“Meera saved the day fixing a tax file I did through TurboTax that ended up not being complete. She saved me thousands in tax penalties. I've learned my lesson. I'll be headed to SSK for future tax filings.”

I am so relieved that I can hand it all over to her and relax knowing everything is in her capable hands.Very reasonable rates too. She is a pleasure to work with. I am grateful to Stella & O&K Bookkeeping.-Shelly”
“I am thrilled to have found Seattle Tax Group. There was something my past accountant did not understand about filing Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) which had the IRS decide to send me bills after they reassessed my tax burden for two separate tax years. Brian at Seattle Tax Group knew right away what the issues were, and within a couple days, he had worked out new returns for those two years. He saved me tens of thousands of dollars by correcting those returns. They are also very quick to respond to questions and provide information. It really is a pleasure to work with them. Beyond all doubt, Seattle Tax Group has earned my business.Friendly, responsive, effective, fast.”
“My neighbor recommended Laurie Smith and H&R Block and I've been going to her for my taxes year after year now and appreciate her detailed work so much! I've been recommending her to others too because of how accurate, kind and professional she is.”
“We had RainCity CPA do our taxes for three years and then moved away. I loved working with them. The firm is so helpful and compatent and I haven't found anyone comparable since.”

Michael at Dang Tax and Accounting quickly found an error in my return. He was generous enough to offer the visit at no cost since the visit only lasted about 10 minutes, which to me exemplifies amazing customer service.”

1107 Madison St, Seattle“Once again, Sanjeev has been helpful and informative regarding my business taxes. He guided me through some surprise issues with the IRS this year and I was grateful. He was super efficient and so on top of my tax return, that I had to be on my game to keep up. To top it all off, he threw in a bit of humor here and there when I least expect it. I wish to continue working with Sanjeev throughout the year.”

“UPDATE APRIL 23, 2023:BETTER LATE THAN NEVER/SELF-EMPLOYMENT SHAFTIn my original review, I said "more on that later" re: my original estimate for my 2018 taxes being $1580, but the actual damage was $655 ($925 less!). I failed to say that that's because I had no more "self-employed" paper route. (side note: newspaper delivery is still legally classified as "self-employment", but it's actually "employee without employee rights") The point is, if you are self-employed, the tax prep fee is going to be higher.INVESTMENTS ALSO WILL DING YAIn this update, I would like to say that my 2019 tax prep fee was $885. The $230 uptick in fees(from $655 in 2018) was probably because that was the year I did my first investment rollover. If you have investments (IRAs, annuities, 401ks,etc.), your tax prep fee will be higher for that as well (especially if you have a slush fund...;). Therefore pay no attention to these outfits that offer to do your taxes for "free." That's only for people with simple tax returns with no self-employment, no investments, no property holdings, or any other complicated financial scenario that could give your accountant headaches!DID COVID "STAY HOME" ORDER GIVE PEOPLE TIME TO DO THEIR OWN TAXES?My 2020 tax prep fee went down again to $540 (a $345 downtick from 2019) possibly related to the initial two week COVID-19 WA state "stay home" order from March 23, 2020, which was extended to May 31, 2020. The 2021 fee was an identical $540 (COVID lag?) But starting this year with the 2022 taxes the tax prep package recommended sending in 1/2 the amount I paid for the 2021 taxes ($540/2 = $270) as an advance deposit. So I sent them the $270 deposit. But when the taxes were ready, I looked at my 2022 printed copy, which showed their fee charges failed to take into account the $270 deposit I already paid. They corrected that when I brought it to their attention. But the total fee still owing was $405. So $405 plus $270 already paid = $675. Why the $135 uptick from the $540 charged in 2021 and 2020? I was told that that their rates were going up. Perhaps the somewhat improved economy since 2020 took away the luxury of time at home to do one's own taxes, and instead allow people the luxury of paying accountants to do their taxes.”
“They are very friendly and dedicated to what they do. The process is simple and straightforward. The services they provide are various and helpful to what I need.”

1215 South Main St, Seattle“I don’t know why there are so many 1-star ratings here as I don’t think others have rated this business fairly. I’ve been going to Charlie’s since I was 18 and have received the same service every time. Couple of notes when you come here:-Avoid booking an appointment for the weekend. Everybody and their mother is here as it’s the only available time these people can do their taxes.-Parking lot is small, arrive early.-Do your taxes early. Are you waiting around the last minute to do them, are you upset now that you have to wait +1 hour with others who also didn’t plan accordingly? You can only blame yourself for the wait time.-Bring everything. Obvious, but many people don’t do it. If you think the document has to do with taxes? Bring it. If you maybe think it doesn’t. Still, bring it. Avoid having to make another trip to wait in the queue to have your report looked after.-Typical process: make an appointment via phone. Arrive 10 minutes early to get checked in. Once you’re called, an employee will ask a few questions, input your information into the system as much as they can. Charlie will come by to do a thorough audit review of the report and submit it on your behalf. You pay and go home and that completes your civic duty for the year.-There’s no frills here. You get what you pay for.”

I came to them 3 days ago with my figures and asked if they would onboard me and help me with an extention. I assumed my procrastination would yield the extention. To my suprise, I was told they would have my filing ready in a few days. I just signed off on my draft (3 days later). The fee is very reasonable. Tad bit higher than I paid my CPA in 2018 (he moved to a big firm with big hourly fee).I'll keep this reciew current as time moves forward. I plan to use Clear Accounting again and at this point, I will refer friends, family, and clients. Not too excited about the I expect fee increase”
“My experience filing business taxes with Christopher Chapman was all-around great! In previous years, I have tried 3 other tax consultants, and relative to them I can say Christopher's services are significantly superior to others. Christopher followed up with me before the end of the tax year, a smart option for customers and the tax consultant to optimize time and material!”
