I bought a turntable next door walked in with it to have him check it ought. Told me it was a good one, and sold me a cable to connect it to my JBL sound bar. Worked perfectly for $5 but I paid him $10. Great guy!

This company ripped us off ! We sent an amp to them along time ago, he explained to us the parts were hard to get at the time which we totally understand. But, after a year we called several times and couldn’t reach anyone on the phone until this week. They said our amp was sold for parts and that anything left for more than thirty days is subject to be sold even though it was them that claimed it could take months to get certain proprietary parts and claimed that he had other amps in there for over a year as well. We never received a call or a response to our messages. They stole our amp.

My Yamaha Clavinova CVP-208 was freezing after 6 minutes. I first took it to a different shop, who told me it could not be fixed and that person gave me a card to a piano dealership to buy a replacement piano. I then turned to Ed at EFEX. He did some research, talked to Yamaha, then he fixed it. I am very happy with what Ed did for me.

Ed is the real deal. Over 40 yrs of experience, super detail-oriented, and very generous with his knowledge and time.Most repair people I’ve met are serious, aloof and dry, but Ed is very approachable, funny and professional. He repairs to spec (ie he knows & follows what manufacturers are saying, uses factory authorized parts) and this is his passion in life.I brought in an old Roland JC-120 amp and electric guitar and man did he knock it out of the park. He took a look and decided he can do it while I wait, taking pauses to explain to me what he was finding. As he worked, I just kept asking him questions, took pictures and he was so happy to help me learn more about my gear from his perspective.I’ve never gotten this level of service so yea, I’d recommend him over anyone else you can find in the city. If you live elsewhere in the city proper, this might even be worth the drive.

I highly recommend Efex Electronics. Ed is a great guy and very knowledgeable and not afraid to share that knowledge. Not pretentious in the least and fair pricing. I would take my music equipment to him in a heartbeat.
