Had as good of an experience as one can have when paying for transmission repair. Everyone in the shop was super friendly, and the repair was super quick once the parts were ordered. Prices seemed fair. I appreciated the free diagnostic; other shops quoted minimum labor charges for diagnosis in addition to any repair costs. I hope I don't have to visit again, but if I do, I know I'm in good hands.

1998 Jeep Wrangler Sport - Transmission ReplacementI dropped it off Tuesday, 1/23/2024; expecting a 3 week turnaround. However, I got a call this morning, 1/30/2024 that my Jeep is complete. The rebuilt company had one "on the shelf". What I loved the most about this is they didn't call and inform about the little details...they just did the job that I requested. I loved the surprise call of it being done.The fact that both the manager and owner spoke with me about my options. Which were to fix the transmission leaks or replace the transmission. Since I was having issues with shifting and no passing gear. I chose to replace the transmission, which was needed but expensive compared to the bandaid. The boss also provided a couple hundred dollar discount to the final price. They are clear and ready to answer why their price is their price. It is worth the honesty and clarity.I never felt bullied, forced, or pushed to make a decision. They were respectful, quick, and professional.I will always recommend my people to go here. Thank you again to the Donalds at Transmission Specialists. :) My dad would be so proud of me! May he rest in peace. :)

I removed and dropped off a Ford 4R70W transmission from my 2003 Ford Expedition (no reverse) for a diagnosis and or rebuild. Got a call 10 days later saying it was done and what the problems and repairs were. Excellent pricing and communication. Reinstalled the transmission and immediately took the vehicle on a 2000 mile road trip. Performed flawlessly. Couldn’t be happier, I highly recommend this shop.Service: Transmission

I was scheduled for a Tuesday appointment at 9 a.m. but they ended up not actually getting to it till Wednesday so I had to take two days off of work instead of just one. That is why they are getting a 4 star. I work for myself so taking an extra day off hurt me financially. They shouldn't schedule you for a day and time if their not sure if they can get to it at that exact time.

I normally don’t give out 1-star reviews unless it’s warranted, and in this case, it is. If giving ZERO stars was an option, this place would qualify. The following is the series of events that earned this business my 1-star review:7/31/2023, contacted them by phone and asked if they can replace my torque converter and if they’ll install customer-provided parts. Don, the owner I’m assuming, said yes to both. He gave me his cost for the work and after playing phone tag a few times that day, I reached Donald (not Don) and had him put me down for 7 a.m. on 8/14.Arrived at their shop promptly at 7 a.m. on 8/14. I walked in and told Donna that I have an appt. at 7 a.m. to replace my torque converter. The way she looked at me was almost like she wasn’t aware of my appt. She asked me to fill out the form and bring it to the front desk. I did, and that’s where I spoke to Don. He read my notes and said something about test driving the car to diagnose the issue. I already told him what the issue was over the phone but he seemed like I was a customer that just dropped in to get my car fixed. He says he can have it done by Wed., 8/16 end of day. After leaving the car I had a strange feeling that they didn’t write my appt. down. Even if they did write it down, it seemed like they don’t review who is coming in that day.8/16 comes and I haven’t heard anything from the shop, so it’s either going very well, or they haven’t touched the car yet. I decided to call them to check the status. Donna tells me they haven’t started on it yet! OMG, I was shocked! She put me on hold. Don got on the phone and explained that his “specialist mechanic” was sick or couldn’t come to work so they haven’t started on my car yet. I asked him why he didn’t bother to call me to let me know because I had to rent a car and now this delay will cost more money and inconvenience. He says ‘my bad for not calling you and I apologize’. Ok, but the way he said it was NOT a sincere apology. I was already angry at that point that he didn’t communicate and he could care less about any inconveniences it caused. After mentioning the cost of renting a car for the extra time he needs to work on my car, he says ‘well, there’s one way you don’t have to spend money on a rental car…just come pick up your car’. Wow!! Really? That’s your resolve to this situation? If he would have offered a discount on the labor I would have gladly agreed to that. Nope. He could care less. His take on the whole situation is ‘well, that’s life and that’s too bad for you’ kind of attitude.8/17, picked up the car. Checked to make sure my parts were still there. Can’t trust this shop and will never be back. I then reviewed my dash cam videos. They used my car to make a coffee run down the road. Use your own cars for personal errands!! You didn’t need to test drive it because I told you the problem and I just asked you to replace the parts that I provided. Sounds like a simple request!!I’d like to see any rebuttal statement that Don has to say. In my opinion, he shouldn’t have one and simply should just have taken responsibility for lack of communication and causing inconvenience and not keeping a promise to have the work done as agreed. Even offering a discount of some sort would have been acceptable and I would have waited the few extra days. But no, he decided to be a jerk instead.

Don the owner/manager was very transparent with me about what to expect with getting repairs made with my warranty coverage on my pickup. They answered all my phone called and gave me updates and helped me out with paperwork, etc. Was glad I chose these guys to fix trucks transmission.

I had been told by another mechaythat I needed a total rebuild of my transmission. However, when we brought our Traverse to them they told me that I didn't need one yet. They said I would eventually, but not yet. They told me what to look for for when I do need one as well as what I was feeling when I was driving it. They were Very thorough with me so I understood. I am So pleased with them and when the time comes, we will be back to give them our service!! Amazing customer service!!

I called the business to get a better quote to replace the clutch in my car which was a reasonable price. I brought the car in and dropped it off and one week later, they called and told me the car was ready. The work done was just as good as it can get.Service: General repairs & maintenance
