This place has awesome sales whenever the seasons change. I am not kidding. Sweaters, long sleeve flannels, henleys and button-up shirts for $5.99 are you kidding me? My girlfriend tipped me off to this bargain-shopper's fantasy land this spring when they were discounting all the winter clothes. I will be back to check out the seasonal sales in the future---no reason to pay full price if you can wait until things are over 50% off at the end of the season! :-D

They have pretty good deals. I have couple times for a polar shirt for my dad for less than $10. Also keep an eye on their flyers. They have 25% off if you spend X amount of dollar or spend $25 save $10 on top of their other deals. Staff are ok. It does seem quiet in the store and staff are friendly but it might not be easy to find one and sometimes they are just chatting away.

JCP tends to get a bad rap among retailers, having the reputation a more of a "large K-Mart" than a place to find good fashion. But over the last couple of years I've really noticed some improvements in their selection of styles, and have started to make JCP a "must-stop" when I'm looking for something new for me or the kids. For example, a few days ago I went shopping for something to wear to a friend's wedding, and I was very impressed with their selection of summer dresses - they had everything from sundresses to maxi-dresses, in a variety of styles from casual to formal. I ended up finding two I couldn't live without! (Um, I'll return the one I don't wear, right? Yeah, right!) They also have a great selection of clothes for my pre-teen, who is in that awkward size stage between young girls and misses. The sales gals in the teen section are FABULOUS and always help her find something that fits her and helps her feel more stylish. I also love their salon, the stylists are great (if only management would let them paint the hideously bright white walls)! If you go for a haircut, ask about their specials - usually they are offering some type of service at a discount. Oh, and the discount racks in the shoe department offer some AMAZING deals. They recently had all their leather boots marked down 75% off! Now please, PLEASE JCP management people I have a couple of requests: 1) We need a Sephora! I know you have them in other stores (Lynnwood comes to mind); we need one here in the Ham! 2) Please, please give the salon a makeover. It is so bad in there. I think business would triple if you made this section look just a little more stylish. 3) Thanks for the "frequent shopper" program - it's saved me a ton over the years!

Wham bam. That's how I shop. I shop like a machine and systematically and I don't waste time. 1) do I like the style, 2) do I like the colour, 3) do I like the material (this is usually where it gets ugly because I probably have standards more picky than the Queen of England), 4) price point (if it hasn't gotten ugly already this is where shit hits the fan and I either roar out in disgust and spit all over fellow shoppers or I accept and take it to the till). If I like a manufacturer or brand, I will buy and I will buy in multiples to feed millions. Or to last me into middle or old age. This is why I rarely shop and when I shop, nobody get in my way. JCPenney is one of the few stores that can handle my methods and follow through. For that reason, 4 stars.

Probably not as bad as it sounds, just prefer Macy's more. While it is still a large Department store, the luggage and bags section even more embarrassing than Khols LOL. Another anchor store here so good access to parking lot. From inside the mall, men's is really deep towards the right, after zig zagging by the baby clothing.. If you are shopping for Jan's Sport bags, more expensive here, by $15!

The ambiance is less to be desired, I get that. It is a department store for decent deals compared to back home. I've actually walked out with some really really good deals when the guy and I have been cross border shopping. He bought me a really fashionable sweater dress (yes this does exist) from here, I bought some spanx for cheap and a Peanut Butter cup shirt. Ladies at the til were a bit annoying and slow.

A-OK in my book. My sister and I went for a day of shopping at Bellis Fair and because I hadn't set foot in a JC Penney in probably 15 years, it seemed like a good time to check one out. Especially because of the store's support of equal rights. We saw some cute jewelry boxes, affordable rings and earrings, a decent selection of clothes in the women's a juniors departments and everything was well organized and tidy. Sadly, nothing caught our eyes long enough to want to buy anything but it won't be another 15 years before I shop here again.
