John and his staff were great! He was able to fit me in on short notice and he took care of the rubbing issues in my lifted Tacoma.

I had emailed John earlier in the summer and we had gone back and forth a bit. I didn’t know exactly what my truck needed, I just knew it was getting worse. Then my situation changed and I needed my truck fixed enough to where I could drive it back and forth to Montana. My mom’s health had taken a turn for the worst. So I called the shop and left a message just to get back to me, the next business day, which was Monday, John got back to me, let me know he had been quite busy the first part of the summer and had gotten another employee so they were getting rocking and rolling. He apologized for not communicating very quickly at first and asked if I wanted to bring my truck in on Wednesday or Thursday,…I let him know I was in bit of a situation, told him about my mom and that I was really hoping to to get it in sooner. In my opinion, this is where these guys are rock stars, he said no problem, get it in here today or tomorrow, whichever is easiest for you and we’ll take a look. Had it in there a few minutes before closing, told me they would check it out the next morning and call with what they had found, called the next morning told me what it needed, I told him to do the fixes, it was done by early Thursday. Picked it up at the end of the day on Thursday and drives beautifully. It was a bit more than I wanted to spend, but isn’t everything these days anyway? The fact that he was able to get me in that same day was a huge shocker. Anyway, John and his crew are awesome, did a fantastic job for me, and I swear it was in record time!…. I will be using them for any upgrades or repairs I need for my truck in the future. His ability to get me in and out and back on the road is appreciated so much more than they can know! Thank you John and crew at Auburn Car Repair and Off-road!!! ?

Great experience with my Tacoma. Short story. Major issues. They got it sorted out and done in a timely fashion. They are fair. Small shop. Not a corporate. Love small businesses.

I told them what was worked on so it gave them a head start to find the problem more efficiently. Charged me over $900 to tell me the problem that I already mentioned. The fix should not go past $300 for a crank no start with the exact parts that were replaced. Even mention to let me know if they go past a hour what they have done and go on from there. Nope they went ahead kept doing. The work and just told me they finished and what the bill was. Put me in a bad position financially.
I didn’t expect t is coming from them when they did good fair work in the past. Whatever you stuck to me I will turn my cheek and take my business elsewhere.

Seem like decent enough people but no call with a quote for the repair, repairing it without letting me know what was wrong or how much it was going to be, and no call to let me know it was ready for pickup is bad business. I get that it gets busy from time to time, but not confirming work to be done before doing it doesn't sit right with me.

Great place to go for an honest assessment of your vehicle. It's very fair priced, and if you're looking for an offload shop, these guys know their stuff. Thus will be the only shop my Jeep goes to for repairs or mods.

I’m giving these guys a five star review because as someone who used to own a business and reading through some of these other reviews that are one star and totally undeserving, I especially laughed out loud at the ones where you could tell they didn’t even get any work done here, and still seemed it fit to give a one star review as well as the people who said their car got broken into after hours as that was the businesses responsibility. I’m not sure if anyone’s paying attention when they park in any parking lot anywhere but they all have a sign that says park at your own risk. It is not the business owner fault that this is a risky area to do business, and if he wasn’t doing business here you’d be stuck with four wheel parts, and if you want to talk about a business that deserves the one star review head over to 4WP….
Anyways, so far I have not done a lot of business here I was having an issue with my clutch slipping in a 2019 jeep JLU sport John recommended a Centerforce clutch and I was already leaning that way so I decided to have him install the parts. That was about a month ago and since then I’ve had issues with what our best guess is the master cylinder where the clutch will not disengage the engine in the transmission properly so I get stuck in first or second gear sometimes reverse and it’s a real problem especially at a green light if I am chilling in neutral and then go to try and put it into first gear and I’m locked out until I turn off the engine put it into first gear and then restart the engine and pop the clutch or sometimes just let off the break and that’s enough to get it moving not ideal not done either. It has been a slow and somewhat tedious process and I am leaving a review now because I am 100% confident that John and his team will get this sorted out in the near future part of the reason for the delay is they went on vacation, no need to be upset about that. It seems like these guys are so overworked. They need a vacation. I will say the only issue that I’ve been having is that I would like to have had this work done much more quickly however, when I compare that to my experience at a dealer or at four wheel parts, or many other shops that I have been to. I would rather deal with person who is straightforward and gonna just tell you how it is and what’s going on instead of a Shell game where no one is responsible and you take your problems on the road with you..

John and his team are my go-to when I break something on my Jeep... which is often.

This shop did a killer job with the alignment on my '99 Jeep Wrangler (TJ). My brother and I replaced the suspension and almost all of the steering, and then we had a rear track bar bracket break off the frame which needed to be welded back on. We did our best (especially my brother) but the Jeep was still tracking like a**. Took it to Auburn Car Repair & Off-road (all the way from Port Orchard) because the owner, John, is a local legend. I was not disappointed. For the first time since I bought this jeep in 2017 it drives straight. John (or his tech) found two control arms upside-down, a loose bolt on my front track bar, and a few other issues and corrected them. He warned me that my steering gearbox is a bit sloppy (which I already knew) but didn't try pressuring me or upselling any work. He just made my rig driveable and it's no longer a liability on the road. Worth every penny.
