior to tax) and offers quite a spacious room with a king size bed. The pet fee was only $20 and we were very happy to have found out that they offer complementary dryer and washer for use (you just have to use your own detergent and dryer sheets). This was very helpful, as we ended up doing a load in the washer and then divided our load into 2 dryers (since no one was using them and it is faster to dry jeans this way from your other clothes). There are 3 washers to use and 4 dryers available. We checked in around 6:15 pm by a friendly employee. She gave us our keys and then we unloaded our car (they have luggage dollies at the front) and headed to our room, which was on the first floor. We had a kitchen and a full size fridge and microwave in our room, a fairly good size bathroom with plenty of counter space (I always dislike when bathrooms have so little counter space), Dove brand bath products, Dove soap bar, TV and desk that I was able to set up my laptop. The WiFi was fast and very happy that it never dropped while I was taking a test to earn a certification in my profession (I only had one attempt and so I was little nervous wondering if I would get dropped but I never did. Oh and I did pass for anyone that is wondering). Although there is no breakfast provided, you do have a kitchen in your room that you can use, which we did. So that wasn't a problem for us. Now one thing I do want to mention is that the walls between rooms are thin, as I heard neighbors around us. Also there is a train that seems to run at all hours of the day and evening, as I heard them throughout the evening. I am a pretty light sleeper so I didn't sleep that well but my husband (who is a heaver sleeper) was just fine. I have stayed at a bed and breakfast in Texas where there was a train nearby and that train was incredibly loud. This train wasn't nearly as loud but do want to mention this for those that may find this to be a problem.Because of the train and the thin walls, I am a bit indifferent and not sure if I would stay here again. But to us, there does seem to be more pros than cons. Overall, I would still rate this hotel 4 stars.

I had such a wonderful experience at this hotel. The kitchen was fully functional with many pots and pans able to be used. Everything was extremely clean. The rooms were perfectly air conditioned. They have enough shower gel, conditioner, and shampoo for multiple people in a room. Coffee is free. Staff is very nice. This hotel is able to be accessed for people 18 and older, which might be helpful information for young travelers looking where to stay, especially because many hotels require 21+.

Stayed in the King Suite, the bed hard as stone, I sleep hot and there was no Ac vent in the bedroom. So I paid over $200.00 and slept on the pull out couch. I understand that the rooms have kitchens but for those of us who are only one night stay and did not grocery shop they do not offer a complimentary breakfast. The lobby coffee is a gross vending machine coffee. Very disappointed and I will not stay here again.

Excellent and helpful staff!
Very roomy, good assortment of kitchenware and dishes in the rooms.
NO breakfast, however!?!

Wonderful place to stay. I was so tickled to see, essentially, a mini kitchen in the room. Including an apartment size refrigerator, a smaill stovetop, dishes. You could fix your breakfast before you head out for your day. Staff is friendly and very nice.

I am really liking Candlewood. This was my 3rd or 4th stay with this chain and it is quickly becoming my favorite.Room was clean and in good working order. The bed was comfortable. There were electrical outlets easily accessible with USB ports for charging. Easy access off Interstate 5.

The room was clean and in working order. Very comfortable bed. Do wish room temp could have been controlled as I like a cool room which wasn't possible even with window open. I set room temp control to fan only and it switched to heater, luckily I had set to coolest setting of 65°. Late evening check in woman was very pleasant. Easy access from I5.
