Going to the gym here has been fine, but trying to get ahold of anyone to cancel has been a nightmare. I'm about to do a chargeback and have my bank block future transactions. Incredibly unprofessional, I wish the business relationship didn't end this way.

Trying to cancel my membership today is a very sketchy process designed to make you give up. I was told I can cancel anytime when I joined and now I'm learning that after receiving written notice I want to cancel, they will still bill for another 30 days.

UPDATE*****The owner, Don, replied to my review as soon as I posted it with a general bland copy and paste type message he probably found from google. So thoughtful! As of right now, the problem hasn’t been fixed and I still have yet to hear back from Scammer Don. What a joke!If I could give 0 stars, I would. First, I called about three times and the first two calls were picked up BUT no answer on the other end..you can just literally hear the person on the other side breathing. The third time, someone picked up (HALLELUJAH) and I’m going to assume it’s the owner.Informed him that my husband and I are moving to town and this gym is closest to our home so we wanted an idea on prices for memberships. Immediately - I was cut off and was told “give me a call when you’d like to come in, we have many packages”. Confused, I responded asking if the prices are a secret? As a customer I’d like to know what the price range would be as there are other gyms within a 10 mile radius.Again, he brushed me off and told me to call when we’re in town and he’d only share prices if I come into the gym to look at it. Strange right? Makes you think hmmm ?Anyways, stay away and don’t waste your time here. The owner sounds like a scam artist and I’m sure this is the type of place that would charge you hidden fees and give you a fit about canceling etc. After seeing other negative reviews on here I’m thinking YIKES. Do better!

Don is a con man. Don't go to this gym they charge you way to much. If you try to cancel he won't pick up or answer any emails until it's to late.

Gym is fine: patrons are nice; machines were clean when I worked out overnight; nice to have secure access overnight. However, owner dragged out cancelation procedures a few months when I moved away... during my membership, he was very helpful and quick to return my calls UNTIL I tried to cancel, then he couldn't be reached and I had to cancel those monthly payments on my own credit card those months. Shady - glad I insisted on not giving my bank info liked he tried to compel at sign up.

***UPDATE: He kicked me out and "cancelled my account" but refused to show me proof. He is STILL trying to charge my account but will not answer any phone calls or emails that I have sent to verify cancellation has taken place. I put a stop payment on my account and the attorney generals office is involved. Apparently he was arrested again so good luck getting ahold of him. DO NOT I repeat DO NOT give this man your bank info, card information or sign up. He also is not sending automated text messages to our phones from a subscription service without consent. It is illegal to receive SMS texts from a business unless the consumer has explicitly opted in themselves which leads me to believe that he is illegally signing patron up, and non patrons of his business and stealing their information to send harassment for money without our consent.***

This place is small they charge way to much. You are stuck in a 1 year contract no matter what happens financially. They made the contract air tight. If I knew I couldn’t get out of the contract I wouldn’t sign up with this pushy guy. You’ll still get charge a small fee even if you freeze your account. Look at the other reviews before signing up I should of done that. This place will rob you. You’ll end up paying almost $200 the first month. Then on the second month they will charge you another small fee on top of the monthly bill. Don’t trust this place.

DON'T SIGN UP. This is a scam. I signed up thinking I would be supporting a nice small business. I quickly find out the owner is a thug, many of the services they claim to have aren't there, and there's no one to talk to about a refund. So I keep calling to try and get someone on the phone (The Owner) and out of 10 calls during business hours I only get ahold of him 3 times. You WILL NOT GET A REFUND WITHIN 3 DAYS. You will never get ahold of this guy in time. Lastly don't listen to the other reviews, a lot of them are fake. he pays people to write good reviews.

First of all, there are NO personal trainers or group classes here as it says in many descriptions and advertisements. Even though I worked out here for years I only saw 2 trainers and they never stayed more than a few weeks. The last one was there over 5 years ago. There were briefly group classes more than 5 years ago. Also there is no zumba, pilates, yoga, kickboxing, or crossfit as is advertised in services. Never saw any of it and I was there for years. The dishonesty here is typical and it doesn't get better.Don Smolich, and his recent criminal activities have already been posted on here. Yelp has a post so you can check it so i won't repost it. They include domestic violence. He has also had recent DUI's and can't get a handle on his substance abuse issues. This affects the gym since the police come looking for him.People have said in their reviews they love that the gym is always locked. It is locked because you need a key card to get in. There are no staff to let you in. If you have a billing problem or you lose your key card you are screwed. No, your friend cannot let you in or they will be fined and yelled at when the owner finds out. The place used to be staffed from 5AM to 8PM to deal with membership issues but that hasn't been the case in years. Nobody has been at the front desk at all in 14 months. It amazes me how irresponsible the owner is and cannot stay on top of maintenance or basic member issues but is all over members letting other members in they know for good reasons. You will not be able to use the gym for at least days if you have an entry issue or even weeks if the owner is in jail. He is in jail a lotSearch for Don Smolich and you will find the Better Business Bureau dropped him and 25 years ago the state came after him for ripping off customers and it has continued. He never learns. Also there are verifiable links and case numbers in the Yelp review to validate claims about his criminal history or just do a background check on Don Smolich. Also don't believe all the 5 star reviews popping up about what a friendly positive guy Don is. Look around on the internet and you will find a thug trying to white wash himself with fake reviews on here. The place does feel dangerous and the only reason he has any customers is a few other major gyms in the area closed down from the pandemic. I regret helping to keep this place afloat.Everybody was hoping he'd get serious prison time and have to sell the equipment and someone else would take over. That didn't happen and I cannot continue to enable this loser. By the way he doesn't own the building. He went bankrupt at one point and sold the building to pay his debts. He rents it back and is seriously behind. The other relief of leaving is not fearing the place could close down at anytime due to financial problems. Very unstable place.

I really like this gym. Extraordinarily clean and door is kept locked so that transients can’t gain access. Great machines kept clean and in working condition, plus good freeweight area. Highly recommend.

ProFitness is a hidden gem! Very clean, well maintained and I never have to wait for machines. The owner is amazing and sets a comfortable and friendly environment. So glad I chose the to sign up here instead of some other gym.
