This review is for the pharmacy. It’s VERY apparent they are severely short staffed for the volume they do. The staff tries their best, it’s obvious but they just don’t have enough people.

Pharmacy staff is efficient and consistent. I rarely have to wait to refill my prescription. Bartells > big chains every time

This is literally the worst pharmacy I have ever been to in my life. Out of the numerous times I have had to come here to pick up prescriptions, my wait has been enormously long. I end up waiting in line for anywhere between 30 to 45 minutes just to get to the front of the counter. And sometimes the prescription is not even ready, despite them telling you via text that it is ready and you should come pick it up. In summary, this is a textbook case of a business with absolutely horrendous operating procedures. Not sure how any company can remain in business after treating customers like this consistently.

They didn't fill a prescription and didn't tell us or inform the doctor that prescribed the drug. My wife was in a lot of pian as a result. No one took responsibility (although admitted the mistake) and wouldn't escalate the mistake to have a manager call us. If this were an anti-coagulant she could of had a stroke. They are sloppy and you need to keep a close eye on what they do. Follow up: I received an email from "Audrey B", from Bartels, and she asked for my contact information. I sent it to her and after a few days of no response, she simply blew me off by giving me a general customer service number to call. Why ask for my contact info when you're not going to contact me? Supplemental update: I was patronized by the local manager and never received a follow up, or a follow up from the national office, from which I had registered a complaint. They just don't seem to think it was a big deal, to withhold a prescription and not inform the patient or doctor. On Monday I'm calling the FDA whistle blower line (888-463-6332) and report the mistake. I'll bet they will think its relevant. The FDA has suggested I contact the Washington Board of Pharmacy (360-236-4936) which I'm doing. Stay tuned!

It's over for them. i've used Barrells for years But, through the merger+bankruptcy they have reached the peak of reprehensibility and the nadir of customer care. Post-surgery pain meds (generic) delayed a week with no warning despite calls to confirm- Creditors must have them in such a tight leash the company is forced to tighten inventories to unreasonable extremes. and this is the third instance of extreme FU from Bartells. Negative 4 stars if i could.. if you grnuinely need a prescription filled you need it- go somewhere else because this store has no commitment whatsoever to you.

This is the worst place! I never picked up my prescription successfully from this place! They always said my prescriptions are not ready (after ~30mins waiting), and we need to come back, and when we come back, they said the medicine was out of stock! If this happens once, that is okay, but it has happened 5+ times! I have transferred all my future prescriptions to CVS!

Never trusting Bartells pharmacy again. They marked my dosage as TEN times what my doctor prescribed. I was fortunate that I decided to check my visit notes before taking it.They were also incredibly rude when I had to call to inquire about the status of this medicine.

Before I get to the cons of this particular store's pharmacy, let me highlight the pros for this store: the store is clean itself, inventory of items is easy to find, and I've never had a negative interaction with a store or pharmacy worker. I have no complaints for the store itself. The cons are all to do with the pharmacy, which I had to switch to out of insurance necessity about a year ago. As I said, I have only had pleasant interactions with those who work at the pharmacy. However, I think it is very clear that they are overworked and understaffed. Everyone is always busy working on prescriptions, to the point where only one (occasionally two) person(s) are able to work the register. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day I come, I will be waiting at least 40-60 minutes to get to the counter and have the 5 minute interaction to get my prescriptions. Obviously, this makes it difficult to pick up prescriptions; it is far easier to find 10-20 minutes in my day to stop by than it is to set aside an hour, which one must be prepared to do each time in case it takes that long.If you think it would be easier to pay before hand and pick it up, it is not. There is still only one or two cashiers. You still have to wait in the line, and it will still take as long to locate your medications. The delivery for this pharmacy is also bizarre, but I'm unsure if that really has to do with the pharmacy itself or with its parent company. The reason I say this is because the information for deliver on the website is not consistent with what is actually offered. According to the Bartell website, orders for same day delivery can be placed up until 2pm, and then deliveries go out later that day. However, just today in trying to get a medication delivered, selecting today's date was available at 11:29am, but by 11:30am errored out and was no longer an option. While normally this would be inconvenient but harmless overall, a prescription like the one I was requesting delivery on has significant side effects if a dose is taken even 4 hours later than it usually is. I should note, I got the text that the prescription was ready at 11:27am. This was not something I waited on, but rather set to immediately and barely missed the incorrectly identified window. That is what it is, so be it, but the website needs to reflect these times. Otherwise all it does is set customers up for confusion, frustration, and difficulty getting their medication. Which sadly appears to be a theme, whether a customer goes in person or not.My hope is that they will hire more workers and implement a better system internally for this pharmacy, as I'm sure it must be chaotic within the pharmacy if the customers are able to feel those effects so significantly.Tl;dr: the store itself is fine, issues are with the pharmacy as they are seemingly short staffed, and the website has outdated/incorrect information regarding deliveries, meaning you must make the decision between standing in line for an hour or just waiting for the delivery the next day. Don't bother with Pay 'N Go, it doesn't cut your wait time down at this pharmacy.

