On the day I was supposed to have my adult teen swimming class, the instructor was absent and they still charged me for it. The other instructor that was teaching an adult class just told me to do laps when I could’ve have done laps after class because they have it open after 11:50pm. I did complain at front desk but they said that we should complain to the manager but, she was not there. We then came back a week later to see if she was there but she wasn’t. The front desk just told to email the manager so she can get back to us. When we emailed she did reply saying that they cannot refund the money because I went into the pool. I would not recommend going here because they would take your money. When I’m absent they still charge me and when the instructor is absent they still charge me.

The staff is very charming and helpful as to the gym equipment and overall tidiness off the place just above and beyond you should really come here.

Bellevue's ymc is really excessive, because the whole family can go swimming only at 5:30pm on Friday, which is understandable. There were a lot of people there, and they were very, very angry that the lifeguard actually slept there, and he almost closed his eyes for an hour when we were there. They were really angry. I went to call him, he did not have any reaction, black hair, fat, short, for several weeks are he, all closed eyes,

This is unfortunately one of those gyms where after you submit an intent to cancel your membership, they will continue to charge your account until you follow up and they really close it out. I had an easier time cancelling both 24 hour and LA fitness. My original cancellation was submitted on Oct 2022. I have a confirmation email showing this. However, it was never followed up on.Fast forward to Mar 2023, and I finally notice the account is still active. I submitted a follow up to the cancellation which was actually processed. It’s a dishonest business practice. Very disappointed.

Friendly check-in staff, awesome Group Exercise instructors. - I'm a regular BodyPump participant and wanted to keep up my regimen while in Bellevue for a couple weeks - Bellevue YMCA hooked me up! - Olga and Vira were great instructors - very helpful to first time group class members, they were great at giving direction and high energy. - Had a blast and this will be my go-to gym while I'm in the Bellevue area!

Three employees just standing around with nothing to do at the kids zone. No your daughter cannot stay here cause she turned 10 years old 2 days ago. And you need to accompany her through the facility, oh and she’s too young to be in the weight room. So now I effectively cannot use the weight room. She’s too young to be unsupervised so why can’t she go to the supervised area that she was asking to go?

I've been a member here since 2008. I regularly use the cardio equipment, weights, and pool for laps. I've also done a few classes but not now. I also sometimes go with my kids. The only thing I don't use is the basketball court. I've been to abound five of the Seattle area Ys including downtown Seattle, Northshore, Samsamish, Coal Creek. Bellevue was the original for me, is closest to my house, and is the one I go to most regularly (except maybe for lap swimming). Bellevue is an older facility dating from before the area had grown, I'm guessing circa 1970. It is outdated and small compared to the other Seattle area Ys I've been to. Not that they don't have good classes and you can't get your workout done. I have seen it and might get the gumption to try it - both the folks playing pickle ball or badminton seem like they have a lot of fun. The weight room isn't that big and can get crowded at peak hours so you can't get to the equipment you want to in a timely fashion. Cardio I can generally get what I want, but at times I'll have to switch to a non-preferred machine. Try to be flexible. All the other Seattle Ys I've been to offer more and bigger weights and cardio areas. The pool can be empty, but pick your times. I'm a medium-fast swimmer. I've been there where two kids are getting trained by their mother in the slow lane, and waders forced over to the medium and fast lanes or generally just hanging out. There can also be a colorful characters like the dude who does the strangest sideways stroke like water ballet and wears a bright Speedo. There are four lanes. The downtown Seattle pool is the smallest at three lanes, and I've been in a lane with five people clockwise swimming there. But in Seattle people generally know how to do it. For swimming I generally have started to go to Northshore, which has six lanes and two are designated for walking or classes (at least at the times I go to).The showers and locker rooms in Bellevue are the worst of the Seattle Ys I've been too. Small. Wet. Showers almost immediately adjacent to the toilets (not to get scatological). In my experience, what I do, my rating rational is: if Samammish and maybe Coal Creek are 5s, Northshore 4 (actually a 5 for me, but comparatively lacking family pool stuff), Seattle 3, it puts this one at a 2. And I don't think of that as that bad in this case - I still go there because it is closest, I can get it done, and also because they can't really fix it unless they rebuild it. But it is in what is now pricey Bellevue.

The swim lessons are a joke. First of all, the instructors changed multiple times in first month so my child was unable to develop trust.Secondly, the instructors are not invested in their students at all. I saw him let my kid kick with knees bent and didn't bother correcting. The instructors are just running through the motions. I was monitoring my own child as well as others and can say that not one kid has progressed in the 2 months we have been coming here. This place is a waste of time and money.

As an avid swimmer, this pool is poorly lit and feels very dark and dank. The Sammamish YMCA is the best lap pool bar none but I live in Bellevue and wish they would do something with the lighting to make it brighter.

Terrible Customer Service compared to all the other local YMCAs. I have been treated very poorly and discriminated against by employees. Not what I've come to expect from YMCAs.And the facilities are the smallest/worst compared to Coal Creek (best pool for little kids) and Sammamish.

Nicest pool of the Seattle YMCAs I have visited. A proper 9 feet deep end unlike other pools which are 5/6 feet at their deepest. The group lesson swim instructors are pretty clueless and the swim lessons are entirely useless. Enroll at your own peril!

Review is for toddler/preschool swim lessons. Shallow end of the pool is 4 ft deep which is unsafe for a 3 year who can’t swim especially with the ratio of instructor to child they maintain. My 3 year slid in and went under not realizing how deep it was and nobody noticed except my husband. He was fortunately able to pull her out but I can’t imagine taking her back without a life vest.
