My child has been going to this school for a little less than a year. I was nervous about placing my child in a daycare. However, the daycare has done EVERYTHING to smooth those nerves! Each morning and afternoon I am greeted with a good morning and goodbye from the staff! I am receiving pictures and notes each day! The baby room has a wonderful staff that inform you everyday all the things your child has done and how they are doing. I feel that my child is safe and loved each day I walk in and walk out. Thank you for helping me through this transition!

We are incredibly grateful to be a Merit School - The Glen family. Since transferring to this location in the fall of 2022, our children have thrived. The Montessori class is everything our 3 year old needed to be successful and grow. The toddler teachers have been so comforting for us and incredibly communicative. We have only amazing things to say about this school. What they have done for our family is immeasurable.

My daughter has been at this school for almost 4 years now. We feel that our daughter feels safe and welcome at this school. Her confidence grew significantly at this school, she made friends and is eager to come to school every day. Teachers are also open to talk and share with us the progress our daughter is making.

The staff treat my child as if he is part of their family. I know he is safe and in great learning environment! They are great with communication, always responsive to any questions or concerns.

The staff has gone above and beyond to accommodate my daughter and make sure that her health issues are monitored and prioritized while in their care. I feel very comfortable knowing she's in good hands during the day, and the school is extremely communicative with us to make sure we're all the on the same page with her care. The Montessori class is extremely engaging and my daughter loves going to school each day. I'm amazed and impressed at everything she learns during her days with Mr. Wilfredo.

My son has been at The Merit School (previously Minnieland Academy) since he was 2 years old. There have been ups and downs. This center is a training program for the daycare staff, which means the directors and front office staff come and go fairly regularly. But overall we have had a good experience. Everyone is friendly and greets you when walking in the door. They are responsive to email and phone calls. I feel like my son has had a good experience and gotten a good education. I am particularly happy with the current staff. There is a lot of goodness at this center, hence, my 5 star rating.

Merit at the Glen is the manifestation of failing education system. The quality of education provided lacks far beyond given this is a private school. Mediocre quality in most aspect of this learning center was experienced during my involvement as a parent. Some management team member and teachers are far beyond organized. Their attitude portrayed clear sign of unwillingness and be involved in resolving issues while playing defense as an ideal trick under their sleeve. Lack of qualification and passion among some management team and teachers were observed during my child's year at this school. If you are serious about your child's education and would anticipate a quality experience as a parent here, please save your money and run from this place. My recommendation would be the Prince William Academy few miles down or the Merit school at Spriggs Rd.

The Merit School was a great place for my daughter to attend kindergarten. There were some hiccups (no thanks to COVID) but everyone was flexible and understanding. As a parent, it is reassuring to know that your child is prepared and ready for the next grade, the challenges ahead. Thanks, Merit School!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Minnieland Academy at The Glen!Over the years, I have had all of my children in the care of Ms. Liz, the current Director. I followed her there but admittedly, had reservations about going to Minnieland after the negative press many years ago under a different leadership but under the direction of this dedicated Director, my concerns disappeared and were soon forgotten as she fell into her normal cadence of ensuring accountability, professionalism and a nurturing environment. As with any person or business, there may be issues along the way but at no time would I second guess trusting my children to her care. There are times we as parents can get emotional and skewed in our thinking when it comes to our babies but I have always found her to be professional and thorough in my interactions which only leads to a deeper respect for her and her mission to ensure the mental and emotional well being of those in her care.

If you love your children do not take your kids to this daycare. My 3 boys were at this daycare since the age of 1 (2017) and I didn’t have a problem until the new director Liz started working there. Since day one my husband & I felt a bad vibe with her but we gave her the benefit of doubt & kept the boys at the daycare. First of all they were always low staffed having more than 8 kids with one teacher who clearly looked overwhelmed. They hire people who don’t speak the language or teenagers so they can pay them less was my impression. Many times I passed by classes and the teachers were just watching the kids- no lesson plans nothing! They just get paid to babysit & not teach or anything because mind you the teachers can barely speak English.Minnieland was in charge of taking my son to Penn Elementary & one day Mrs. Andrea called me to tell me that my son fell asleep on the bus and they didn’t notice so the bus driver drove to the next school when my son woke up & she realized he had been left behind!!!!!With my other son who has a developmental delay- he used to attend special educations classes for half the day at another school & Mrs. Liz was in charge of getting him on & off the bus. At the time we didn’t know what exactly was my sons condition and she wasn’t willing to work with him she clearly told me on the phone that she could NOT accommodate my son because it was too much for her!!!! She never had a meeting with us to see what could be done for him nothing!!! Around this time I was having a financial dispute with her because one day out of no where the new lady that sits at the front desk (forgot her name) tells me that I need to pay a fee of 1,500 or some crazy high amount because I hadn’t paid fees going back 2 years! Late fees, and a bunch of fees that I could not recall if they were paid or not because it was years ago!!!!!! If they would’ve asked me to pay at the time then I would’ve paid at the time!!!! Not years later!!! It was ridiculous !!!!!!! So I told her that I wanted to speak to Mrs. Liz but she never had time to speak with me in person but then she calls me one day and I told her that I wanted to address my concerns with my boys & she flat out told me that she could not do anything for me until I made a payment plan or paid the amount in full. I told her that I want to speak to the manager above her & she declined saying I had to make a payment plan 1st. That same day I couldn’t pick up the boys so my husband picked them up (my husband knew what was going on but he didn’t have all the details as I am the one who was handling these matters because he was mainly working).... she surprised him with a meeting with the director & manager above her and basically told him that if we didn’t pay the boys could not return. This was a Friday, when my husband told me I thought okay well on Monday I will go speak to them and get this taken care of because it’s not right!!!!! When I show up on Monday, as we were walking into the building she looked at my boys with disgust (words can’t even explain the way she looked at my boys who have nothing to do with it)!!!! I looked at her and asked her if my boys were not welcome their and she straight up told me no!!!!!! I left the building in tears- not knowing what to do because I had to go to work. She walked to the car as I was crying & told me that I had to make a payment or else they could not go inside. At this point I didn’t want them there after the way she looked at them!!!!!!!! I tried to contact management several times with no response & then COVID happened & I wasn’t able to resolve this. She made life so much harder for me! My husband and I didn’t have family in Virginia- no one else to watch my boys. I had to stop working and struggled having to move back to my home town!!!! And now I’m getting calls from collection agency’s!!!!!!!! It’s incredible and I hope this never happens to any family. Mrs. Andrea knew our family for years she never said a word & let her drag us out!!!!!!!!
