“Our 9.5 year old golden (Lucy) had never been so sick, with distress at both ends of her digestive system. She wouldn't keep any food or water down and was getting extremely dehydrated. Our experience at the Animal Emergency Care facility was excellent. Check-in was smooth with basic info entered directly into their system from an app accessed via a QR code at the counter. We moved from the lobby into an exam room right away where the evaluation took place. All of staff and the attending vet, Dr. Bailey, were professional, compassionate, and provided clear communications. They rehydrated Lucy with a subcutaneous injection and prescribed meds and diet instructions. We were able to pay for the care in the exam room. The meds cleared up the problems right away. Getting medical attention at Banfield (where we have a subscription care plan) would have been much less expensive but Banfield couldn't fit Lucy in for a same-day visit in either Bellingham or Mt Vernon and we appreciate the immediate attention we received from the Animal Emergency Care facility.”

“I drove my mom’s dog all the way from Tacoma so her dog would be able to be treated for infection. Tacoma vet prices were between 2,000 and 3,000 dollars and we couldn’t afford it. We got the best care for only 400 dollars at Mountain Vet. Absolutely worth the drive!! Thank you so much for your service!!”

“Been taking my dogs here a while now, but this was the first time I had to let one go. My girl Kira got cancer, 15 years old she lived her max life till she was an old lady. They were very respectful, and accommodating to our family. They kept her comfortable for 2 weeks. Had a room for us when it was time, made it so we could stay for hours if we needed and even gave treats. A week or so later we received a sympathy card from them with a laminated poem and our baby girls paw prints? . Such a thoughtful group of people, so caring, and loving! I would highly recommend this facility to anypet owner!”

“Our Shepard mix had his teeth ultrasonically cleaned today without the use of anesthesia. The short procedure went very well. Besides being much less costly than with the use of anesthesia the procedure is safer with little risk, unlike with anesthesia. He had his vitals checked before the procedure.”

“FVH is well deserving of its high review rating on Google. I've been taking my two Cavaliers to them since the beginning of 2020 and I've experienced nothing but the best care and love towards my animals from their front desk staff to their vets. Even when they are swamped with patients, I've never felt rushed or that my pets received less than their best. One of my Cavs had been struggling with chronic allergies since she was a puppy, the worst part of which were the awful ear infections she would get year round. It has taken a toll on her hearing. Until I met with Dr. Kennedy, no vet had taken the time to truly listen, take a detailed history and recommend alternatives when previous treatments had failed or proved to be unsustainable. Now Lily has the right meds and nothing has worked better. She isn't bothered by chronic ear infections anymore, doesn't itch and chew her paws non-stop, and can enjoy herself all seasons of the year! Thank you FVH for your dedication to our pets.”

“The team at Northshore is extremely professional, knowledge, and compassionate. They'd been our regular vet for about a year, and our oldest cat got sick. They helped us diagnose, treat, and eventually compassionately put him to sleep and they were very kind throughout this process. Drs Kifney, Knoles, and Edgers all helped through this princess and were great with their knowledge and compassionate bedside manner. They know that we cherish our pets and even though they see much of this day in and day out had much empathy for our pain while handling things professionally.”

“I was very pleased with the care provided to my fur baby. I recently inherited a senior cat and am new to this whole "caring for a pet" experience. (Stressful!) After receiving a really high quote (I mean REALLY high!) from another clinic for a single tooth extraction (which nearly caused me to faint--who knew???), Mountain Veterinary Hospital was highly recommended to me both from a cost standpoint, but care as well via a very experienced and dedicated pet owner. I got specific comparison info before I made my decision for help for my kitty. Admittedly, there were some differences in approaches/recommendations that--at least partly--explained the charge gap. But that gave me a choice. In reviewing the proposed procedures (and I do have some medical background), I thought each had merits and were reasonable; but going with MVH for what I deemed a perfectly sensible plan cost me about $275 which means I saved many hundreds of dollars! The staff I communicated with were all friendly, helpful and responsive. I was able to get an appointment super quickly--and this was not an urgent matter. I liked Dr. Stone very much and felt he gave me helpful information and advice. I don't feel like I experienced any surprises or inconsistencies in communications about what to expect and do. He was patient and helpful with other questions I had unrelated to the appointment--so I felt he was responsive and informative, and he took the needed time to help me care best for my beloved kitty, clearly understanding I am novice at this.”

“I have been going to Village vet for maybe 10+ years and will go nowhere else with my Pets. I typically use Dr. Trimble ( I love her) but have seen the other DR's too. Our Golden Retriever lost the hair on his chest and skin was weeping, after trying a few different things ( medicines etc.) the Dr. said we should change his food to a skin sensitivity prescription. By the time he was through 1/2 of the bag, his hair grew back and skin healed. This was 6 yrs. ago and he has never had another problem, he is still on the same food. I have 3 other dogs I take there and I am always confident they will take care of them for me. I know not everyone has had a positive experience, but the "Rants" posted are outrageous, I can't even imagine any of the DR's or Techs treating anyone or their Pets in the manner stated in the post. “I think this is wonderful place. I haven't done a lot of shopping here for my cat, but I've enjoyed wandering around this nice store while my partner gets supplies for his birdies. He introduced me to Petco, and I became especially glad that he did when I searched all over town for Arm & Hammer Absorbex cat litter. I had tried two of the other Arm & Hammer varieties of clumping cat litter, and I did not like them (too easy to leave the box along with the cat! Not a happy experience if the cat gets into my bed!) But I liked Absorbex very much, and the manufacturer kindly gave me $60 worth of replacement coupons. The trouble was finding a place that carried sufficient volumes of litter for me to be able to use the coupons fully.I called all over town (B'ham is small, after all!) And one of my last calls was to Petco. Not only do they carry my preferred litter, but they had the size I needed! Po-ou was true to his word, saving their last box for me, along with instructions on how to follow-up if needed. When I went in, I was helped by Kim who was wonderful. The staff were so helpful, good-humored and just terrific.And at the end of my saga, I was rewarded with an amazing sight: A huge metal container filled with giant Lamb Chop stuffed toys--and I do mean giant!--at a steal of a price. Having fantasized that my mom named me for Shari Lewis, I had to indulge, and Lambie is now happily ensconced in my home.What a great store!”
