We brought our dog in around 7:00 pm on a Monday for a big cut on his face. The staff was very friendly and attentive, kept us updated and we only had to wait for about an hour to get brought back and done with treatment. Dr. Caster was very kind and took great care of our dog. We would definitely go back (but hopefully we won’t need to ?).

Sorry excuse for an animal anything, let alone emergency vet...... They turn patients away just to ensure they get out before 830. If not at eight thirty, because god forbid an animal has an emergency an hour and a half before they get off shift and when you call to see if they have the resources to take care of your pet, they tell you to go elsewhere because they're in the process of discharging all of their patients..

Upon discovering my neighbors dog was hit by a car in front of my house I immediately called her and was given information from other neighbors who were there already, and where her dog could be taken for care. I gave her this location and the way she described the Dr.’s behavior after she asked the receptionist a valid question, was uncalled for. The unprofessionalism that was displayed by Dr. Carolynn McNulty was insane, especially when people are worried about their pets and you have a Dr. cursing about questions she is receiving. Really ma’am if you don’t want to work there and you don’t love what you’re doing then leave. Don’t create a toxic work environment for your employees and your customers. Also no one would be comfortable leaving their pet with you behaving the way you did. My neighbor heard you cursing even when the receptionist tried closing the door while you ranted. Not cool.

Woman on the phone extremely rude. Can’t answer simple questions. Acts like doing the job she applied for is a inconvenience.

Dr. Castner was extremely kind and considerate during a really traumatic situation. Even though we arrived shortly before they closed (because none of our local emergency vets were open and/or staffed), the entire staff was very calm, reassuring and didn't rush the process. May our beautiful boy rest in peace.

Took our 16+ year old dog in with initial symptoms of acute respiratory distress. Arrived around 4:45am. One of the vet techs was very kind and reassuring, we were at facility for two hours. Veterinarian spoke with me right before discharge and carefully explained the diagnosis and treatment. Overall, a positive visit. The exam cost was fair, but the additional charge of 45.74 for pulse oximetry is ridiculous. Pulse oximetry is part of an exam and should not be an additional charge. I’ve worked as an RN over 40 years and never have I seen extra charges for pulse oximetry. Truly this is a rip off.

My clients cat was unresponsive. They rushed her over here because unfortunately it was the only place open. They didn’t take it seriously when they came in (EVEN THOUGH SHE WASN’T MOVING) and they made them wait in the waiting room. She then had a seizure and they said there wasn’t anything they could do and put her down. Would she still be alive if there was another option or if they drove a bit farther? Possibly. But I guess it’s just easier for this place to ignore and kill an animal than actually help.

I do not agree with your response to CM. You had the option to wait to administer the final shot, as CM requested to be done when she arrived, but the vet made it very clear that he had other patients and you were busy. He should have waited, to give that final shot, just to give CM time to feel comfortable that her loved one was in fact sleeping from the sedative’s given. CM didn’t need “education”, she clearly has been through this recently at another facility that was kind enough to ASK HER IF SHE WAS READY, with her other fur baby which in itself was traumatizing losing yet another baby in less than 2 weeks. You didn’t follow her instruction, the vet did not care about her and the impact that this had on her, his only concern was rush to get it done and leave to get to the other patients. Appalling!!! You can sugar coat it as much as you want, but that final shot should have been delayed until CM was given the consideration and the choice to inject the final shot. Your vet needs to be “educated” on compassion and patience. Rather than write that long diatribe of education, maybe you should focus on compassion. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to utilize your services for euthanasia.

I can NOT recommend this emergency Vet if you are in need of having your pet euthanized. The Dr had other pets there to attend to when I brought my fifteen and a half year old pup that was in need of being humanely euthanized in last night to put him out of his suffering. He said my pup was seizing. The Vet gave him something for that. When he came in to euthanize my pet he had three syringes, he administered the sedative then immediately cleared the line then right after that administered the drug to stop his heart. He did not give him any time for the sedation to kick in. He waited a few seconds and listened to his chest with a stethoscope real quick and made some comment about him being gone, told me I could sit with him as long as I liked and was off to the next patient. Right after he left the room my pet gasped for air three times, never drifted off or closed his eyes. He just looked at me as he gasped his last breathes. I was confused and didn't understand what had just happened. I have been unable to sleep and in tears. The Dr never came back to the room. I was confused, came home and looked up are both drugs supposed to be given at the same time. I had to have another pet euthanized and the practice that helped my other pet was amazing and extremely compassionate. The staff at this office was very kind and was compassionate , but the Dr's actions made me feel like we were an inconvenience, like my pets comfort in passing meant nothing, because he had other patients to get to. I wanted his passing to be peaceful and I don't feel that it was. The fact that he couldn't give the sedation any time to kick in before he gave the drug to stop his heart has left me feeling racked with guilt for taking my pup there. I had told the girls at the front deck when I arrived that I wanted my pet completely sedated before the other drug was given. I just don't understand why that wasn't done. This was the only place I saw that was open at 1am. That is why I went there. Maybe overall this Dr is a good Vetrinarian but my experience last night has left me heartbroken and racked with guilt. Maybe this isn't the normal way he handles euthanizing pets, maybe he did things the way he did because he had other patients and didn't want to have to come back in to give the other shot. All I know is I left there with my pup with his eyes still open and I can't get that out of my head. My other pup that had been euthanized was sleeping soundly before the other practice gave the shot to stop her heart. I hope in the future this Dr will be more compassionate and give the animals he treats the time to be out before ending their life.

This is our third visit. They saved my cat from a urinary block the first time and after being treated at my vet during the day they were able to care for him for the following night. Tonight we thought he had a block, thankfully only a UTI. They were kind, efficient and helpful to getting the right options for care. They even sent all the paperwork to my vet to have first thing this morning. Thank you again for caring for my baby.

This place has gone downhill overpriced now. The best doctor has retired they're now in other hands and they're over priced worse than peninsula animal emergency. I would not bring my pet here somebody needs to open up another emergency that I don't know what is going on these people are horrible

Staff is extremely rude and doctors charged me $260 to tell me that they took my cat’s temperature and checked her heart rate, and then said to run more tests would be at least $1,000. When I asked what the other tests would be they said, “I don't know” and looked at me confused. Incompetent, unprofessional, and definitely not who you want to “care” for your animal in their time of need. They gave me no information on what could possibly be wrong and truly did nothing for my baby girl.

I would give 0 stars if it was an option, This place is a complete joke, we brought in our cat and after waiting over an hour with no one in front of us they charge us $250.00 to check her heart rate and tell us that to test for anything else it will cost around $1,000 dollars. They gave us no information on why she wasn’t breathing, why she was vomiting profusely, why her eyes were rolling in the back of her head. Our only option was to pay them $1,000 dollars or leave. If you like wasting time and getting no help whatsoever while the employees talk about Snapchat in the back while your pet is in need of help then definitely come here. This is honestly so sad and I can’t believe the service was this terrible. Do better people

They were quick and price was more than reasonable. Appreciated the extra effort they took to figure out what was wrong with our kitty.
