“Avis’s customer service is generally as friendly as a rebat raccoon. I’d rather deal with an abbey bear than their customer service department.
With that said, Matthew is the embodiment of amazing customer service. He came in early when I needed a car rental and helped me get my car as soon as possible. He might have given me a car without a full tank and he was willing to overlook the gas tank issue.
I was about to finish my job early, but I missed Bellingham’s last flight to Sacramento. Most Avis rentals have the ability to drop the car off somewhere else. I returned my original car to Matthew and shared my situation of trying to get home later that day. There was no Uber from Bellingham to Seattle so I needed to rent a car and drop it off there. He looked around to see if he could find a car and if he couldn’t, he was going to recommend me to someone else. He found a car and helped me out.
Matthew was kind, flexible, helpful, and empathetic. I’d definitely do business with him and recommend anyone else to follow. If Avis had the customer service I experienced with Matthew, they would easily be the only rental facility people would do business with.”

“I recently rented a car through Alamo (via Costco- best price) and had an excellent experience with the service at the PHX airport and with the vehicle. The pick of our SUV was flawless! When we needed to exchange it (low oil pressure light came on) it was an easy call to them with clear instructions. We were then given another SUV for the remainder of the trip. Drop off was easy and the employees were great. Definitely rent from them !”

4255 Mitchell Way Suite 6, Bellingham“The first car we got was ok, nothing special. We hit a large rock in the road after some rocks had fallen from a mountain side and blew out the tires on the way to North Cascades National Park. The donut was larger than the original tired and the Jack was small. Changing the tire on the side of a mountain in the rain was an interesting experience. We had to drive the car two hours away to the next closest airport to get a new car. We paid $140 for the tires to be replaced. The size of the next car was fine but the gas tank was only 3/4 full which is super annoying since we returned a full tank and would be expected to do the same with the next car too.”

4255 Mitchell Way, Bellingham“Due to personal matters, I was very late to pick up my rental, and didn’t call, I just showed up. Both gentlemen I spoke with were patient and worked with me. Due to me arriving hours after initially planned, my original vehicle was no longer available. It worked out in my favor as they ended up significantly upgrading my vehicle, and I am so very thankful for that.
The rain was very intense while we drove over Snoqualmie pass. The car that we drove was so fancy and helped keep us extra safe while we drove with caution, and took it slow and steady. I feel so blessed! I’m excited to enjoy the rest of my vacation. Special thank you to the two staff who worked with me. Team work, and patient communication make the world go round a little smoother, figuratively speaking. I’ll work on calling ahead next time. Two thumbs up! ?? ??”
