Valley Mart Inc. is a nice corner store and great little neighborhood grocery in the heart of Algona. It is well stocked with a little of everything and is the best smelling store around, though some note a heavy incense smell. There are friendly new owner operators, but a clerk's questioning of a young customer raised a concern. Some long-time customers are now splitting their trips between local chain stores.

Have been stopping by Valley Mart for over a decade. Used to get “goodies” there occasionally, but have noticed that the food items purchased there taste like the heavy incense in the shop. Having asthma, it’s difficult to shop there. We are splitting our trips between the two local chain convenience stores.

Definitely a very pleasant small town atmosphere they are very polite and it's always a great experience when you go there. thanks for many years of service with a smile
