The price for value you get for membership is here is amazing. Friendly staff, positive environment, and the gym has enough machines and space to be comfortable even at the busiest I've seen it. Also the YMCA is non-profit, who wants to pay those other greedy gyms with their sales tactics BS?

A great option for families. Not being open on Sunday is a huge minus for us though, as that would be one of the days we would go regularly on. :(

I love this YMCA. It is in such a great old building but I am very disappointed that they did away with the sauna. It was amazing. Sadly, I might be looking for a new gym with a sauna. Otherwise, this YMCA is wonderful.

I live so close to this ymca and I enjoy it for the most part. The crew are so kind and very welcoming! I also like all the machines provided for working out. Unfortunately coming here has spiked my germ anxiety and it’s hard for me to make myself go for fear of catching something. I see way too many people using all the machines with no sanitizing wipes.. (every machine says to wipe down before and after use, and the sanitizing wipes are provided in multiple dispensers) all I can think about is the germs my hands are picking up.. Also the elderly crowd loves to stand and watch you workout if you’re on a machine they want to use.. quite uncomfortable. I might switch gyms for peace of mind, sorry. :(

Not very clean. I asked for assistance never got a reply. offered to donate time to clean the Showers. Hypocritical organization that doesn't seem to care about humanity.

Why do they not take the time to update their classes and the website? False advertising!

It sure is fun to stay at the YMCA.

Quite sad that this location recently permanently shut down a lot of aquatic recreational services: sauna, steam room, hot tub. Charity, fundraiser and public funds of generations of Americans were used to build these facilities in downtown Bellingham Y to serve the community and now they are being permanently shut down. Waste of charity money and ruining it for current and future generations of use. Is this a new Christian principle YMCA is following?

Great place to workout, safe positive environment. Very great gym for kids to get active between the basketball hoops, dance studio and pool my 9 year old has gotten in very good shape this summer. The exercise machines are clean and there is a good variety they are always working and I’ve never had to wait for a machine I wanted to use. The staff is very kind, and I like that I can come workout which I do every day and just workout and not be bothered by anyone just do my workout and they don’t have some of the shady sign up stuff like some gyms do the y is affordable and have nice machines plus they do a really fun Halloween thing each year my son loves

I heard the bathroom renovations have been in the works for over two years. It would not be so bad if it wasn’t for the open bay showers. First time here and I had to leave. I’ll find another ymca. Thank you.

A MOST unfriendly place. The people at the front desk just can't be bothered even if you were on fire. Nobody to give a tour or even delineate the facilities. No smiles or friendly greetings with any of the staff. Nobody to show you the gym machines and how they work. Overall the place had the feel of a slightly creepy and very unfriendly funeral home. I am a senior and so my membership is paid for by Silver Sneaker...but I now pay for a gym membership out-of-pocket because there is NO WAY I'm going back there.

Great environment for playing basketball and working out. The swimming pool is amazing for kids and for adults. Great employees at the front desk.

I was about to get a membership at this gym but had to change course. They used to have a sauna but have since closed it and are doing some sort of locker room remodel which includes no intention of re opening the sauna or steam room. Very disappointing.I like this gym well enough. The rock wall and lap pool (albeit short at 20m instead of 25m) are nice features. That being said the membership prices are fairly high for what you get, and the permanent shut down of sauna/spa facilities is a complete deal breaker.
