Helpful and great service to the homeless communities in Seattle. Keep the good work up. Indeed you give the homeless and low income earners hope. And link to the work back.

They are rarely open and do not answer phone when they are. It is reported that they recieve $61 MILLION a year for helping homeless… and the CEOs are conveniently rich and they only do “raffles” to decide who gets financial assistance. There are thousands of homeless people here; this organization makes me sick.

I go here every couple of weeks to help a friend until he gets his other-weekly visits established. As I am currently homeless myself, I have no place to store food, but now that he has been housed, he has places and needs the help.Anyway, it varies what's available, but there are several items worth getting each visit. The actual store is decent enough. The sad fact is that we shouldn't need HopeLink, but EBT is too messed up and doesn't meet anyone's actual needs.

They have a good selection. A bit too much pastry…. :). Good produce, but the bananas were too old. They are a bit too burocratic, but it was understandable. Chinese flue rules were still in force, which I think is a farce. Lots of food.

A new LIHEAP customer and very grateful for the energy assistance. The representatives are responsive which is commendable! In March 2023, I received an offer from Hopelink asking if I need an air conditioner (as a part of the program). I was EXCITED!! At the same time, I thought, "March? So soon?" (Didn't expect a May heatwave.) Hopelink chooses the AC. Amazon documented the AC as delivered on 3/30/23. It was not delivered to the door, just carelessly left elsewhere on the property. For the days that followed, a neighbor saw a mini refrigerator in parking lot A, parking lot B, by the elevator in another building, etc. It was the AC and Property Management got involved. That made a stressful situation worse. Hopelink stated Amazon would pick it up to return it. I never received it and hope it was returned. Hopelink graciously sent the AC info. Question: What if the customer can't use the AC chosen by Hopelink? From my research: 1) The AC was 80 lbs. (That would have been too heavy to remove/lift from the shipping box. I have a weight limit for lifting.) 2) The AC chosen by Hopelink was for vertical windows with hose attachment. (The window is horizontal. The apartment is on the first floor. The window faces the courtyard where more people congregate in hot weather. We have been in the middle of a May 2023 heat wave for about a week. There are Two options: A. Open the window and smell smoke or B. Keep it closed and get nauseous headaches. The window stayed closed. I contacted Hopelink to see if I could request a cold air fan instead. I'm told Fans are not included in the policy. I requested a copy of the policy. Perhaps, revising the policy to include 3 basic AC models may assist the customers better: 1) An AC with window hose attachments. 2) An AC for indoor use - no window attachments. 3) An AC Cool Air Fan. (They normally weigh less than 20 pounds. Some have an ice/water chamber). In hindsight, so glad I didn't get the air conditioner. I leave this review for other LIHEAP customers. It sounds like a great program. The representatives at Hopelink are phenomenal and deserve 10 stars! An replacement AC was offered. I declined. Revising the policy to 3 basic types may cover different customer circumstances thereby, allowing those eligible to actually use it.

Hopelink (transportation) has some of the absolute WORST hold music in the world! It's literally painful to listen to and their hold times are incredibly long! I had to call back after getting cut off while the guy (Roman) was booking my ride & we got cut off. He'd just told me the ride time but I went to myrideonline.org and it wasn't there, so apparently he hadn't completed booking it. He should've called me back. Now I have a headache. And I'm still on hold more than 45 minutes later! Why can't we just book rides online if there aren't enough call takers? Yeah, you can fax a request but who faxes anymore!?

Regarding Hopelink Transportation: Last summer wasn't even the beginning of the issues with this service. But, in only 1 week I missed 4 appts due to Hopelink Transportation. I have since not bothered with trying to use them, even though I qualify. I now simply don't go to all my appts I should be attending. Wondering if anything has improved yet? I understand times are tough for alot of companies and getting quality employees can be difficult. But maybe the ride appts shouldn't be made at all if ya know you're short of drivers AND they don't even call you to let you know no one is coming for you. Said they can't do that when I asked.
