i have been shopping here for years and the service I received today was the worst. The checker was condescending and rude. Hertone was snippy and when I told her she needed to stop being rude she snapped back. Let's just say she shouldn't be in customer service and the manager I spoke with was very dismissive as well. He didn't take the interaction serious. If your dealing with customers you need to have some sort of people skills and there was nonetoday. Very disappointed Safeway in your employee interaction including management. If you want loyal shoppers you better step up your customer service skills and hire managers that care.

Great fresh food. Fast friendly service. Clean and stocked. Not a big store, but has what I need and then some.

I was checking out at self checkout & I had a medium sized amount of items. The cashier was a very large tall man, I believe his name was Dan. We needed assistance with one of our items and we were waiting for him to come and help us. We look over and he was eating chocolate and chatting with his coworker. We waited for about a minute, watching him proceed to eat more chocolate and laugh. He then noticed us, ate another piece of chocolate, then walked over. After he helped us with our purchase, he very unprofessionally told us that we needed to go into a different line next time because we had too many items. He was pretty much telling us that we disturbed his chocolate eating time & that he didn't want to assist us, also known as doing his job. We did not have that many items, we carried them a mile and a half home with ease. We will avoid him at all costs from now on and this is our home Safeway that we go to all the time. He really should focus on his job instead of giving attitude to customers and eating chocolate instead of deciding to help them.

This is a Safeway I have a fair bit of experience with and I'll tell you that most of the staff here are trash. The early midday shift is filled with eyes glazed over cashiers with minimal conversation skills. The night time people are potheads and the management are minimally involved, more inclined to vaping and listening to music. The owner is an absolute bubbly tool who spends all of 30 minutes on the sales floor being a cashier and letting his jaw run. The lines are long and no one knows how to handle groceries. I'd rather go to the Safeway in Bothell or in Mill Creek. Don't deal with the criminal customers and the garbage employees who aren't paid enough to be there.

We are new to the area and looking for a new grocery store. Shopped at 2-3 mediocre Safeways until we found this location. This is it. Layout is the same, easy to find items, well stocked, great prices, clean store, well-lit trash-free parking lot with ample parking in wide spaces. This will be our regular store for weekly shopping. A little bit out of fur way for us but worth the trip.

I'll be honest, I stop here occasionally for convenience but it isn't Safeway isn't my main grocery store and this location has not changed that. The staff are courteous and the store layout is pretty good. Everything is easy to find and the produce department is really well lit (I realize that's a weird compliment - but it drives me CRAZY when I can't see my produce properly and when I get home they look sad!) The food from the teriyaki counter is generally fresh and doesn't look like its been sitting under the heat lamps for 2 days - plus my kids love it so its an easy "take out" meal. Check out is pretty easy especially with ample self-checkout stations and staff to assist. We'll probably continue to stop here when convenience necessitates it.

Worst experience at a grocery store by far. I'm waiting in line for over 5 minutes. The couple in front of me was just putting their groceries on the belt. a cashier from another check stand says "i can help whosever next in line" which was me. so i walk over there and some hispanic lady with a full cart bolts in front of me and takes the spot he initially called me over for. So now i lost my spot in the pervious line and now had to wait behind this lady who had an entire cart full of groceries because the cashier didn't want to say anything. Even though HE called me over he did not say anything to the lady who rudely cut in front of me. By the time he started scanning my items, TWO PEOPLE THAT WERE BEHIND ME ALREADY CASHED OUT AND LEFT. The cashier did not apologize at all until I started voicing my situation. He gave me nothing to make my experience any better besides excuses. As I noticed how this clown of an employee wasn't going to do anything I requested to speak to a manager. He replied with "I am the manager". I told him I want to talk to someone else and he DID NOT give me the actual general manager of the store's name or number or ANYTHING!!!!! I had to call the customer service after I left just to get the general managers name and info because ELIJAH refused to give me any info about him. So thanks a lot ELIJAH. For making this the worst experience i've ever had at a grocery store.

First off, I'd like to say that the staff are ok. The management is horrible. Just over all horrible. This location might as well be closed or every manager fired. Not only do they close 20-30 min earlier than they are supposed to NEARLY EVEY DAY. -this is a problem because I work long hrs and sometimes have to swing by to get some last minute groceries. I'm so tired of their managers attitude AND their customer service. I've already spent too much time on this ridiculous Safeway. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR... Drive to the one in mill creek. Better selection and staff, ROFL I can't believe I have to say this about a grocery store, but they actually stay open till close

Every employee at this location is wonderful, but Jill. I've contacted corporate about her, but no one has reached out until this Yelp review.I wonder why?

Giving this place 5/5 just because of the air refilling station. Xact Air is so nice!

This location has the biggest and best produce department in town. Come here for the fruits and veggies you would never find at an average local grocery store--it even beats Yakima Fruit Market for selection. The aisle of non alcoholic beverages is phenomenal! The pharmacy staff went above and beyond trying to locate some specific medical supplies I need. I am truly grateful. I've always found the staff to be helpful and courteous. Maybe you have run into an employee who needs additional training, but don't begrudge the entire staff based on one personal encounter. Remember these are essential employees who barely make minimum wage and are most likely not eligible for vaccination. Be kind!

Worst of the 20+ Safeway's I've been to in my life. Poor service, really bad selection, and they block exits without marking them so people just walk into the automatic doors. Took 3 visits before I gave up and decided to drive another 5 minutes to my old Safeway moving forward.

Signs at both entrances state carts are sanitized. I watched as a staff member brought in a long line of carts and placed them in the area designated "Sanitized Carts." When asking why the sign said something untrue, I was told that people sanitize their own. In speaking with someone supposedly in management, I was told it would be brought to the attention of the manager. All signs were still in place when I left. The signs have been in place for several months, beginning when staff were positioned at each entrance actually sanitizing carts for customers. The staff have long been absent from either entrance and no one has been been sanitizing carts. I can sanitize my own cart, but find it dangerous, particularly for at-risk customers to state the carts are already sanitized. I was given the impression this was not a high priority at all. Also observed on this trip were pharmacy personnel eating and drinking at the window behind the counter, behavior that is unacceptable in handling of medications. These things coupled with a poor selection of items (no small canned pineapple, plain 4% yogurt, dark rye bread) are causing my departure. It seems they are never out of stock on Safeway Select or O Organics branded items, as if to force you to buy them instead of your preferred brand. I have only recently shopped a couple of times at Central Market in Mill Creek. They still have staff sanitizing carts and handing them out to customers. They have sanitizer available throughout the store and encourage social distancing. The products are of a much higher quality and the selection is wide and varied. The service is always outstanding. Yes, it's more expensive, but as the sage adage goes, you get what you pay for. Safeway? Not so safe. I'm outta here.
