Incredibly rude security guards and managers. The staff are very pushy and care more about doing whatever they are doing than letting customers buy things.

This store is getting worse and worse on being treated like a criminal. What about the older people who need help with carrying groceries home. They can no longer bring roller bads in. With about 5 security people waiting to handcuff you as ypu enter store. It's awful!

We mostly use the grocery pick-up nowadays but it's always a good experience. Thomas is usually working and is friendly and efficient. Great discounts on gas too!

All things considered this Fred Myers has weathered the opioid crisis, and thereby the resulting crime wave rather well. By that I mean the place doesn't feel like the bottom rung of society has had they're way with it. It's not trashed and you don't feel like you're under Surveillance all the time...... Though I imagine you are.

Like all grocery stores, variety stores . SECURITY PROTOCOL SYSTEMS ARE BECOMING A PAIN IN THE A. GENERALLY ALL SECURITY STAFF TREAT EVERYBODY, MAN, WOMEN,CHILDREN, WHITE,ASIAN,MEXICAN GRINGOS, ALL OF US LIKR WE'RE THIEVES POACHERS. THE SAFEWAY STORE IN BURIEN HAS NOW CLOSED THEIR BATHROOMS. I'M AN OLD MAN, MY BLADDER IS NOT AS EFFICIENT AS IT WAS YEARS AGO. THAT POLICY IS JUST PLAIN RRUUDDEE¡!!!!!!WON'T GO BACK TO THAT SSTTOORREE. But it looks like that's the general busses belief now, what's next,,the employees ?01/31/24Today, I was shopping Fred Meyers, for things that I wasn't able to find in other stores.Small dry eraser boards, one to put outside my new apt. Door, so that when people come by when I am not home, can leave a message & phone number . The other one is for me to help remember things that I need to take with me. Bathtub safety floor stickers & one more suction cup wall handle. Found a small zippable bag to store the new cassette tapes, I've been buying. Also found in the electronic Dept, a pretty good selection of older DVD ? IT'S been interesting for me to restock a household essentials. Not cheap anymore! But, it has been fun.Stephen C HAYES ?

Anything and everything from food to house to auto to garden to clothes & sporting gear. A great place for one-stop shopping! The only change since my initial review is now security detail must check your receipt upon leaving. Shoplifting had become a problem - still a great place to shop.

I was just told not to return to Fred Meyer because of my dog, which everyone loves! They also said that I’m not allowed to carry my firearm when coming into the store, consider them boycott!

When I first came to Washington in 2014 Fred Meyer was 30% cheaper than Safeway but now I think they one of the most expensive places. They also don't have a good selection I often see empty shelves and recently have been out of basic things. They used to have alot of checkers/short lines but now they have only a few checkers and you are forced to use self checkout if you don't want to wait in a long line. They also are too cheap to invest in a decent security system and instead won't let you leave the store until they have checked you're receipt. Its funny how they can't use any of the money they save by not having checkers to upgrade their security cameras/scanners.

I can't believe this place has 4 stars. I would give 0 if it was an option. Codes on bathrooms that are hard to get from staff. Receipt check by rude security. All bad. Just find a better store experience elsewhere.

Expensive, dirty, and they treat you like a criminal. I have been shopping at the store for over a decade, and I spend a stupid amount of money here. Anywhere you look, there is garbage or it looks like somebody barfed. The shopping carts often have garbage in them. The garbage cans are never not full, which doesn’t even seem possible. There are about 100 Fred Meyer employees roaming around the store, and you quite often have to navigate around them, because they are clogging the aisles, and yet many items are out of stock. I go to the self check out because it is usually faster and also to avoid dealing with their employees if possible. The self checkout has a scale that weighs every individual item that I check, so the computer knows that I’m not stealing anything. Also, they have a video camera watching every move I make. I put in my customer ID number, so that they know it’s me, the same person who has been coming there for more than 10 years and spending ungodly sums of money. Still, the computer will say that I might have not scanned something, even though it is checking by weight and by camera. Then my light has to blink for several minutes until the clerk finally comes over and says, well it looks like you didn’t steal anything, just like the last 500 times the computer asked me to come over here and check. Then, after I’m done checking out, I have to go past the security guard who checks my receipt. He’s not even really looking at anything. It’s not like he would know if I actually stole something. It’s just like it’s an extra way for Fred Meyer to tell their customers, we really don’t like you, and we want to make your experience at this dirty, expensive store, even worse than it already is. Why do I keep shopping here? What is wrong with me?

I waited in line for an hour for customer service. Then out of the blue they said they'd be closing early around 7:30 and arbitrarily picked a place in line where customers had been waiting for a while and told them that customer service was closing and the last person they were helping was the person right in front of them.

Do yourself a favor & just do a pickup order. You'll get what you get the same way as if you went into the store just minus the headache of going in. The cashiers are understaffed, half the self checkout lanes don't work & the stock is hit & miss at best between availability & sell-by/use-by.

I don’t know if they’re intentionally understaffing or what, but the long lines are horrendous at this location. That and the new gates and security at the front make it feel like they think you’re a criminal the moment you step in the door. The stupid security gate has hit me twice, the last time it clipped my hip and actually hurt. I usually shop and Trader Joe’s down the street where they manage to keep the lines short and treat their staff and customers like humans.

Overall the store is okay, but the security is stupid. I don't how many times I catch them following me for no reason. One time I had to step aside from the check stand to call the bank to deposit money in my account. At least 3 security guards surrounded me from afar while I called my bank.

The layout has always been confusing here and made it difficult to find what I was looking for, but now that the prices are as expensive or more than Safeway on top of it, I will probably refrain from ever shopping here again. This will only get worse with the merger!
