Let me tell you a little bit about my experience here.I came to Nitro K-9 because there was an incident with one of my dogs at a groomer. It wasn’t his first incident but it was the first time it occurred to someone outside of the family. I knew something had to be done. Initially I thought I would have to give him up or worse.Thankfully, I found Nitro K-9 and they said we can work through it. We did (7) 1 1/2 hour sessions (45 minutes for each dog). For my dog that had the incident, he now looks and asks for direction and knows what is expected of him. We haven’t had an incident at the groomer since. My other dog was super reactive to other people and other dogs. Now, with the training received, we can walk side by side to another dog and he won’t even acknowledge the other dog. Before Nitro K-9, I was turned off to walking my dogs due to the reactivity and spontaneous outbursts of aggression. Now, it’s an everyday thing.Nitro K-9 helped me gain a better understanding of my dogs’ behaviors, what they mean and how to work with it. They also helped me rebuild my relationship with my dogs.Anyone looking for a dog trainer, checkout Nitro K-9, it’s 100% worth it!

We did the 14 week training and commuted from ferndale to mill creek every sunday for class and IT WAS SO WORTH IT. Steve and the whole crew at Nitro are amazing and you will be convinced within minutes that you are learning from the best of the best. They won't train your dog for you but will give you the skills you need to be a badass dog handler, if you are committed to putting in the work! My wife and I are over the moon with our experience!! THANKS SO MUCH

I just signed 2 of my dogs up for a 14 week class that starts this weekend. So far I like what I see. I'm excited to get my dogs the training and the correction tools for myself to keep the training moving forward. After I have been in the class for a bit I will update my stars appropriately according to our experience. But I think it will be great! I liked the feel of the place!!

Heather at Nitro k-9 helped save Apollo. Apollo is my 3 year old Siberian husky, who has resource guarding. We worked closely with Heather every week for 5 months. Heather’s expertise, experience and dedication helped Apollo and I get to a safe place with training and understanding. I had a lot to learn and Heather was kind and thorough with every step. I am so incredibly lucky to have had Heathers help and knowledge. What I valued the most about this experience, is Heather truly cared for Apollo, you can 100% tell her heart is in this business and for the pets (family) that are brought. She helped us move forward with confidence. I am so grateful to her, and nitro k-9 for helping Apollo marshmallow being a good boy!

My wife and I have had a very positive experience with Nitro K-9. Steve and his team definitely know what they are doing when it comes to quality dog training. I'm a firefighter and love to bring my German Shepherd to the station with me. Thanks to Nitro, Ronin is a very loved and respected member of the crew as his manners are terrific. I would highly recommend using Nitro K-9, especially if you have a GSD or other working breed dog.

I've had my dog Marci since she was about 4 months old. Shes brought a lot of joy to my life and has helped me get outside during difficult times. She's 5 years old now. About 2 years ago she had a bad experience at the dog park where she fought with 2 pit bulls. She got injured and we took her to the vet where they fixed her up. However she wasn't the same dog after. She was anxious around any dogs big or small and strangers. It ended up getting worse after and she would bark at any small noise she heard inside the house. On walks she was constantly scanning and would cry/bark anytime we came within eye shot of another dog. This was difficult to deal with every day and her barking and anxiety seemed to be getting more frequent. I considered re-homing her. Going to Nitro was a last ditch effort to try to do something about it. If it didn't work we had agreed to look at re-homing her.Marci has taken leaps and bounds from where she was in just 3 months of training with Nitro. We started seeing improvements about a month in. She doesn't bark at noises anymore outside of somebody knocking on the door. She doesn't pay attention to dogs walking by them and walks are much more pleasant for us and her. She's not constantly scanning or pulling the leash making it difficult to walk her. Strangers no longer bother her on walks and she's more comfortable being introduced to new people in our home. She still has trouble interacting with other dogs. We're still working with her on this. All things considered she has done exceptionally well and that's largely due to the training we got at Nitro. We work with her every day on walks practicing the commands that we learned from the trainers at Nitro. In addition to commands they explain dog behavior and teach you to understand your dog better. Body language like the tail movement, the breathing patterns, and eye movement all play a part in the way dogs communicate. There are slight nuances from dog to dog and they help you understand the way your dog is communicating.Nitro uses prong collars to train. I was very skeptical at first since it seemed painful to her when first using it. The owner Steve explained prey drive and how the collar interrupts it. I decided to give it a try and figured it would be obvious if it was making things worse for her. Works great. Nowadays I hardly ever need to correct her because she just listens so well. It's clear this is an effective way to train my dog and I plan to keep using it.TLDR;Nitro's awesome, Steve, Kate, and Heather are all great trainers. And of course the most important member of the team Bebe!

