I visited this store with a friend who was in town, and we had a very off-putting experience. Despite there being only one other customer, we were never greeted or acknowledged. The sales associates were engrossed in a loud conversation about dead lobsters and drugs, which was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. The clothes were cute, but we felt so uncomfortable by the sales associates that we just wanted to leave. Not a place I'd recommend or return to.

Horrible customer service. I purchased a couple of items recently and asked if they were returnable. "Yes if within 7 days & unworn with receipt." Tried to bring back the unworn earrings and was told they were not returnable. Reminded the sales person (same one I bought them from) what I was told at purchase (Yes if within 7 days with receipt) and was now told "jewelry is not returnable, it's on your receipt. I was referring to the boots you purchased." HUH? I've been trying to get a hold of the owner for over two weeks. I've called and left messages with various sales people, was told they would let the owner know. I've sent three emails to the owner. No response. I left the earrings at the store with my receipt; which they still have. No refund. I live on the Island, I am (was) a regular customer & have made many purchases $$$$ over the years. When I reminded them of this I was told "we have access to your account and we can see what you're purchased." They Lost a good customer over one of my least expensive purchase ever, $130. earrings!! The final straw was walking into the store after numerous calls to speak to the owner and hearing nothing. They had a sign posted that jewelry items were exchangeable / store credit was available during the holidays. I requested an in-store credit and was told my return for in-store credit would require approval from the owner! HUH?? I received a phone call from the sales person later that day to notify me they were going to credit to my card and refund my purchase. The call was extremely curt and no apology was offered. I will not be returning to this store. After this horrible experience & snooty poorly trained sales people with attitude I am no longer interested in ever entering your store. Worst store experience ever.

I was searching online for a sweater I saw in a window on Winslow Way when I was on Bainbridge recently. I inquired at Petit & Olson, thinking that was the store. Their webite is wonderful, yet among all the beautiful things the sweater wasn't there. The staff went out of their way to find the item I saw in a window - it turns out it wasn't their store, yet they treated me like a valued customer. I'll visit there in person next time I'm on the Island to become that valued customer.

I guess this store doesn't care about making sales! I was the only person in there when I stopped by today and took some time browsing. Two salespeople were doing nothing but chit chatting with each other. Didn't acknowledge me once. Even when I was ~10 feet away and holding up a dress I was considering trying on. Not a single hello, may I help you, or anything. I may as well have been invisible. This could've been a one-off, but something similar happened about a year ago when I bought a cute headband from the display near the front. It took forever to get someone's attention so I could pay. Maybe I don't fit a certain profile. Every other place on the island is so friendly. There's a boutique in West Seattle, smaller but similar collection. I'm always greeted warmly there. The owner of this place should buy the salespeople a copy of Malcolm Gladwell's Blink. They need to read the chapter on the car salesman who never judges a book by its cover and has the highest sales in the state of NJ. Never stopping in this store again.

Does not pay its suppliers. We are expecting a payment: more than $3000 of products that Petit & Olson has been selling for more than 3 years.

How do you stay in business when your customer service is so shoddy? I was in the store for 10 minutes, staff outnumbered customers, and I was never greeted or addressed in any way. I tried making eye contact while holding an item and the two staff were only interested in their chat. I left; nobody said "bye". Won't be back.

Came from Seattle to Bainbridge today and was hoping to visit Petit and Olson. I've been here before and ordered online and was eager to return mainly due to their selection, not so much the frosty customer service I've experienced in the past. I checked ahead of time and their closing was 6pm, as are most stores on Winslow Way. At 5:35 I tried to door and saw the deadbolt was engaged. Confused, I tried again and saw people still shopping inside. I called and they answered normally and when I asked why the door was locked she quickly answered, "oh, uh, we closed at 5:30." Shoppers still present, no sign on the door, it was just rude. I get wanting to get home early but it's not like I came 5 minutes before closing and was planning to make some serious purchases; they definitely lost a customer today.

My absolute fave in the island :) beautifully curated designers and pieces for every price point. I love that they carry brands like golden goose which is hard to find locally. Just always inspiring coming in this place and to be surrounded by a beautiful collection of things. Please stop and check them out when your in the area.

I love every aspect of P & O. The sales force is charming, honest, helpful and have become friends. The merchandise is well chosen for most age groups on the island and suits our needs. The clothes are both edgy and classic; making them fun to wear. Besides all of that, my dog Roxy considers it her purpose in life to welcome her new friends coming into the store. She must have been a retailer in her past life or a pimp.

Very cute boutique store with sentimental value for our family (bought our daughter's first onesie there!). On a trip just shortly after our daughter was born my husband surprised me with a shirt from the store which unfortunately didn't fit. We live in seattle but don't come to bainbridge much. Just made it back today with shirt in tow and learned there is no return or credit after 14 days. I was disappointed that the store doesn't offer any option for credit even at a current sale price. I realize stores are small and can't have as open policies as bigger companies but for a high end store that's pretty spendy, I would have expected something more accommodating.

Although the clothes here are lovely, I didn't have the best experience in the store. I went in today browsing for some resort wear. As I entered, I was not greeted, just looked at. The two ladies working continued to speak French the whole time I was there instead of offering to help me. I found it very rude to be speaking in another language in front of me. I had to ask for a dressing room and they seem very bothered to help me. As I finished trying on and was ready to make a purchase, they were too busy chatting and ignoring me to ring me up. I ended up putting down my three items and just walking out. Needless to say, I won't be returning.