I would agree with the 1 Star reviews below. I would give a Zero if possible. 1. Scripts are NEVER ready when they say they will be. Last month, my one remaining script with Bartell was dated as filled on 10/4 but I was not texted until 10/7. This is highly problematic with a script, using insurance, that has to be gotten every 30 days. 2. NO ONE WILL EVER answer the phone. Last week the one person checking people out informed the woman ahead of me, "oh, we can't answer the phone we don't have anyone working." 3. The message says it is going to transfer you to the pharmacist "for more information" and then promptly disconnects. Call the main number and ask for the pharmacy? You will get disconnected. 4. If you somehow do get a script filled, when you go to get it there will be 16 people in line waiting and one person behind the cash register. Average wait time if you don't pay ahead on line is 30 minutes. My family used Bartell's (the original one) for over 25 years. Scripts were ready on time, personnel were incredibly helpful and friendly, all around a great pharmacy. I wrote a review several months after Rite Aid took over, when it was obvious things were not being run the same way. Now, after 2 years, it is worse than ever. Clearly, whoever is in charge, is not interested in customer service, running an efficient and friendly pharmacy, hiring enough people, correcting the crappy phone messaging system, etc. So as long as we continue to put up with this inept, rude, inefficient lack of service, nothing is going to change. Certainly not because it would be the right thing to do - they have had two years. Therefore, after giving them dozens of chances, I am pulling my last script. I would suggest that we all deserve to be treated far better than this Bartell manages. There are several pharmacies in this area that have prompt turn around time, friendly helpful personnel, and they even answer the phone! Go to one of them.

I filled a prescription at this Bartells. Two weeks later I went back to my doctor after no improvement and he looked up the pill and told me that it was the wrong medication. Bartells just said too bad there’s no proof they got it wrong.

If I could give zero, I would. First of all, the line for the pharmacy got to the point where it was half down two isles. Waiting for 20 minutes to ask for something behind the counter because it wasn't available on the floor. Once reaching the counter, I asked one of the pharmacist for the item I was needing and I was met with lack of basic human decency. Man stood there and proceeded to loudly announce that he can not get me the item I need because it violates his religious beliefs and I WILL NEED TO FIND SOMEONE ELSE. I understand if the item I am looking for doesn't line up with this man's religious beliefs. What I am appalled about is the absolute lack of customer service and medical care. My item was three feet away from him. I can not get that item without the service of the pharmacy. I was humiliated and was left emotionally distressed by this individual. I was refused medical care due to someone else's religious beliefs. Unacceptable.

The reviews are right. This particular pharmacy sucks ?Update: I say this because during my most recent visit I was picking up a refill for my wife that was called in by the doctor that morning. I arrived around 8:30pm, 30 minutes before closing. I waited in the long line only to be told that the refill had not even been started and to take a seat to wait. Finally around 9pm I was called back to hear that it was too soon to get a refill and my insurance wouldn't cover it so they didn't work on refilling it during that half hour wait...I was then asked if I wanted to pay out of pocket to which I asked how much that would be. I waited 5 more minutes as the pricing was checked. After going to the pharmacist to get the refilling actually started, he came over personally to explain that we didn't need the refill at all because the current supply should be enough. At this point I was just ready to leave without the meds out of frustration, so I nodded and left around 9:15pm

The pharmacist told a young woman to wait a minute while he filled her medication. An older lady went next but they told her to wait an hour to fill it. Seems discriminatory. Also, expect to wait in line from 15-45 mins.

Terrible terrible. Terrible location. I didn’t think the reviews for a pharmacy mattered, but they do. This location is horrible, prescriptions take forever to fill, no one ever picks up the phone, and there’s another Bartels literally half a mile away, which is far better. I switched over and haven’t looked back. Don’t make the same mistake I did.

The cashier a man was not very friendly when I shopped there on 7/30 Sunday. He speaks with a very fast English. I'm not expecting the cashier will be polite to me but at least, not with a rude attitude to treat a customer.
