I don’t generally post 1-star review but now feel others deserve to know how racist the owner is. Ever since my teenager and me stepped inside the salon, Mindy kept on saying bad things about ‘Indians’. My daughter had hair oil in her hair from a massage and Mindy literally bashed how ‘Indians’ put oil in their hair all the time. She then asked my daughter how often she washes her hair and when my daughter said once a week, Mindy said ‘Why do you Indians not wash your hair often?’. She got a call on her phone while we were there and she put the other person on speaker. The person happened to be an Indian and after Mindy disconnected the phone, she said ‘See you can tell from the accent that it is Indian’. She referenced Indians in other ways as well and I felt she was being derogatory. At one point she said Chinese have better silky hair.
I didn’t say anything then since I didn’t want to create a scene in front of my daughter. But my daughter later asked me ‘why I listened to all that??’. This is not acceptable, not just from a business owner but also on the level of humanity. Are we really in 2024???

First time I made an appointment with her she showed up 15 minutes late and talked about politics for the entire appointment. Second appointment she did not show up at all.

The following was the experience of my teenager girl. I was shocked to learn that Mindy was impatient and rude with her before blatantly asking her for a 5 star review. Avoid this place and Mindy if u don’t want to be taken advantage of.
I went to this salon to get a haircut and i was really nervous about it. When i arrived, Mindy said that we would have to wait for a bit as she forgot that i booked at that time slot. While shampooing my hair, she asked me what i wanted. I wanted to go to the salon chair to point out the length with my hands, I tried my best to explain what i wanted to her, but it was harder while my hair was being washed and i was nervous. Mindy started telling me to hurry up, that her schedule was busy and she didn't have time for this. She then proceeded to assume that i had never gotten a haircut before, and that i didn’t know what i wanted. Before the appointment, i had spent a long time planning what i wanted and finding reference pictures. The initial haircut was fine, and it looked pretty cute styled, but after a few washes it looked unsymmetrical and not how i like it.This was a problem i had with my last haircut and i wanted to do this appointment to get it fixed. I thought this stylist specialized in wavy and thick hair, which is literally my hair type? In the chair, i had asked her if the hair was going to look good without styling, and she said yes. Right now, it doesn’t, and a few days later i realized that the curtain bangs she cut, while short and nice were uneven. While i could have communicated better, there is no excuse for my hair to be uneven. Mindy had told me i should give her a five star review. I am giving this place a one star review for her attitude, and while the haircut turned out alright, it could have been better.

Usually I don't leave reviews but had to since there are some bad reviews lol. Easily one of my favbarbershop. Even put my brother on as well. Me and my brother have hated every single barbershop and this is the first place where we look forward to getting good haircuts everytime.

I was looking for a salon to schedule in an area I was in . This was a great choice Mindy is very nice. She did my hair turned out good she has a good knowledge of hair and products had me done within 1.30 min. I do recommend her.

Low-key the best salon in the greater Seattle/Bellevue area. MINDY is the best!! She is so sweet and has over 25 years experience. If you want a 2 block haircut, ask for Mindy. ❤️

Went to this place for the first time a couple of days ago and Mindy was great. I usually just get the average short hair cut but Mindy was able to make that but also make my hair look really nice. I recommend going here if you want to try something or discover something new for your hair cuts.
