My mother and I have been shopping around for a car for a while. Needless to say, it's a headache. Before arriving at Used Cars of Fairfax I was down at Woodbridge Auto Sales off route 1 and had a bad experience, we were given incorrect numbers in regard to how much interest we would pay for a car. It seems like the people there were out to cut us every way possible. Fortunately I checked out craiglist and I usually just put in " Sold by Owner Only " but this time I filtered my results with dealers. I found a nice looking 2009 Honda Civic with 123,300ish miles so I Sent my mother and my girlfriend to check it out. Turns out it passed their expectations. When I went to look at the car myself I was pleasantly surprised on how clean the interior and exterior looked. I opened up the hood and the engine looked mighty clean! The steering wheel was wrapped in plastic and so was the driver side floor. David is a nice guy, he knows what he's doing because he's been in the business for over 45 years. He's straight forward with the breakdown on the cost of vehicle and he takes care of your plates, stickers, safety inspection, and emissions so you can confidently drive off the lot that same day. There's a few things to note. The tires of the car were basically ready to change, the front tires looked worn enough to change immediately. But I checked out his other cars and it wasnt the case for those. Later that week I tore off the plastic from the driver floor and to my surprise I found a hole through the carpeting of the car down to the metal. It was covered with the carpet mat that the car had so you wouldn't see it unless you picked it up. Not the worst thing in the world but I would have liked to know that before purchasing the vehicle. But Ladies and Gents here's the good stuff. I took the car to a mechanic to get new tires. When I arrived I asked him to inspect the car under the hood and under the car; an overall inspection to see what the car needed. The tires were the main concern of course, they were wearing down from one side because of its alignment. I knew that. But what surprised me was that he said nothing else needed attention! In fact he said that the previous owners must have taken care of the car so well that even the air filter was in good condition! Brakes, chasis, engine, anything they looked at prior to changing my tires and after didn't raise any red flags! I think that's what made me more happy about my purchase and it overlooked the negatives. It's a solid car. If you come here, rest assured you'll be in good hands. David, I know you've been waiting for my review. You probably thought I wasn't going to do it or you didn't believe I was thinking about you when we had that phone call about the keys. I like to wait a little to see what I bought to give you a well-rounded honest review. Thank you for being the seller of my first car. Truly, I'm in love with it.
