Went to the seafood and meat counter to buy some USDA Prime steaks for a special occasion. I asked the disheveled looking person that was working for help selecting them as there were a couple different looking cuts. He replied "Yeah, I cant see them." I said, well you have to pull in the tray to get them for me and he just scoffed. Take your bad day out on coworkers not customers. I picked a couple out and left feeling like I payed for bad service.

While Haggens and Safeway are owned by Albertsons, there are some differences between the stores. Unfortunately, they are now on the most expensive end of Whatcom grocery options.Still, Meridian, (or "Dark Haggen," as it's known by locals) is the best Haggen. It manages to cram a whole lot of variety onto the shelves. While they don't have the best produce in town, they usually replace anything that's not okay). Functional baked goods, not high-end but decent breads, rolls and desserts. Their vegan options keep expanding and now include cakes, Impossible and Beyond meat alternatives, lots of cheeses (including vegan ricotta) -- although it seems they are carrying fewer vegan bakery options. Most of the staff are friendly and professional and go out of their way to help customers - and it never feels like it's a problem or annoying to do so. Parking is great - I've never seen a completely full lot The lot is easy to navigate.

Lovely decor for a grocery storeAnd its employees seem happy to beTasty Deli products, let's face itMade again & again on a daily basisDeep green with a Red brick floor I was a kid when they built the Meridian storeThe prices change with the world we live inBut love remains for patrons who shop withinHaggens has everything you need & then some. They used to be 24 hours until C19 loused things up. I'd encourage some prices for diminishment, but if you have the Ching then you will enjoy the atmosphere. I still shop there when I know that I can stretch my dollar down the road at WinCo, but that's just me: I do a lot of things like that. Strange days indeed.

Haggens is a decent grocery store in general This particular haggens is one of the better ones as there's not so much riff Raff that is hanging around there begging for money or food.

Bakery, deli… always closing before the times posted. If you want to leave early change the hours so I don’t waste my time with you.

Pricey but healthy food! Clean store with polite staff. Their deli is great if you are on the lookout for sliced meats or side dishes without having to cook.
