I'm torn. Very nice people, nice place, but 18 geese are going into the trash after having them grind bones into the sausage... A week of hunting and a lot of animals wasted. Got refunded for the sausages but a refund only does part of making someone whole in these situations, it's unfortunate. Other products turned out good.

Finally giving up on this place after going here for 20+ years. The service has changed. Used to have nice, polite and friendly people. Now each time I go there is a younger gentleman that is condescending and not helpful at all. The final straw was getting a slab of pork belly (three times the cost from a year back, but that is inflation and Bellevue prices). I asked for skin off and get home to find out I have to do the removal myself. Pay $8.50 per pound and toss 1.5 lbs of skin because he didn't listen or didn't care is not a good experience. No reason to pay high prices for bad service.

They have only basic stuff such as a selection of aged steaks, chicken and turkey legs and some home-made sausages.I was told that they have only one specialist who can make boneless chicken and write me down for tomorrow. When I came tomorrow there was no specialist and no chicken (sold).The freezer (saw it from behind the counter) has shabby rusted walls and inside doors. The shop has a strong smell of spices.

A huge variety of quality meats and very friendly and knowledgeable staff! I came in for short ribs cut flaken style. They didn’t have any available with that specific cut but happily cut some on the spot for me. I will come back for most of my meat-based grocery shopping.

Our fam has been buying meat from GS since the 80’s, many a tenderloin roast and other premium cuts.Well, things have changed. We recently purchased a beautiful pot roast at a premium price with the promise it would be very tender and tasty, it was neither. It was tough as shoe leather even after crock potting it. In The garbage it went. Then we bought tri tip steaks, again at a premium price with another promise that it would be tender and flavorful, these were again tougher than any other tri tip we have ever cooked! My husband struggled through eating his chewing each bite about 50 times because it was so tough I’m not that patient, mine went in the garbageAnd yes we are very good at prepping meat and cooking.Needless to say, we will not return to buy their meat.Costco steaks are better and much more affordableWe’ve even had better steaks from SafewayVery disappointed and irritated!Buy their meat at your own risk ?

I am French and I like a good piece of meat. I recently bought some brats and kielbasa. There were both excellent but the kiebalsa were even better than usual, being coarser. Very very tasty!

My dad would frequent this shop when I was a kid. 25 years later I take my kids here for a special treat. Their jerky is still fantastic. All the people that keep it going are super!

Ordered our Thanksgiving meats here for the holiday. I was able to order over the phone and picked up per our reservation. They were fast, kind, and attentive. They had a wonderful selection of other offerings during my pick up. Our feast was a hit! Thank you Golden Steer for providing us quality meats for our holiday meal.
