After a recent visit to the Bellevue location - where I walked out because the store is a horrible place to spend any amount of time, I decided to read what the reasons were behind JoAnn's Chapter 11. At the top of nearly all articles, you will read something about consumers and lower discretionary spending, inflation, yada yada. If you go deeper, you find that Joann has been suffering FOR YEARS to keep afloat - except during its Covid boom time. So I decided to look up the CEO salary, who was "appointed" in February 2019. "Miquelon received a compensation package worth $2.74 million in fiscal 2023, according to company filings, which included a base salary of $834,231. He received a compensation package worth $2.43 million on a base salary of $825,000 in fiscal 2022." So from 2022-2023 his total compensation WENT UP $310,000. Proving once again that this has nothing to do with consumers (mostly women btw) but rather greed and poor management by the dude at the top. Because how do you explain Michael's? Or the other place closed on Sundays? I feel really sorry for the employees; I can imagine a lot of them chose to blend their love of sewing and/or crafting with employment.

100% agree with latest one star review. And I can vouch I walked out because of direct communication with the manager on duty at the fabric counter. The lady working under her was several times as professional, by the way.
Their fabric shelves are appropriately named disheveled. They had several fabrics in the wrong section of 70% off, when they were 25% off. The employee helping me asked her manager if she would honor the 70% off since it was in the wrong location and she said yes. Since they were busy the same manager began cutting it for me and the employee told her I was the one they had discussed 70% off.
Before totally finishing she found its actual price (which had already been found and still agreed to do the 70% off since it was in the wrong place), but because she found the price herself, she would not honor what she agreed to. I asked if she wouldn’t be honoring it and she said “No,” wasting my time completely.
I left then went back to let her know that going back on what she agreed to was unprofessional. She gaslighted me and said “Thank you.” I said “That’s not an answer.” She said “Thank you” again, as a tort back, so I simply responded again “It’s still not an answer,” and began to walk away.
So she took that moment to yell, “You’re not my mother!”
I walked back and said “Seriously? What is your name. I’ll be contacting corporate.”
To which she said “That doesn’t matter.”
So, if it in fact doesn’t matter that customers and the organization of the store can be mistreated all the way to the manager, the state of this Joann’s is fully explained.
I agree that the Michael’s is lovely and respectful, so obviously I’ll go there since it’s around the corner, literally.
As for the corporate call they were closed for the day but I’ll be trying again soon.

Didn't apply my coupons (that were valid) and stole 15 bucks from me, didn't make a fuss since there was a line but definitely recommend going to Renton or Tukwilla instead

I had a very bad experience today. They cancelled my order even though they have the fabric in the store. I spoke to a very rude lady, she hang up on me after saying she cannot help.

I’ve been trying to contact Joann Fabric for weeks requesting they update their hours on Joann’s website and Google but they still haven’t done so.
Their real hours Monday-Sat are:
10am-7pm

This store looks like a bomb went off in it. I don't want to see the store close because they have the best sales on yarn, but something needs to change. I went in today and was treated so poorly by one of the employees I just left the store. The disrespect towards me for simply asking where I could find an item was absolutely uncalled for and unexpected. I wish I got her name, but I was so taken off guard by her behavior I didn't pay attention. If you hate your job then go somewhere else! Anyways, I hope they can turn the store around, but I don't foresee that happening.

The manager was so rude, I asked her to help finding something, she said “I don’t know”.There was one cashier even a long line, had to wait almost 30min. It seems like they don’t manage well with everything.

This store is so bleak. Understaffed and the shelves are either empty or in complete disarray.

It looks like it's going out of business.I feel for the staff having to work in this environment... It's obvious there aren't enough people working here to possibly keep it clean and well stocked. The other locations in the area don't look anything like this, So you got to wonder what's happening at this particular store... Working in retail for the past few decades myself, to me it looks like they need a change in management.Aisle after aisle of empty shelves, clutter on the floors, unmarked pricing, outdated sale signs, and total disappointment.Basics like sewing needles have a 6 ft area of shelving dedicated to them and there's only three packs available. Thread has an area dedicated with 90% emptiness. The areas that do have full inventory are in total disarray. The front of the store is chaos... The entryway where they're supposed to have seasonal displays to entice you, has a single box of 80% off Christmas candy canes and one gnome sign. There's no shopping carts inside the store, but you can find them scattered around the parking lot here and there.Only one exhausted cashier with a huge line that took 25 minutes to get through. The only reason we waited in line is because we had already spent 40 minutes waiting for our name to get called to cut fabric. There is only one person at the fabric cut station as well.Thankfully in the same parking lot, not 200 feet away is a Michaels that has clean, beautiful displays, always in stock inventory and a well staffed store.

Don’t go here!!!!! They don’t update their hours. We drove over 20 minutes to get here because it says they are open, but to only find out they closed early for no reason

Do not order anything online from this store. All items say they are in stock, you order, wait for an email saying your items are ready for pickup, but days will pass. Then you receive a sorry email that the items are out of stock. I tried Joann’s for the last time!