Dog training/teaching is work that GIVES GIVES GIVES. Steve does that with dogs/people. I did with it special needs kids for 10+ years in public education. I know a GREAT instructor when I see one. I have so much RESPECT the way Steve keeps it real. Aka not fake woke. Results speak louder than words. Everyone tells me how well trained and behaved my dog is. If you want the real deal, sign up for classes with Steve, do the homework and prepare to see transformation.

Working with Nitro K-9 has been amazing! I took my puppy to other trainers, and their methods simply don't stick. They work to a certain degree within the confines of the training facility, but in the real world, if my dog comes across a squirrel or rabbit, all bets are off.The Nitro trainers (we worked primarily with Steve and Matt) actually taught methods to make my dog *think* about behaviors, instead of always luring her with food as previous trainers did. The progress my dog made in the last few months is amazing. I can see her think about her actions, rather than jump at everything that moves.Highly recommend!

We took our 10 month old puppy here and completed 14 weeks of training and let me tell you it was life changing! He is a whole different dog now. My boyfriend and I are way more confident dog owners after completing this training. We mostly worked with Heather and can’t thank her enough for everything she taught us, she is amazing and always answered all of our questions. She even got our dog a bday present ☺️ You can tell she has a passion for training dogs. Everyone at the facility is really nice and knowledgeable!

Steve is absolutely the best! 10 out of 10 times would I highly recommend you take your K9 to get the proper obedience training. Helped me better understand the transformation of our K9 campanion starts with the human element. When starting your training sessions you have to go into the mind set of real expectations. Meaning you need to put in the work to get results and not expect Steve or the staff do it for you.

Nitro K9 is the real deal. This place has been such a blessing! I started here with my 4 month old golden doodle and we are almost finished with service dog training. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Heather, Matt & Steve and all 3 are incredible instructors. They are patient and very helpful in showing me how to do each skill. My dog, Shiloh, loves going and is going to be an amazing service dog for me. They are a non food based training which I enjoy because I need my dog to listen whether I have a treat in my hand or not!Highly recommend this training facility.

We’re reaching the end of our training sessions so I figured this is a good time to reflect on the progress Bear, our dog, has made with the training so far. Please bear (pun intended) in mind that Bear is a little anxious and takes a bit longer than normal to warm up to you. He is not reactive or aggressive towards anyone unless they’re in his space, which is why we thought this training effort might cause him more anxiety. Lucky for us, Heather was very supportive of giving Bear his space while still training him to be the goodest boy he can be. He’s now heeling, sitting, laying down, waiting, looking, and stopping on command. This is a huge milestone for us and Bear and we have Heather to thank for that. Recently we found Bear to gain a bit more confidence on his walks, which is tremendous given his timid demeanor. We can’t recommend nitro K9 enough, they’re the best at what they do!

I can't enough great things about NitroK9 and their staff. As a Veteran I wanted a dog to not only be well trained but be on point as my ADA service dog, but was turned down because of the breed I wanted.Ace is a blue nose pitbull and is not only an ambassador for the breed but one that surprises everyone with his calm well behaved demeanor around other dogs and other people.NitroK9's approach to training focusing on the relationship was key for me. To this day Ace does what is asked not because there is a treat in my pocket (Ace has never received a single treat) but because we have a mutual respect for one another.Ace has changed my life and I have NitroK9 to thank for helping me develop Ace into the amazing service dog he is today.
