We dropped off my 2021 blue metallic Ford Mustang convertible for an oil change in mid June. When I went to pick up my car after being serviced, I found an "H" carved into the driver's door down to the metal. One of Marv's boys had been kind of hovering around watching my husband and I find the damage. He came over to me and said it looked like it had been caused by someone using a nail. I am a retired deputy sheriff and I can tell you that's exactly what it looked like. It also sounded like a confession from the young teen boy. Kind of like a fire starter watching the fire department arrive... I asked him to get his dad, Marv, immediately. When Marv came out, I showed him the damage. He agreed it had occurred while the vehicle was in his possession. He said he would either pay for the repairs or have his insurance cover the cost of the repairs. The thing that is so awful about this situation is my dad starting going to Marv's dad's original business the 70's on Hwy 99. As a family we followed Marv when he moved to his next location near Costco. We then followed Marv (son) when he took over his dad's business after Marv SR passed. We would make the extended drive to Battle Ground when Marv JR moved the business to the property at his home. We followed them all these years because we found them as honest as the day was long. Never a concern or an issue until the malicious mischief incident to my car. When I got an estimate for the repair, Marv was taken back by the price. He wanted me to have it repaired by someone he knew. I wanted it repaired properly with the exact paint match and no short cuts as it was a beautiful metallic blue convertible that I had just finished paying on. He then referred me to his wife for any further dealings on this matter. She told me my car was nothing more than an object (this relates to their religious beliefs which is fine if it wasn't dealing with something that I worked to pay for and their kid maliciously damaged!). I told her that this was my object that I personally worked to pay for and that I wanted repaired properly. She finally provided their insurance information. She told me they could not insure the safety of our vehicles on their property. She told me we should expect issues like that because the work is being done on their property in a commercial bay with numerous kids around. After all these years and numerous referrals of friends and family to them, she told me that I shouldn't come to them for service any longer. Like this was in someway our fault! They said they had never had an insurance claim against their business and it was upsetting to them that I would file a claim instead of just have it touched up by someone they suggested. So after 50 years of what we thought was a great working relationship with a trusted mechanic family, we are kicked to the curb because their kid decided to carve an "H" into the side of my driver's door because it was the shiniest car there for service that day. By the way, their last name starts with an H... I wish they would understand that this was also a criminal act which should have referred to law enforcement and prosecution so that this kid never does anything like that again. Because blaming the victim does absolutely nothing to teach a kid right from wrong.

Really honest and good people, we've been taking our vehicles there for around 20 years and they've always been great. It has been a family run business for a very long time so they're close knit have a lot of experience.

Marv's does good work in general. I bought my own break pads and brought them to him to install. He did the work but when they squeaked, he would do nothing for me, because he said they were cheap breaks.
