We absolutely LOVE this store. So many unique items, beautiful items for the home, as gifts, for the kitchen, to wear, to read, or just to look @, so many things! We find it very hard to leave “Ideal” without bringing something home with us. We are very fortunate to have such a retailer as Ideal in our beautiful part of the world, thank you Ideal, thank you so much!!

Ideal is a beautifully curated gift store with a clean, modern Danish/Japanese aesthetic. Everything has a story here, and the owner chooses their heirloom quality items with care - I enjoyed chatting with her and learning more about the store. The shop has been in Bellingham for 13 years, and seems to be a beloved downtown institution.
There’s a little something for everyone here. I found quite a few things I loved and would want to buy - the price point is on the high side, but their wares are unique and high quality. I ended up buying some books on art and design, but have my eye on a few things I may come back for next time I visit. :)
I think this is a gift store that anyone would be thrilled to receive something from! Me included. ?

The most unique gift shop in all of Bellingham. Special home decor and practical essentials make this shop a one-stop-shop for everyone on my gift list. Fifteen years ago I bought a unique artistic door mat that is still beautiful today. Specialty gifts for infants up to seniors. Most of all it is a fun and interesting place to browse.

A wonderful selection of the coolest curated goodies! They do a nice job of representing some rad local brands as well of wares from all over the place. My favorites are their books and stationary but the children’s goods are also pretty hard to beat— their book selection is always top notch! Oh and the shop is dog friendly which I love :)

This is one of my favorite stores for buying gifts. The owners and staff are so friendly and helpful and always help me find the perfect gifts in my budget. A lot of thought and attention goes into their selection process, so you really can’t go wrong here — and they get new items in all the time! It’s also my favorite spot for finding unique minimalist jewelry and cute kitchen items. Check them out!

I was in here for Christmas shopping, too and there’s already enough fresh, thoughtfully creative items to choose from. The owner is a pleasure to talk to and shows genuine pride/interest in her products. A quality over quantity store, I’ll look for gifts here as long as it’s open!
