Yvette’s Heartful Retreats is an 11/10 experience. Beautiful home & grounds, cozy rooms and the most delicious breakfasts made with food from her gardens. I cannot more highly recommend Yvette’s home as the BEST place to stay when visiting the islands.

Since the moment you walk into the house a warm and calming energy fills you. Every wall and space is beautifully decorated with paintings, three-dimentional art, books, instruments, plants and other peculiar objects. The gardens themselves are a work of art, there is not boubt that caring hands take care of this outdoor space. Zen decorative pieces accent the landscape. The calming waters of the bay are a perfect backdrop to this exquisite house. We stayed in the first floor suite, it was spacious and accommodated three adults very comfortably. The complementary coffe, tea and treats were a nice touch. The common spaces were open for guest to enjoy. Breakfast was homemade, healthy, delicious and beautifully served.Derek and Yvette were warm and welcoming and we enjoyed chatting with them during our stay. They made you feel like you were visiting the home of old friends. The fire pit in front of the breathtaking view and charcuterie board are a must!It was a very relaxing, incredible stay in outstanding place!

Amazing hosts, amazing taste, amazing stay. Not a single thing to be critical about. Need I say more?

We savored our time and didn't want to leave! Heartful Retreats offers the best of two worlds: the deliciousness and coziness of a B&B (each breakfast was amazing!) and the space and amenities of an air bnb rental (re: we shared a kitchen with one other couple and had a private lounge/tv space adjacent to our bedroom). Even beyond the beautiful interior spaces and the lush natural surroundings, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention another amenity: the owners, Yvette and Derek! We loved getting to know them and it brought our already incredible stay to the level of out-of-this-world. Thank you, both!

Cannot say enough good things about this gem of a place!! First it is gorgeous!! The decor was so eye catching and appealing. There were numerous areas both in and outside to sit and relax and the FLOWERS!! Stunning! Derek and especially Yvette were so warm and welcoming, friendly and enthusiastic about this work you can just tell it is not a job but a passion. They have private rooms with shared bathroom and kitchen areas as well as all the indoor areas. All kinds of coffees, teas, syrups and snacks were available, including plant based options if requested. Derek also offered us a glass of wine at check in.I absolutely loved getting to know our hosts and never felt awkward or uncomfortable talking with them like you can with some strangers: felt like I’d known them for a long time. I asked for vegan fare and Yvette made me the best tofu scramble I’ve ever had!! Everything was provided and comfortable. My only complaint was the length of my stay!! Sadly only able to spend 1 night but honestly would return to book a longer trip just to stay here, it was THAT amazing! Definitely recommend!!

Heartful Retreats is a Bed & Breakfast style hotel and artists retreat, which also lists on Airbnb, and is located about 10 minutes from the center of Anacortes. Derek and Yvette were two of the most gracious hosts I have ever stayed with, and their home and garden were gorgeous, with access to the water at the bottom of a path behind the house. We were able to park off street on the property. On check-in, they showed us to our rooms, gave us a tour of the house, and offered us welcome drinks and snacks. The home had an art studio that was available to guests, and guests can pay for private art lessons from the hosts. For artists and makers, there was a small store where the hosts sold pieces created by past guests, with all the profits going to the artists. Behind the house, there was a large patio and garden, with firepits available to rent for the cost of the wood. There was also a detached meditation and yoga studio available for guests.During my visit, I stayed in a private room but shared a bathroom with other guests. There was a larger, private suite in the house where a larger group stayed, and in the evening, several of us gathered in the garden around a firepit. In the morning, the hosts served breakfast, and we gathered at the table to eat with other guests. The next time I'm looking for a place to stay near Anacortes, this is the first place I will check for availability.

Derek and Yvette are purveyors of BLISS! Leaving the oasis they've created (with thoughtful attention to EVERY detail) is a sorrowful thing!

We were incredibly lucky to find Heartful Retreats for a birthday getaway, and we could not have picked a better place to stay. Yvette and Derek were amazing hosts who are so dedicated to taking care of their guests! The spaces are clean and comforting, the home is beautifully decorated with an amazing outdoor area and view of the water, and the hosts make a filling and delicious breakfast. Yvette and Derek really know how to foster a sense of community and safety in their home, and we loved getting to know them! We'd never stayed at an Airbnb like this before, and we would be thrilled to book here again.Little bonus in the photos: We didn't get a chance to make use of Yvette's art studio space, but we were inspired and did a bit of painting ourselves when we got home. Here's a little acrylic piece I did based on a photo I took of the gorgeous water view from their private beach!

Shocked to find I hadn't reviewed on Yelp before, as I've had the pleasure of staying at Heartful Retreats multiple times now!! Yvette and Derek are the best hosts and their home is so relaxing. Once you go once, you'll be bookmarking this place to keep returning! The grounds are beautiful, and they keep the rooms so well maintained. Even if there are other guests while you are there, you can interact as much or little with them as you want - however, this is the perfect place to meet new people! Derek and Yvette are all about community and love hearing about your story. Depending on your time of visit, I highly suggest to do a fire pit/s'mores and hang out in the yard! You also might be lucky enough that they'll cook up some fresh oysters or crab for you!I haven't done one of Yvette's painting workshops during our stay yet, but they look so fun!

We made a one night reservation in one of the private rooms at Heartful Retreats before Memorial Day weekend, here is my Airbnb review:We last minute decided to book a one night stay at Heartful Retreats as we had an early ferry to catch the following morning. My only regret was that we didn't stay longer. The property is absolutely stunning, filled with Yvette's wonderful art, and so unique. Our room was extremely clean, and the bed/sheets were so comfortable, I passed out within minutes before 10pm! It was raining so we didn't get a chance to really enjoy the beach or fire set ups, but the garden area is so beautiful. We had time to chat with Derek, Yvette, and some other guests; it felt really nice to connect with strangers after this past year. Yvette offers art classes/workshops, and they have a small shop with wine and goodies from previous guests, such a cool idea. We unfortunately had to miss breakfast, but we had breakfast bags to go that had more than enough food for the two of us, making our 6am ferry much more enjoyable!
