We blew a tire on a fallen piece of plywood on highway 81 and what could have been a horrendous experience turned out to be a quick and easy fix with these guys. The staff was amazingly helpful and cheerful, and we were out of there in less than an hour with our new tire. If you have to have a car issue on a road trip, hope you break down near Thompson’s ?

Keep your eye on this outfit. They've become a little shady since they changed hands. Took our car in to get an alignment and was told that the car would need 3 thousand dollars worth of parts and
labor to get it to a condition to align it properly, They had the parts and labor list already printed up and said they could have the parts in the next day and start on the work. I said no thanks.
I then took the car to my local body shop and told them what this
outfit had said. They checked it and said there was absolutely nothing wrong with the car and did an alignment for me on their
machine. So beware.

This place is the best, the little cashier girl gave me a snickers bar after my tires were unflattened. They take cash, card or kisses!

The young ladies in front were very helpful scheduling an alignment on my truck. Paul, the alignment tech moved to this store from the Pulaski location, he is beyond helpful and I cannot say enough about his friendly nature and automotive skill. He has been the only one who has taken the time necessary to properly dial in my truck's front end alignment which is why I will gladly travel to this store from Pulaski. I hope the managers at Thompson Tire take care of Paul and do what's needed to retain his skills. Thank you!

Blew a horse trailer tire traveling north on I-77, they got us in right away and put a new tire on for us! Wonderful service.

Replaced a difficult tire to find in less than 1 day and got us back on the road. I always expect the worst when going to a new tire store but was pleasantly surprised and will return should the need arise. We consider Wytheville our second hometown so it's nice to know we now have a tire store that we like and trust.

The service here continued to get worse each time I went here. I’m very understanding but they have one of the longest waits at all times it seems. Each time I go the price is different. Much better options in the area.

If I could leave less than 1 star I would! Took my truck in for an alignment only for them to get some sort of chemical on the rear bedside of my truck that ate the clear coat off. Took it to the body shop it’s going to be $1000+ for repairs! Showed it to the manager and they insinuated that I was lying even though I have before pictures of when the truck went into their possession.
Their list of reasons on how it could have happened:
“Parking under a tree with sap.”
“It could’ve been parked outside and someone walked by and done it.”
“Someone must’ve stood in the bed and spilled something on it”
“I know for 100% fact that it did not happen here.”
(My personal favorite) “You’re just wanting it to have happened here so that you don’t have to pay for it”
Side note: I’ve had this truck less than a week

Also this happened to me after giving them a second chance when they done some damage to a wheel of mine on my last truck “trying” to do an alignment. They tried to paint the wheel to cover it up and the paint was still tacky when I got it home. I figured with new management they would be better. BOY WAS I WRONG!

made an appointment at 8am to drop off my truck for an alignment..and a courtesy inspection...few hours pass and i call to check on my truck...was told that it hadnt been pulled in and they would call when it was done. few more hours pass..surely after 4 hours, itd be done...nope; got the same answer...theyll call me....few more hours pass...and im about to get off of work. i pass the store and my truck is STILL sitting where i parked it at 8am so i call again and ask whats taking so long....i was then informed that drop-offs dont take precedence over current customers and that they were understaffed! like why did i make an appointment, then ?
i get off work, walk to the business and my truck still isnt done! it literally took an 8 hour day to do an alignment and an inspection! AND ITS STILL NOT RIGHT! i didnt say a word to the cashier...i paid and walked out. i was then verbally assaulted by the woman at the counter as she tried to validate the 8 hour timeframe...never ever have i EVER felt so insignificant and undervalued as a customer...I will NOT be back. and pray to god noone else patronizes your establishment ever again. just shameful!

We had a company car go there for 2 tires and the driver had to wait 2 and a half hours which is ridiculous. If we have a choice next time we will go elsewhere.
