As a seasoned traveler who has visited every notable wool merchant across the country, I can confidently say that Woolies in Bellingham stands in a league of its own. This isn’t just another wool store; it’s a celebration of all things woolen, a place where the passion for this timeless material is both palpable and infectious. What sets Woolies apart is its remarkable variety and quality. The store’s collection goes beyond the typical offerings, featuring everything from intricately knitted scarves to bespoke woolen jackets. Each item in the store speaks volumes about the skill and dedication behind its creation. The staff at Woolies are not just salespeople; they are wool connoisseurs. They provide a shopping experience that’s both informative and delightful, making even the most discerning wool enthusiasts feel right at home.

During my first time there I left with a new fall jacket. I have gotten a lot of great compliments on the jacket. I have become a shopper for life.

I brought a dress to wear to an event while visiting Bellingham. Dress has a hole in the sleeve. I cut the sleeves off to try to save the dress - it did not work. Whole dress is ruined and I need to stop thinking seamstressing is in my wheelhouse - it is not. Since I have only one dress, I now need a new outfit. I did frantically search Yelp for a boho spot downtown within walking distance of my hotel. I went to three different places before stopping at Woolies. The second you walk in you get the most serene scent of whatever incense they are working with and immediately feel at ease. There are rows and rows of magical handmade items. The lady at the counter was so sweet - I told her my tragic story and she told me I had come to the right spot. She also let me know that the owner used to be a Buddhist Monk and now is a fair trade creator and the pieces are absolutely amazing. You will get lost in the ambiance and the beauty of all the clothing here for sure. It is gorgeous. A pair of red wrap pants caught my eye and they fit perfectly - I absolutely love them. They were made in India and there are clothing and accessories here that are made all over the world. An ethical place to shop 100%.

Bought a wool, hooded cable knit sweater at fair in Alaska in 2000. Has traveled all over the world with me during husband's USAF tours.Held many babies, seen Northern lights, rode a gondola in Venice, did Active Duty with it as Essential Health Field Personnel for State/County Emergency during hurricane Ivan, and cleaned horse stalls in SD, while my trainer dad recovered from a massive heart attack.Old grey also sat outside ICU every night sleeping wherever, to get all the updates. I've shared "old grey" with my aunt for 23 years on visits and refused to give it up. Now I find myself in Eugene, OR with family in school and Aunt on the way. We've decided to drive to SD, BUT....make a detour North. To Woolies- to find another magical sweater! I can't Believe my luck. You're like a lifetime of memories for me and worth the 10 extra hours.I love my old sweater~Quinn ?

I was the only one in the store and the girl at the counter didn't say a word the whole time I was in there. I found a few things and went to pay and she then said their credit card machine isn't working. She also didn't know how to enter a card manually. I didn't have quit enough cash, and they don't accept checks, and she really didn't offer any suggestions or say much. So I left and will not go back.

Arrogant owner. Good prices because merchandise is cheaply made. Insisted that my Colombian alpaca poncho (called a ruana in Colombia, which he argued) that I purchased in Colombia was made in Ecuador, which it wasn't. Very insulting to contradict potential customers. Will not be returning.

STILL OPEN!! Friendly owner and very good prices. For some reason google occasionally says they are permanently closed, but that has never been the case. Check their FB page for hours.
